Title: Legit & Scam Online Shops Post by: CryptoTown on March 06, 2018, 02:09:28 PM Hi All,
New to the industry and the board here, lots of information to read and take in! Please feel free to move this thread/question to an already created thread if this is redundant. Is there a list of vendors to purchase mining equipment from that are above board on their business and then a list to stay away from? I've spoke to a person at bitshopusa.com about S9's and L3's, seemed legit, but not sure until making a purchase. Also, browsed bitmain.today website that looks like rather discounted equipment there, so was a little sketchy on them. If there is already a list please provide the link to that tread. Thanks! There are some legit shops that sell Bitmain stuff, but always at a markup (for example, eastshore.xyz or myrig.com) There's also legit shops that sell other company miners, like blokforge, who have more than just Canaan gear. In addition to what "wavelengthsf" mentioned above, you can also use "Badbitcoin (http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/index.htm)" website (it gets updated frequently but shouldn't completely rely on it [some of the websites appear to be missing or haven't been listed yet]).Take note: It's more of a general list, instead of focusing on mining vendors. A simple rule: Stay away from websites that offer an attractive prices. Title: Re: Legit & Scam Online Shops Post by: Lazada on March 07, 2018, 04:56:07 AM and then a list to stay away from? Title: Re: Legit & Scam Online Shops Post by: Potato Chips on March 07, 2018, 06:25:52 AM I just checked bitshopusa and they really seemed legit. They have good reviews and a huge plus is they have a reversible payment method.
The only thing I didn't like is they are only shipping on selected countries and their site is anonymous (https://www.whois.com/whois/bitshopusa.com) but then again it doesn't matter if you're gonna choose a reversible payment method. You might also wanna check out https://www.antminerdistribution.com. They're also a reseller but based on EU. Here's they're VAT # NL - 858250470B01. Many phishing site share the advertisement everywhere and target the newbies in the forum to make interest on them. You may find the random ICO and other project investment sent a pm to all. If you want to buy the Antminer series ASIC machine, your right place bitmain only. Other sites I believe the long term eBay reseller and Alibaba. Other zero reviewed sites are not fit for investing and buy from them. They have good reviews and a huge plus is they have a reversible payment method. Where did you found the reversible payment? I tried to order from bitshopusa the payment methods are a credit card, bitpay/bitcoin, and bank wire/bank deposit. I think these list of payment option is not reversible. The only thing I didn't like is they are only shipping on selected countries and their site is anonymous (https://www.whois.com/whois/bitshopusa.com) but then again it doesn't matter if you're gonna choose a reversible payment method. And it's still not safe to sacrifice even they have reversible payment because the price of mining equipment is expensive. For me, it's still the best to buy directly to bitmain.com just to be safe than ordering a miner in other websites. There are many phishing websites nowadays so safety should your priority. Title: Re: Legit & Scam Online Shops Post by: CryptoTown on March 07, 2018, 08:55:15 PM Thank you everyone for your input and sharing some online shops to look into and stay away from. With bitshopusa allowing a credit card, I actually feel more safe with that method being in the states myself. Obviously spot the ones not looking legit (no reviews, spam emailers/pms, etc) then choose one if not bitmain and maybe just give one a try.
But again thanks on the input, I'll keep checking back in here to see if more people add to the list. Advises above is really recommendable to be followed which is actually true. A simple google will really help you out either you would be convinced to buy such thing from them or not. Searching up things isnt really time consuming, always seek out for feedbacks and sites reputation. If in doubt or not satisfied with results then better skip than to risk and get scammed. Credit cards are reversible ;) Yes yes bitmain is still the safest but I don't think that there will be no risk in buying there as it will always exist no matter where you will buy IMO. Read the reviews about them, it's full of delayed shipments, defective items, poor customer support etc.. which can be a reason why some people might look for a reseller. |
