I.e., less uncertainty about future market movement.

No, the SR flash crash showed us the opposite - that sudden news will shake the market but the price will stay steady anyway. There's always something waiting around the corner that might have a major impact on the exchange rate. I don't know if the price will go up or down, but it's easier to think of things that might make it go up: Just imagine somebody like Amazon suddenly accepting BTC...
