Title: Do you know about trailing stop software for cryptocurrencies?
Post by: Stedsm on March 09, 2018, 08:01:33 PM
On a quick note, I wish to ask all you traders to let me know about any of the softwares and/or apps they're familiar about, which allows trailing stops. I've seen such softwares for MT4 and MT5 trading systems in Forex, that allow us to use it inside the system to drag the stop loss (sometimes above the entry level) to get our profit assured even if the price drops, but we gain due to this trailing stop feature. Anyone here familiar with the same thing in crypto?

I did a quite bug reserach on this.
So I found that bitstamp, bitfinex and even kraken offers trailing stop for future positions but not on spot offers.

I'm not really into trailing stops and all the technical stuff, but I do know that Bitfinex does have a trailing stop order if you'd go ahead and trade with them. Kraken had this feature, but they don't have it any longer.

If ya want to see more (and if there is more) check this out - https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/54103/which-cryptocurrency-exchange-provides-a-trailing-stop-limit-orders

I would think that tradingview (charting site) would have to have this, maybe not for free though.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm really not interested into knowing a trailing stop that's already implemented into an exchange - as I already knew about those exchanges you told me about. But, what I want is any API or a software or some kind of an app that moves the stop each time my price reached a target mentioned by me - for exchanges like Bittrex, Binance and Poloniex. I'm not good at watching things all the time, so having something work for me even if I'm not online is what I need, so I may not lose on my profits.

Oh I get it, I havnt found anything like that on the market. However, do you think it is hard to make one? Maybe someone who did a program for MT4 can make one for you.

With the recent hack relating to trading bot taking over apis of users of Binance I would advise everyone from avoiding third party applications. As they can easily takeover your account and as was seen, sell your alts for a specific coin.

Bitfinex has trailing stop but I know what you need... Trailing limit stop right? This is what im finding too. the trailing stop in bitfinex is based on market price. what I need is a combination of limit stop and trailing stop, you need to put a certain price where the trailing stop will trigger, not market price.

You will not find any 'universal' working bot for your specific need. All exchanges have APIs but they differ one for another.
Your specific requirements could easily be done from somebody with programming skills. Check the Service section for programmers. My estimate is that it will cost you 200-300 Euro per exchange if you need only trailing stops plus some minor functions.

Guys, one of my friends dragged me to some guy's telegram channel BLOCKCHAIN WHISPERS where this stop loss thing was given recently. I'm a fan of this person because my friend also gave me the Pundi call and due to that trade, I successfully converted my portfolio threefold. That friend told me that this pundi was a Blockchain Whispers call. Still, I'm somewhat hesitant to using that trailing stop loss thing, can someone please let me know whether I may go for this? As well, should I check with lower amounts or can I go all in with this?

Personally i dont know about trailling stop software for crypto trading on the exchanges, but we can use feature of stop limit for trailling stop but we have to do that by manually to change the stop limit price. Trailling stop manually is also better way to lock the profit incase the price turn in to bearish.
