Let's see what will come of it, the idea is good, but it was possible to mold a coin for the people on a script.

In my opinion this is a very brave move from the creators. Such people as them will lead the future; People who are able to think out of the box of today's reality, which is not very pleasant for living. With such an enthusiastic team I am sure the project will reach its goal. Good luck! ;D

The virtual state of Freeland is the same state as any other existing one, whether recognized or not. The global difference is that it is organized on a newly-discovered territory: in the infosphere. There is no logical reason to deny that this territory exists. There is no reason to deny that social and economic relations between people can technically be built in it according to different rules than ever before.

For me the most attractive is idea of self regulated society and decision making mechanism:

 The aim of the project is -  to create a virtual state of Freeland with MFC as a currency. So scrypt was chosen because of varaety of ready solutions that can be used to reach the goal (build Freeland) and not to invent a bicycle once again. MFC by it self is not a goal.

I belive in your ideas from the first Mr. Freeman appearance =) BTW, made post in my Facebook with 1900+ friends.

Being familiar to few people behind the official team of MFCoin project, I found out about it on a early days around August 2017 and since I really like lots of things about Mr. Freeman I started monitoring the project via all available media sources.
Within approximately one month I have noticed that there is a technological gap in the project that I might fill with my expertise and thus I offered my help to the team in order to participate and make things better. Since that time we are closly
working on different aspects of the Freeland and have rolled out few crucial parts of infrastructure for the use of the Freeland residents.

While crypto currencies are not of my biggest interests, the technology aspect is what keeps me involved in the first place and people around the project as a society in the second place. So with this in mind, here my two personal aspects of the project
that I am focusing on:

Technological

Being in IT for pretty long time and especially in the open source world, I was very surprised to see that behind such a huge hype about crypto and blockchain in general,
there are so few project (especially solid ones) and in general, the technological stack of the area is very small and mostly poor on quality. This brought me to the point that
MFCoin, or actually Freeland to be more precise provides me with a big platform for developing, testing and adjusting different parts of infrastructure around blockchain,
while bringing advantages and functionality to the Freeland as my contribution for utilising the platform.

It is a kind of a symbiosis between the Freeland and it's residents where the first provide the platform and the second ones utilise it and contribute back to it. That's what in
my opinion make the project pretty unique in the world of cryptos and block-chains, while it is pretty common to the world of open source.

More over, since time goes, I see more and more people getting involved and contribute back. If initially there were just few people (talking from the technical side), now there
are quiet a few talented individuals who constantly bring something new and exciting into the Freeland.

I really hope that in the nearest future we will be able to build a solid technical foundation that will not only be useful to Freeland itself (while it will for sure be at it's first place),
but also provide the outer world with the set of tools and technologies to help bright minds to make our living even better in any possible way.

Social

One of the main ideas behind Freeland is to build a society of people with common ideas/mentality/philosophy/you name it.

During the past few months being around the project, I met a lot of nice people and expanded my social network with individuals
from all different areas and industries. The best point here that working on making Freeland better together, the communication
with these new people and the collaboration is way easier then it would be in some dedicated team or a company. Such disperse community with
something common makes it very easy to seek for advice or brings you great feeling of satisfaction when you manage to solve ones problem instead.

It is very self regulated environment that appreciates good people and their actions while keeps away anyone who doesn't really fit into it.
The fact that Freeland lives in info-sphere makes the possibilities of this society endless.

For the part of actual MFCoin, I bet that in nearest future it will become the preferred mean of payment during goods and service exchange between
the Freeland residents. And probably that's the unique feature of this crypto: not trying to make highest possible value out of it in the first place, but
to be a convenient,  recognisable and valuable instrument to achieve a common goal in making Freeland a good place to live.

Side Note

As I am not a part of an official MFCoin & Freeland team, all of the above is just my personal opinion from someone who is involved in a project from the side.
I do really like the way things are going in Freeland, have huge respect for the founders and project team and have big hopes on this Freeland to progress and evolve into something big.

I have studied the project and completely I support it. I consider that Freeland and MFC are excellent attempt to come to more best society to most of which of futurists of all times aspired. I am also a supporter of the ideas of Jacque Fresco about the resource-focused economy and I think that Freeland and MFC is a huge step on the way to her. What you are saying here is very strange. I am following the project since August 2017 and Sergio always shows friendly and reasonable behavior. He is in charge of technical things in this project(wallets, pool, website...) all this is done in time (according to road map) and with high quality so one can conclude Sergio is smart and professional. If you did not agree with something it doesen`t mean it is bad or wrong.

Founders of the Virtual State of Freeland recently created in a newly-discovered space – in the infosphere, announced the admission of the government and administration members of this emerging jurisdiction. Let’s start with a spoiler right away, shall we? We do build this virtual state and its crypto-economy based on the laws and principles of an animated series for kids


This is not a provocation. Such a statement may not attract reputable investors and traders but can definitely help find like-minders. Funny as it may seem, this approach is 100% true and is the key success factor of our project.

Our development strategy has not been clearly outlined straight from the beginning. The virtual state of Freeland was initially quite an abstract idea but it dawned in Toonbox animation studio and, obviously, the experience of creating brand-new worlds in animated movies set its imprint on the project.

Though the face and the bullhorn of Freeland is the only character created by the studio for the grown-up audience – the notorious Mr. Freeman, the technology of creating a new universe of a virtual state is the same as that of a children’s series.

All of us bear a background burden of social technologies which were operated upon us in our childhood: fairy-tales, books, cartoons, scary stories, verselets. Our behavioral and social patterns are being nurtured at an early age. The market of children’s content is a much more complicated one that that of the grown-up audience. It literally has been a battlefield for centuries. Imagine, for example, all the efforts the church of any confession made to become an unmitigated monopolist in terms of influence over children’s minds. However, despite almost unlimited resources and tough competitive methods, it did not succeed in suppressing neither circulation of archaic plots nor uprise of modern stories and characters.

The strategy of Freeland is based on our experience and knowledge, thoroughly methodized and analyzed. We do not think that the idea of building an interaction system for grown-ups based on the experience of working with kids is humiliating. Vice versa, if one wants to bring home an unconventional idea, it is easier to explain it in a way you would explain it to kids.

So, we create a certain concept, like one of a series or a toy. We create a new social model of interaction between individuals by bringing it up for discussion to the participants themselves. We have a kit of certain interaction tools, artifacts, cards, in-game currency, levels, and bonuses which make the execution of such a model relatively time-efficient and relatively simple. Now, we try to create a whole new system based on these “toylike” tools. We are not 100% sure what will come out of it, though we have a certain experience in creating media products with an interactive (that is, undetermined) plot.

Since our goal is not the initiation of a new Bible, Bhagavad Gita or Capital, but the creation of a new venture which will engage and attract our future citizens, we do not need to resort to soggy pathetics, hints at holding sacred knowledge, proclamations on responsibility for the human race and other copper-bottomed manipulation tools. General personal assessment (like/ dislike, agree/ disagree) is more than enough.

Our crypto-currency MFCoin is another important tool on our hands. As of now, it only gives certain people a good laugh with a degree of scepticism. This is awesome! Most exciting children’s games still start from scratch. Let this stick be a sword and that bush be a dinosaur! We got lucky. We started after the half-baked hype and did not rocket to the Moon only because we have concepts like “blockchain” and “crypto” as part of our project. We need to explain everything really thoroughly. In our community which has already shaped around our concept we also try to keep the “And what if we do like this?” attitude.


MFCoin is one of the tools for building Freeland. We use our currency as an example of successfully established trust-based relations between separate individuals and inside the community as a whole.

The syntagm “virtual state” is another important in-game tool. The market of philosophical concepts, types of state systems and society development strategies is huge. First, our expertise in creating self-sustainable universes. Second, the ability to bring home to the general public our philosophy and know-how in a vivid and metaphoric way. During the last twenty years a number of brand new social networks emerged and have gone unnoticed by the leaders of the philosophy market since huge corporations do not see low-frequency requests in global search engines. We do. We actually are these people who make such requests. Now there is a certain layer of “intellectual craftsmen” and “informational farmers”. These people are either self-sufficient or self-organize themselves into small teams. They are extra-terrestrial and speak the same language. Their production means have a huge computation capacity with a next to zero market value. Their trading assets are placed within their brain case or in the virtual space. These individuals are our target audience and future citizens of Freeland. It doesn’t mean though that we are going to implement a software technology exam or interview on the history of cybernetics for our potential citizens.

Except for IT, there are a lot of other professionals in the list of new “craftsmen”. Actually, it is not even about their professional skills but about their self-perception and their dawning pattern of social interaction. Let’s imagine a situation: a citizen of Brazil who lives in Estonia, owns bank accounts in Singapore and Switzerland, works for three different projects in Australia, Russia and Great Britain. Plus he is a halfzee with a Japanese mom and a German dad. Who is he? Most likely, he is technically a criminal in at least one of the above-mentioned jurisdictions. And he only does 3D design or desktop publishing for life.

A number of problems such a person faces is huge. Due to new bank requirements each transaction is a hassle with loads of papers or data provided and lots of time wasted on that. All these incoming invoices from the project office, agreement copies, KYC identification, bills from energy service companies, numerous scanned documents, notarial certification and apostille services, provision of bank statements – imagine that? However, the number of such individuals who can hardly fit themselves in present state models and bank system requirements is constantly growing in the modern world.

That was the way colonial America was founded. This definitely was not the most humane episode in the history of mankind but Europeans felt uncomfortable in crowded Europe, therefore, they rushed to the West to embrace new lands and resources that Europe already lacked tremendously. Our future citizens do not need ranchos, slaves and mines. They just need some time and private space to work and progress. The colonization of the virtual space will neither be bloody nor merciless. But it will no doubt blow the media world.

The biggest danger while launching a similar project is to resort to pipe-dream idealism, rise a shabby and worn-out flag of anarchism and season it with a hint of libertarianism. But as we mentioned before, we are building a new something based on the principles of a children’s animated series. It is a unique project because we know that ideas taken from mothballs will not work in the multimedia market.

One last thing. Freeland is being launched to find a means of building a community of the so-called intellectual craftsmen with unlimited interaction opportunities in a convenient and secured environment. It can also be called a Union of Virtual Farmers. Whatever actually, since the social type of those interested to participate is too young at the moment and has no steady definition.

Freeland is not going to fight for anything as a political force or become a financial “monster” or a lodge. It is a highly-practical project created for searching non-violent conflict solutions between archaic but still existing state constructions and individuals who do not fit within their frames.

It’s all more or less clear but we need to explain what “cultural policy” actually means in a virtual and free-wheeling game. Of course, it is a misprint: should have been “state”, not “game”, but let’s leave it as it is. If the idea of a state comes out of the idea of a game, that would be great, otherwise it can be a laugh-in. It is also important to outline that we are talking about political agenda, not about culture administration, order placement, allotment of government grants. It is about consideration for all participants of the cultural process in Freeland.

First of all, in terms of Freeland, FREEDOM is not just a promise, but reality and area of practice. We know how to respect the rights of all the citizens without limiting the freedom of an artist. It is plain and simple. We advocate for tolerance and loyalty. We have secular, imaginative, and sacred space, like in a game. Constraint system which exists nowadays in the form of legislative bans comes more from incompetence than from heresy.
Art is being created by individuals, not institutions or, far less, states.
Cultural policy of Freeland is aimed at giving a chance to implement their own “cultural policy” for as many individuals as possible. Ideas, concepts, creative strategies and manifestos can be produced by artists or theatres, writers or galleries, by not by the state.

Therefore, in Freeland we divide all the activities into the following types:

Individuals – act
Institutions – create
State – provides facilities
Authority structures – stimulate and inspire

If we take a look at the state of affairs in the modern Russian cultural policy, we can realize that its major flaw is lack of access for an individual.

Extra-territorial nature of Freeland allows us to declare the major principle of the modern culture: TIME IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PLACE. All cultural political systems of other jurisdictions put emphasis on the territory. French culture, Russian culture, Montenegrin culture. There are certain differences, of course, but there are more differences between me and my grandfather than between me and my contemporary from Portugal, where I have never been, by the way. Contemporary culture means staying current, not standing on a certain ground.
FREEDOM in terms  of a virtual state also means freedom from cultural fetishism when it is not the image that matters, but his carrier. As a result, past is being valued much higher than present. Other countries burdened by cultural inheritance do not have alternative options; as for us, we declare actualness and publicity (replicability) as a natural quality of culture. Past is part of Freeland culture as much as present and appears to be a cultural landscape and background for creativity of an artist.
Modern business is a huge economy sector. Rapidly-growing business of spare time utilization mostly relates to the cultural sector (by the way, games are one of the most powerful rivals here). Hi, it means you have a lot of very small inputs and the transaction size is larger than the allowable limit.
You need collect them to one input by sending amount 100-1000 MFC to yourself. Or use manual control inputs: "coin control inputs" in the send tab.

An alpha version of the NVS contract standard for MFCoin Blockchain called "ArtGuard" has been developed.

This NVS contract acts as a decentralized intellectual property copyright protection service for various works of Freeland project participants.

The ArtGuard is now under testing, developers can create their implementations of this contract or use its recording scheme directly through MFCoin Wallet, which after hardfork in October was able to work with NVS (Name Value System).

Friends, we are ready to announce two more projects based on Freeland - PayMFC and PayMFC Donate!

Let's start with the free PayMFC Donate. This is a service for people who want to accept donations with MFC. The principle of the service is simple - using the bot (https://t.me/paymfcbot)  generate a link and post it on any resource where users will see it. When clicking on the link, you’ll get to the page with the only button - "Donate". When you click on it, your wallet opens with the address of the recipient already entered - you just need to enter the amount and click "Send"!

And now about the commercial project PayMFC. First of all service will be interesting for developers who want to both save money and make their life easier. Previously, in order to accept the specified payments in MFC on the site, it was necessary to install the wallet on the server, write a controller for it, and also from time to time check the received payments and compare them with the necessary ones. To do this you will need VPS or VDS. Besides, it was impossible to limit the time given to user to send money, which makes the whole system unstable. Now you can get rid of all this - with PayMFC you can don’t worry about expensive servers or system instability - this service solves both problems at once. For restore MFC in the new network you need to export the private keys from old wallet and then import the keys into the new wallet.

To export (import) a private key from your MFCoin Desktop QT wallet wallet:
launch your MFCoin-qt wallet as usual and wait for it to full load the blockchain and start up
click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
click on 'debug window'
select the 'console' tab
type: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
for export key type: dumpprivkey [your MFCoin address here]
for import key type: importprivkey [your private key here]
this will return the private key, you can copy it now; ensure you clear your clipboard/history afterwards
type: walletlock

To export a private key from your Android wallet wallet:
Settings -> Show recovery phrase
Go to https://mfcoin.net/recovery_tool
Input your recovery phrase to textbox "BIP39 recovery phrase"
Find your private keys below on the page in DERIVED ADDRESSES

To export a private key from your web wallet wallet:
Click gear icon (top right)
Click Export private keys

Electrum MFCoin server is working again! There were difficulties in adaptation it after the hard fork of the MFC, but now all issues have been resolved. This means that "light" mobile wallets and services based on electrum server will work again soon.
