Title: How to trade any Ethereum based (ERC20) token not listed in any famous exchange
Post by: IsuruMaduranga on March 14, 2018, 02:50:52 PM
Actually this is my reply to a question asked in altcoin section.
I thought it would be helpful to most of the newbies who are doing bounties  :) :) :)
So i post it here.

Decentralized exchanges let you trade most of the coins(tokens).  :)

IF the token is listed in a decentralized exchange use following sites.

1. IDEX - https://idex.market/
2. Etherdelta - https://etherdelta.com/

Using Etherdelta is not advised because of it had lot of security issues and down times in recent history.
Instead use forkdelta. Actually it is forked from etherdelta.

3. Forkdelta - https://forkdelta.github.io/

In some cases, some tokens are not in any exchange including decentralized ones. (Ex: Pindex-PDI is not yet in any exchange sadly)
Then we can use the smart contract of the token to trade. This method is very useful to buy some tokens very cheaply before they come to the market.   8)

The procedure - How to trade any token using the smart contract address

1. Go to Ethplorer.io
2. Search the token you want to trade in search bar.
3. Get the smart contract address of it. (Contract address)
4. Go to the url - https://forkdelta.github.io/#!/trade/<contact address here>-ETH
5. Refresh page again.
6. Now you will find the order book. Place sell order or sell to a order already there. If you want to buy place a buy order.

Happy trading!   :) :) :)

First to check if the token you are holding is already listed in exchange.

This is a nice explanation but this will be for a veteran who has been trading and are conversant with the ERC contract and some of the sites. Like it took me almost a day to understand the Idex.market exchange platform. So for a newbie you have to imagine how long it will take such a person.

DEX exchanges helped with token listings but the main challehge is the volume, if there is no volume to support a trade then it is useless placing an order on the exchange because it will not be filled unless one want to dump the tokens on the market which will result in further crash of the tokens

The author of the thread is telling people what to do if the token is not listed on any major exchange.
He is right for that if The token is just distributed and people are looking for an exchange yet the team doesn't have any,
IDEX and FORKDELTA is the basic exchange, ONLY FOR ERC20, NEP5 token will surely have one like this soon!
