Title: Web Developer - Available for freelance work
Post by: Chris Acheson on July 23, 2011, 11:45:08 PM
I have around 2 to 3 years of professional programming experience.  I work mainly with Python and PHP, though I've used many different languages.  My rate for contract work is $30 per hour if paid in BTC, or $40 per hour if paid in USD, and I offer new clients 50% off on the first 10 hours of work that I do for them.

My resume is available here (http://chrisacheson.net/resume/).  You can see some of my work on my GitHub account (https://github.com/chrisacheson).

References available on request.

Experience level? Previous work?

2-3ish years of professional programming experience.  Most of that has been desk jobs.  I'm relatively new to freelance work, though I've had a few clients so far and they've been satisfied with my work.  I can provide references on request.

The source code for most of my previous work isn't available, but I do have some examples I can show:

  • AEIOU (http://aeiou.cvs.sourceforge.net/aeiou/) was a digital bearer certificate system that I worked on a few years ago as a solo project.  I never considered it finished, but it is functional as a demo.
  • My github account (https://github.com/chrisacheson) contains some of the more recent code that I've worked on.

Feel free to post any further questions here or PM me.

Are you interested in JVing a project?

I have a membership site I want built. Would mainly just pull in lots of data like stock prices, etc. and let people input other assets/liabilities and then create financial statements. Would have a twist though with the data manipulation and save people a lot of time.

I know there is demand for this and currently nothing like it on the market. Mainly want a JV to tinker so new features, etc. can be added as the membership base grows without costs spiraling out of control. Also want to create iPhone/Android apps for display.

For the time being I'm only looking for projects that pay on delivery.

It isn't.  Unfortunately FireGPG is no longer maintained, and doesn't work in newer versions of Firefox.  I'm not aware of any comparable replacements.
