Yup, there is more threads on this subject, but all in all, it will benefit crypto world in some way. There will not be anymore those fake ads: how to become millionaire in 10 minutes and etc. So, in my personal opinion it's good.

yes two news came at once. i think these actions good for the Crypto currency. they are indirectly supporting the Crypto currency. advertisements for scam projects will be stop from this.

specially now filtered the ICO's very well. community only consider the ICO's on ranked websites.  BTCBTCBTCBTCBTC

but i need to say that these news brings red days to crypto but do not panic and sell your portfolios for lower prices. please be patient. everything happens for betterment

they probably have something personal on bitcoin)) this is my opinion and I can be mistaken, in any case it's not right, to ban what helps people to gain financial freedom...

I think Google made a right decision to ban crypto ads as it will really affect their image in a bad way. Don't really want to see a lot of crypto ads swarming around everytime I use Google and Facebook. Let's leave the marketing campaign to bounty managers and bounty participants so we can get more free tokens at the end of the ICO  ;D

These companies are probably under a lot of pressure from government to do so. Besides, publicity is regulated and therefore they have to comply with law to avoid scammers from abusing the advertising features of these platforms.

Of course there are many Legit ICOs that are going to be potentially affected by this since there will be less awareness for ICOs in general and they’ll have to focus harder on leads generated in specific sites such as this one.

On the other hand, there are tons of other potential scams that are being advertised every day and that are free to roam the fields of internet, but ICOs have made a name for themselves and been noisy enough to be under the radar.

The paradox will be when these companies decide to perform an ICO of their own…

Now it's just that Google started to fool Facebook, it seems to me they are all for one thing and it turns out that they are hacking the crypto currency and all that is connected with advertising on it

That's why market is reacting very quickly. Who are patient to watch the space of Cryptocurrencies in a long term then they will be rewarded for this definetly.

There's no final reason why google starts to ban crypto advertisement but there is a resemblance of making them protect people from rotating scams that are using their platform for those. Including youtube and other third party websites, this ban will also implemented. What will be the next biggest websites that will start to ban crypto ads? Twitter, yahoo, windows and other popular email providers?

Hi,

You may find it though from Internet giants to ban such ads but remember:

- The creators of these companies are now rather old. Not in age, but they belong to the previous Internet generation. Technology is evolving fast and thus they are "old fashionned". So they may not understand the potential of bitcoin.

- These ads were either promising things that wouldn't happen or directly lead people to scams. So preventing them for popping into anybody's screen is rather good.

- If we want to spread the word about bitcoin, we don't need ad or any traditionnal media. Telling about your relatives is a first important step!

So don't worry, be happy as says the song! ;)

It's really good for the bitcoin network, some people may not agree with me, but  I will explain.
Most of the ads that are being showed in facebook, google, and other major sites, are scams.
Some of them are mining contracts that the only one to benefit from them would be the one who offers them, some of them are ICOs with weak team that big chances that they won't come out at all.
We don't want that the first touch of people with the crypto world would be getting scammed. Preventing this ads is a good step.

Completely agree with your point of view. I've never seen ad ads related to Bitcoin or valuable coins (there are much better channels where to advertise good projects).

You know what is going to happen now? My best guess is, these companies are going to focus on smaller social media

platforms or Google's competition. { WeChat / Weibo / WhatsApp / QQ / Tumblr / Reddit ....} The opportunities are endless

with all the platforms that are out there. Bitcoin will not die, because large corporations like this wants to sabotage it.  :P

Word of mouth is stronger than any social media platform.  ;D

I think nothing to worry, because I feel it will not last long. More FUD means cheaper  coins and when its fourth quarter of the year, all  of them are racing to the top. Let this situation in Google, Facebook pass, or even buy at its very dip, you will not regret later.

They are just banning ico ads because of all of the scams, can you blame them?
These filthy ico money grabbers try to get paid from noobs.

As far as I know they both refused to show ads related to ICO not to cryptocurrency in general and it is good and beneficial for our community, because ICOs were scam or attempt to get rich easily for the most part. So the ban on ICO-related ads plus the increased regulation of ICOs is generally a good thing.

Take it easy, its just a minor adjustment on the part of Bitcoin. If it true that google will ban cryptocurrency ads, still many ways out there to promote the ico.

That's hardly gonna affect anything here.
According to me they are just making the bitcoin forum more popular than before.

i honestly agree with you, plan B is sure,  the focus will now move from Google to it competitors. I used to  know of one google competitor then called "mamma search" or so,  don't know if it still exist anyway.
The move for Google banning ads is a welcome development from me,  at least this will reduce the rate of scam project been advertised daily by google that turn to hurt people at the end.
It quite unfortunate that people have wrong interpretation to this ban

This can cause bitcoin and other crypto price goes down, but I think it just temporary if google can control crypto ads and only to release real and not fake ICOs.

Well same as the facebook that their planning to ban the crypto currency and now the google you know honestly its kinda alarming though and I think this issue is one of the reason why our marketplace is falling down cause of the panic sellers.

keep thinking positive, the steps taken by gogle have good impact for us and the investors, with this it is certain that the scam projects will be much less than the previous. Whatever happens to support cryptocurrency is the right step

LIKELY CRIMINAL CARTEL CONDUCT BY FACEBOOK & GOOGLE

This conduct is likely a breach of the s45AD Anti-Cartel provisions of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act.
I highlight relevant sections of the law below.

It is a contract, arrangement or understanding between Google (and its aggregators and affiliates) and Facebook which:
a) (Purpose Condition) has the purpose of directly preventing the supply of services (internet advertising) to a class of persons (cryptocurrency service suppliers & ICOs) by all parties to the contract arrangement or understanding and
b) (Competition Condition) where the parties (Facebook and Google) are in competition with each other in relation to the supply of internet advertising services.

This is potentially serious criminal conduct and subject to pecuniary penalties of up to 10% of FaceBook and Google's revenue.

Who wants to help me (an experienced Australian lawyer) bringing legal action?

I constantly think that scam ads are on social media platforms, and these ads that people who believe is worn away the public opinion of cryptocurrency. Bans have an aim for protection of users, of course, will have a positive contribution to the market. Maybe these developments will encourage and incent the opening of new social media platforms like Steemit and Lbry.

I consider that Google's ban on bitcoin ads in June is a good thing for bitcoin development because of the widespread ICO advertisements that commit fraud against participating people for investment in the ICO. The effect of news from Google's propagation is to make bitcoin prices in some marketplace decreased but not very significant because it has shown that bitcoin able to survive from all existing FUD news and it is very good for the development of bitcoin in the future.

These are dinosaurs stifling innovation. No one cares what they think anymore. Bitcoin does not need these companies to survive.
