So how did you all come up with your usernames?

I'm The Kid cause I started going to LANs when I was around 13 or so, and the name stuck. Not a terribly interesting story, but I'm in an interesting position where I'm no longer a kid really, but people are very used to calling me Kid, and I don't really want to get a new name. Maybe I'll just confuse people  ;D

My username is made out of my real name.

Ribuck is an old Australian slang term meaning "the real thing" or "genuine" or "fair dinkum". It's also spelled ryebuck, as in the Australian song The Ryebuck Shearer.

During my studies the sysadmins had some weird rule to come up with 8 letters-longed usernames.  They used to take the first 6 letters of the name, and the 2 first letters of the firstname.  With my name, this gave "grondilu" and I thought it sounded pretty cool.  So I kept it later on.

I occasionally listen to the noagenda podcast which has a large following of listeners . When I discovered bitcoin I first tried to setup a market site for people to list products like craigslist. I thought it would combine the two to get extra visitors.

I wish it was more exciting than that really :)

It's a pen name.

I originally made mine for an RPG character: Theymos Amastica. It was created without much thought, being only a minor adjustment of the "Thamior" and "Amastacia" names given as elven name examples in the D&D 3.5 Player's Handbook. I began using it for all of my online game accounts, as well, and then I used it even for non-game accounts so I wouldn't have to remember multiple usernames. (At this point most of my online accounts were game-related.)

I sometimes wish that I had chosen something better and more meaningful, though it is nicely unique: almost all Google results for "theymos" are related to me. It would be very difficult to change at this point, after using it for 5+ years.

It is the Chinese character for "left" and, so means "left" in both Japanese and Chinese.

Comes from a stupid french play on words : "davoûte plantaire".

EDIT : Later realized that a big parisian street was named boulevard Davout :D

My name means any unspecified or unspecifiable object; something one does not know the name of or does not wish to name.   ;)

I know this topic's dead but I wanted to be with the cool kids:

My internet name is Veltas Vandegere, I've used it for about 4 years now.  The first occurrence of the name is for my Guild Wars character but I liked it and now use it for everything.  My real name is Chris (Christopher), and Veltas isn't for anonymity reasons, I just like having an internet name.

But, what does it mean???

My username is short for Also known as, and then my real name, I have two last names.

I have no idea, I have been using this nickname for years out of habit/laziness.
