Post by: Eye16 on March 18, 2018, 08:39:17 PM
I am an investor and I saw that this forum misses a hedgefund ,everybody invests in their personal belives,it would be different with a bunch of investors that can analize the potencial of future projects and crypto speculations to make big profits , who wants to join with me?

For what reason? The very best people will not want to collaborate with many others who have little knowledge or experience in the market. There are more than enough profits to be made with their own capital that they will not need outside funds and even if they wanted to manage a fund there are much better channels than through this forum. A large part of this forum is people who have little interest in cryptocurrencies or the technology behind them and just want to profit.

A hedge fund for the people, by the people could be interesting, if such a thing ever did exist.  :)  Most hedge funds cater to those with a little more cash in their wallets and higher balances in their bank accounts, I'm thinking.

Of course, there's a question of market saturation. Traders who develop winning strategies in crypto trading might admit the less people utilizing a specific strategy, the more profitable it is. Multiplying potential profits being a factor of capital on hand, focusing on wealthier clients makes sense if profiteering is the motive.

It isn't likely that a good trader will accept $5 from 10 people to start a hedge fund. That's usually not how these things work, as far as I know. I applaud the concept of a small, independent, hedge fund not motivated primarily by money or profits. A community project or long term HODL that isn't a get-rich-quick-scheme, in some quasi form of delayed gratification would be cool. Maybe it is rare to see something like that these days though.

If you want to invest then why you offering others for fund, hedge fund is not better sign for a good investors! you can try to invest for gain profit via your own experience and own fund that's better for good trader.

I suggest also that the forum will filter the ICO or any project that is related in crypto. Filter in a way that the developers of every project shoud submit any requirements to prove that their project is legal. Imposing of law also is necessary in order to organize the ICO. Because at the end, investors are always lose!

The closest thing to this is  Coinbase's weighted index fund for cryptocurrencies.  (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/06/bitcoin-exchange-coinbase-launches-the-dow-jones-of-cryptocurrencies.html)

Quote
The Coinbase Index Fund will give accredited U.S. investors exposure to all assets listed on the company's current exchange, GDAX. The currencies will be weighted based on market capitalization.

But you could in your own do something even better. Like a top 5 or top 10 Index Fund from based on Coinmarketcap. Just choose the top5 or top10 currencies and weigh them according to the capitalization on CMC.

I think this news about Coinbase index fund did not have all the attention it deserved. This could be a first step to top5 or top10 cryptocurrency ETF, which would be a game changer for this market.

Why are we needed for a hedge fund, cause they only thing we're all going to do is buy bitcoin. Plus, this is just going to add a grossly problematic centralized risk to our fund -- where someone could just run away with all the bitcoin and we'd be FULLY screwed. It's better for everyone to just commit to buying, handle their own buys, sells, etc, and not have to incur the fees that a fund would have to have. It's better like this, and this is an amazing way to do things INDEPENDENTLY.

This forum - a place to express one's opinion. We don't need to make it corrupt

Everybody has a good persona view about this ! But it would be nice to remove all the useless projects and have a big part of the investors look just into a few of the projects . this way we can get rid of the scams and projects that have no functionality and just take your money with good marketing that distract you from the potencial down sides of the project
