I was thinking due to the high rate on how Ethereum is climbing can it reach $3,000 by the end of 2018? What does you guys have to say on this?

Everything depends on btc. if btc hit 30k or minimum 25k, yes, its possible.

Theoretically, of course it can. Will it? We can't say for sure. For it to reach $3k it pretty much needs to go up 5x, which is not a problem if the price increase this year will be similar from last year(though I kinda doubt it). Depend on a lot of factors to know for sure. Time will tell.

Bitcoin's price will rise soon so this means it is taking up also the ethereum. It is possible for ethereum to reach $3000 by the end of the year, even more than that

It can and it will,, but on what year is unpredictable.. Yes 2018 or the end of it,, the possibility is high in which there is no assurance that it will be reached on that period.. I’ll be honest,, I can give figure when it comes to bitcoin as it has much more value in terms of jumping from a low price to a higher price in a short time.. But ethereum hasn’t been in that position before..

if this month BTC back up then there is the possibility Ethereum will also go up, but if BTC still remain immobile.

This is almost impossible. I think the bitcoin will reach $ 1000 this year. The value of ethereum is falling sharply. The $ 3000 figure is exaggerated

If Vitalik'll show good and working update, so would see $1k or $2k

It is possible but I fear a couple year bear market and if that happens Ethereum won't be worth more than $500 when this year is over. Will be interesting to see who wins the battle, I have patience and will wait out whatever storm if needed.

Offcourse if bitcoin rises it carries every other crytocurrency along. But to rise of Ethereum to $3000 might be a long shot. But lets keep our fingers crossed. This is the virtual world and surprises can spring up.

This year may, but not exactly. Now the big players left the bitcoin with big sums, and most of the capitalization fell down. Perhaps they will now go into another asset and the market will again go up

If we are going to reach a Trillion market cap this year than this is completely possible.

Hello! Just out of curiosity - where have you taken the numbers (3000$ and 2018? :) If you would like to know my opinion - I don't think it will go up to 3k. This year for sure. But a lot of cryptogurus predict the bright future for ETH!

I don't think it's possible. Now the U.S. government is heavily regulating ico and cryptocurrency. Google prohibits advertising in ico. I think this has a big impact on the price of ETH. I think the price of ETH now has to do with ico. When ico is closely monitored, the price of ETH will fall a lot.

You forgot that we all are not from USA , and most icos don't accept US CITIZENS

I understand these types of threads are started to encourage discussion of a token's price but I never feel like you get any real answers from anyone that have a structured argument behind their prediction.

Ethereum is interesting cryptocurrency which is widely used by many companies and projects, but it will take some time before it will reach 3 thousand dollars. Ethereum lacks speed and scalability. Blocks are created every few seconds and even this doesn't help much. Transaction fees are higher than Bitcoin's fees and sometimes it takes a long time before transaction get confirmed for example during ICOs distrubuting their tokens which are usually worthless. It will interesting to see what Ethereum developers will think of in the future.

Possibility are there but there is no assurance that it will hit $3000,But currently all the cryotocurrencies are in the downtrend and ethereum also falling too much so we need to wait for orice recovery then only we can decide will it hit or not.

Surely their are some massive drop in the prices of ETH in past few days but ETH is a very fast growing coin and is used in most of the place's after Bitcoin . ETH will surely reach $3K in some month's and it can reach more high value in the future.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

It will eventually end up reaching 3000 dollars somewhow but we probably need more time than 9 months. 9 months is very short time, it may not even recover at all, I suppose.
Also ethereum tokens will explode in future.

I would think it is possible. If you bank on crypto reaching trillion dollar market cap which i don't think it is attainable. Blockchain and crypto will be adoption should accelerate this year.

Don't bother too much about those forks, i do think they are the extension of the original network. Their success or usefulness still unproven. But there are freebies anywhere.. Just don't put too much attention to it on your core investment objective.

My hit price is $2000 by December 2018

no one can only know about the price in the  future, just know from analyzing and reading the meaningful of the article that related to cryptocurrency

If Bitcoin reach $100K or something, this would make sense. Otherwise no, ETH reaching $3,000 would make it way too overvalued. What innovation does it offer besides smart contract? There are many altcoins who has better features and use cases than ETH.

Ethereums price might grow this year,maybe it can make 100% growth,but $3,000 is too much to ask,maximum of $2,000 maybe is enough since in this dip its price is lower than $500

Yeah ethereum has proven a good altcoin and it has good and brilliant team behind. I think getting to $3k is possible but we should not to expect too much as we are in a bearish market and some investors has discouraged with the current situation. Let's relax and hope for the best. This could still a good year for crypto.

I will be one of those that will be happy if ethereum does climbed to that value. I am one avid fan of ethereum. Most of my tokens were under it's platform that's why i welcome all good news that concerns this cryptocurrency. Ethereum is such a strong crypto. It has all the potential to be considered one of the world's valuable cryptocurrency. With the continuous development of it's blockchain to be more enterprise-friendly, what else can stop ethereum from achieving that value. I can't wait.

Well eth is at 500 now and we are at a 340b market cap. The market cap would have to 5x to see these kinds of figures and although unlikely it's still a real possibility giving the unpredictable nature of the space

Teeka of Palm Beach Group has recently forecasted total crypto marketcap going to $5 Trillion in 2018. We'll see if that happens in 2018 or takes as long as 2019. ETH and most cryptos will go 10x higher in such a scenario so $3000 will be easy to achieve.

I know that ETH reached 1.2kusd already but as of now it looks like those price might take a long time, right now most of alts depends on bitcoin's run, once bitcoin make a bullish run it will be possible for ETH to reach that but when is that gonna happen right?  :D

This is not financial advice, only an opinion. It's very possible for ETH to reach $3,000 by the end of 2018 if two things happen. First, the FUD needs to slow down. This will happen as the various regulatory agencies (SEC, CFTC, IRS & non-US entities) come to some sort of consensus so there's less speculation about supposed bans on crypto. Second, most ICO tokens are built on the Ethereum ERC-20 platform, which by extension gives ETH value. The problem is that when these projects finish their ICO rounds, the project creators typically dump a lot of ETH back into the market, trading it for fiat. Now that a lot of projects have reached maturity, this might be less of a problem moving forward, particularly since some ICOs are building their tokens on other platforms like XLM and NEO. We're doing our ICO on Ethereum because it's mature by comparison and has been tested substantially.

Yes it is possible Ethereum can reach $3000 by the end of 2018 but there are some factors to be considered before it reaches that amount, and there is still a couple of months to go so if it reaches a certain target then it would be great news for Ethereum.

It can, however, bitcoin needs to surpass it's ATH first. We all know that most coins gets pumped along with bitcoin price hike. So, I guess this is really possoble when the market starts to recover. Etherehm price as of now is 600 dollars and I believe he highest price this year will be $5000 and for sure that happen. So the price of 3000 dollars for the ethereum is very possible to happen . So better to buy more ethereum now and for sure you will earn a lot of profit in the future if you choose ethereum. This is very possible and we can actually see ethereum above $3,000 before end of December 2018 and I think in reality it might go above $55,000 .  Ethereum has making a very high progress in 2017 and if it can get up to half of the price we get in 2017 in 2018 then we would make a very great progress than we have. We should not think that because of what is happening now ethereum will not grow this year but I think ethereum  is going to grow.

It is depend on how matket move this year. If the market moving like crypto market in 2014 we probably can not see ethereum at $3000 in the near future but i still believe we will see it at 2021 when bitcoin going to $50k or $100k. It all depends on btc. As it starts to grow, the price eth also increases. However, achieving the $ 3,000 price seems impossible this year. Maybe it will reach the level of the last ath.

Actually, I think if bitcoin will develop with a significant value (  between 20K and 30K) then  it is certain that ethereum will reach 3K or more than that, because there is a connexion between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. As well, despite that the price of Ethereum has fallen with a big value  in this crisis and now it has become less than $ 550, but it is certain that this drop is temporary and  may only last for a few weeks. and after that,  I believe that the market will return to the rise. and ethereum will rise too.

Moreover, I do not think that in this year there will be a significant  increase in the value of Etheruem and It may only reach $ 2000 in the end of this year. In fact,  I think after a few years ( 2-4 years) there will be a good surprise in this currency , and maybe it will rise to over  than  $ 7000  (it is all depend to bitcoin).

if the market can be stable and the price of all the coins in cryptocurrency can be observed in good condition I think it can be achieved by the end of 2018 and it can happen despite the weight but must be optimistic.

To be honest - nearly everything can happen. ETH can be 100$ as well as 1500$ or 3000$; it's just absolutely unpredictable and I don't think that there is any need to predict something in such a long term. However I think that there is a bigger possibility for it to be 1500 or 3000 instead of 100.

Well for me we can't really predict when will the price of Ethereum will be huge but only thing I knew that Ethereum has really big future and I really believe on it.

I dont think ETH can rise that much in just a short time. until this month, ETH has now sign of rising back but just keep dropping more and more, of course i believe ETH still be able to reach 3000$ in the future but at least not this year but a few years from now, but i believe reaching more than 1500$ is possible for ETH in this year.

This is a volatile market with surprises. Can not see the front but the predictions are always set and we can believe it. ETH has reached the $ 1200 mark and I believe it will be at 1k5-2k this year.

$ 3000 per one ETH is a fairly high price, I think this ETH will cross the mark in 2019. But by the end of the summer I think ETH will cost about 1000 - 1300 dollars!

I think about 1200 1300 dollars in june or july. I hope ETH can come up again $ 1000 price. That is a wonderful thing. $ 3000 is really a price I can not think of until the end of the year. I think 5k dollars possible in 2020.

Irrespective of all the noise, it depends on the total market cap. When things go back up, they will be led by BTC. When we hit 500 bn again it is game on. The total market cap has doubled, tripled, quadrupled each year. Are we at the peak? Nope. Some say it will be 2 trillion by the end of the year. So if that is true, the market will be 6x what it is now (24th March 2018). That roughly equates to ETH being $3000 if the spread is even.

Nobody has a crystal ball. Lots of smart investors like Tom Lee and Teeka are suggesting there is up to 4 trillion to come into the market from May onwards. So that would be 12x of today, meaning the possibility of ETH being $6000.

But seriously, who knows. But I am hopeful.

The actual price of Ethereum is a little bit above 500$, so it is not easy that ETH reach 3000$ in the few next months, especially if the price keep moving slowly up and down like the few previous weeks. Vow ... I really can not believe that ETH can reach the $ 2,000 price. To reach this price ETH takes another 2 years. Currently the ETH price is only $ 500. There are no grounds for ETH to rise dramatically by the end of this year. I do not believe this is true.

Well since all other altcoins are dependent on bitcoin growth we will expect that increase when bitcoin increase in value significantly before the end of the year hopefully. If that happen I will be the most happiest Man here in the forum.

This is the most realistic forecast for this coin. I also think that this is the price that will be achieved by ETH this year. The surge in the development of this project was last year. But in 2018 there will also be pleasant events. I hope to see 3000 till the end of 2018.

speculation is okay but its use also the analysis and read the situation regarding coins for the time being. indeed nothing is impossible and the even good coin is the ethereum has ever reached the price of half of the price. i dont thinkit is completely impossible but it will be a long way for ETH to go in this year, the entire market is suffering huge losses from the drops of btc, it is so hard for ETH to reach to 3000$ at the endof this year, ETH is at 520$ now, and still recovering, if the market gets stable in this year, it is possible for ETH to reach 2000$ at the end of this year.
