Whatever kind of news being thrown to bitcoin I will not falter but support bitcoin. There are many kinds of news being thrown to bitcoin and cryptocurrency but most of them are FUD and manipulated with the purpose of creating panic to the public so that people will leave behind cryptocurrency. With the rise of cryptocurrency many banking systems are being affected since many people have used their wallet address as their bank instead of the banks. Cryptocurrency has saved my life from drowning in debt and thus I will be loyal to cryptocurrency and never believe such hoax news.

They say that bitcoin is being used for illegal activity but all currencies are like that even fiat currency. Anything that has value can be used in anyway a person like. So there is nothing wrong with cryptocurrency at all.

We can't stop only because there are people who are going to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for illegal activities. The same thing is with guns. The ban of guns won't be a problem for a criminals because they can always buy one on a black market. Average citizens wouldn't be able to defend themselves. This article looks like a clear advertisement of Ripple, especially this quote:

I've read the article, and the only thing I can make out of it is that the writer is promoting a society where everything is under surveillanve and under control. The idea conveyed in the article, especially the 'know your miner' is nothing short of dumb and pointless. The purpose of such a blockchain is to be decentralized and for the users to be somehow anonymous, and not be subject to manhunts and mugging in case someone wants to get their riches out of them. Websites not exerting the extra effort to check for mining malware isn't a problem created by crptocurrencies; such attacks are also present in fiat and cyberbanking by means of credit card fraud and phishing but these 'experts' don't want to ban fiat even if it causes many problems for people and the society as well. As for morality talks, how could you expect money to be surrounded by morality if everyone and their mothers want to get a piece of it?

Its like saying that we need to shut down the internet completely since there are viruses and malwares found in the internet instead of using antivirus or anti malware softwares.

We could keep our web filtering tool up to date.We could update our browser extentions since some atackers use malicious browser extentions for illicit crypto mining.

An anti crypto mining or ad blocking extention could be installed in web browsers to avoid cryptojacking scripts being delivered through web ads.

Exentions like MinerBlock or No Coin could be used to block crypto mining scripts.

This is something a form of criticism, many people now criticize about cryptocurrency business, and they don't think on what good contributions and benifits from bitcoin, they are people destructs on what others property. Hopefully bitcoin would have a strong defense against those people plan to destructs the total operations of bitcoin. And we all know that sometimes people makes any negative fake news about cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, and those negative fake news against bitcoin would affects the price value of bitcoin.

Oh, I've read this before. It's an extremely pointless article. The author basically argues that illicit cryptomining will take over the world, so cryptocurrencies should be made illegal before things get that bad. Well, illicit cryptomining is really just another form of cyber attack, so why focus solely on it? While we're at it, why don't we take things a step further and make the internet illegal so no one gets their data and/or processing power stolen?

But yeah, that's just about how stupid his logic is. You don't burn your house down just to get rid of a few vermin. I don't even think the author is stupid. He probably just really needed to write something controversial about crypto and this is the most original thing he came up with.

I would also like to note that the author forgot a dead simple way to stop most illicit crypto mining attacks: the NoScript browser extension (or ScriptSafe for Chrome), which everyone who wants to be safe on the internet should be using anyway.

and by shutting bitcoin and crypto down (if that was possible and its not) wont stop hackers and scammers from hacking and scamming.

this article is just designed to scare the general public and was conjured up by the author to fill space for him to get paid.

Shutting down cryptocurrency would actually being more harm then good. As first there is a sudden drop in the market for everything then there would come a time that those who integrated itself to bitcoin forstly would have this backfire at them. I think that the best way would be to have it regulated and this would actually make bitcoin more palatable to everyone

Why do we need to shut down bitcoin if its offer a great technology for everyone and a good opportunity to make money. A lot of criticism but I still believe in bitcoin and I will never sold my bitcoin base on this kind of speculation.

The article spins all around Permissioned blockchain and crypto mining (mining without permission of the owner), yeah discussing the problems and negative traits of the Permissionlessness blockchain without explaining the downfall of the other one bias on the other side, yeah you want to shut down all cryptocurrency but not the websites, emails and programs which contains spyware and malware? all of them comes from the internet right? you can also detect some illicit mining activity on your devices by simply monitoring the CPU and GPU usages there are tons of apps and extensions to block them anyway.

There a lot of people out there are still skeptical with Blockchain technologies while other party such as Bank are ready to seek opportunities adopt it.

Do we make decision to invest Bitcoin based on their opinion, I don't think so. Many parties are worried by Bitcoin popularity, it has become commonplace that the party will make FUD news to create negative opinion in market.

Funny thing is they are also promoting ripple, I don't know if how far fud can go to avoid bitcoin to be more adopted in the whole world, many
negative news has been created just to attack bitcoin growth, I know that it will bring to attentions of many investors specially those new comers

The whole article is completely pointless. Under the authors perspective, all fiat should be shut down. His arguments walk around the control of the crypto in order to stop money laundery and other illegal activities. His concern is basically that the blockchain is supported by the people instead of corporations, and he presumes that behind the blockchain system there are many bad people. To me, this is but a child's speech, based on the authors fear towards the new technology.
What he basically proposes is that the money, every type of it, needs to be controlled by corporations in order to have a "good use", for his arguments doesn't pay attention to the money laundery or illegal activities in general, but those made with crypto. Well, then, what happens with money laundery on fiat or paper money? He seems to forget about it.
Pointless, completely pointless and misinformed article. Even his proposal is brainless: to stop everything new, everything whose control does not reside on corporations, for the humanity, as some stupid child, needs to be taken care. His presumption is based on this whole idea: most of the humanity is bad, but corporations. Corporations are good and clean from his point of view, no matter, though, tax evasion, money laundery, even slave traffic, no, that doesn't matter, this is not even mentioned, for the most important problem is for corporations to have control over the people. Such allegations , assumptions and all those over the top words have been put up against bitcoin and crypto currencies in the pas too  . Don't you think that all these opinions comes out from some people who have a good influence of government and the government which is always opposing bitcoin ? Well you have my answer now .

Well, to be honest a few lines in the article got me thinking.
Not about shutting down bitcoin (lol), or that miners might use txs for drugs crime terrorism...that's the usual crap.

But miners nowadays are acting selfishly and instead of a a company like Visa that imposes taxes on the payments we have ended up with miners who are rejecting txs under a certain value and are preferring to mine empty blocks even while the mempool was full.
I was so pissed at some of the pools in December I wished that there would be a way to have your tx included in a block mined by a certain pool, or prevent your tx to be included in a block mined by pool x so I wouldn't contribute to their mining operation.

We need  a system which allows us to send free tx, unlimited transactions and high security with no chances of a 51% attack on the network.... a bit too much to ask unfortunately right now.
And of course ripple which is a bit too much pumped in this article isn't even close to being a solution.

this is already 12 days old. and it was created at that time to spread FUD and create panic so that price falls more. now it is over.

and i have only 1 thought about this and it is an interesting one:
bitcoin is a decentralized currency, which as you may know it is called as censorship resistance. what i am trying to point out is that bitcoin is not something that anybody can shut down. so saying "we need to shut it down" only shows that the person saying it has no understanding of what bitcoin is.

If they had the power to do such a thing, they'd already done it. Since Bitcoin first appeared, we've seen bans, blocks and regulates. The result is obvious.

Are we supposed to take seriously an article that promotes: 1) absolute control over cryptocurrencies, 2)the centralized bankers coin known as Ripple? the article mentions the issue with illicit cryptomining thanks to undetected softwares, and I agree it's a problem but, they forgot (did they?) to say that there are several ways to stop these softwares from running on your computer.

To me this is nothing more than another article trying to scare people away from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies...and I thought these kind of scare tactics from the media was over.

I read the article and I failed to see it as a strong reason to shut bitcoin down. Just because there are many attackers, it doesn't mean that bitcoin is not save. There is a tech so-called security that is able to save our bitcoin. We just need to follow the steps to keep our bitcoin save.

However there are so many smart hackers, but not all of hackers are bad. Good ones or white hat will work in security side to keep security system is able to protect our bitcoin from hackers. So I just don't think it is a good idea to shut bitcoin down because of bad hackers.

Great points! I couldn't agree more! Regulation and control is certainly not the answer to a few bugs which can be solved fairly easily. I'm all for controversial articles but having credible arguments is essential there.

I do not believe everything I read on a screen. You have to find out answers for yourself instead of letting other people tell you what to think.

I agree, the current system is certainly not perfect and there is quite some room for improvement. But then again there will always be advantages and disadvantages and I don't think it will ever hit perfection - particularly because that means something different for everyone.

its called ASICS
just 1 ASIC has the hash power of 13,000 high end PC's, so no one is stupid to risk their job mining bitcoin using insufficient hardware(pc's)

most of the illicit mining is from the altcoiner penny grabbing dim whits, not bitcoin community.

as for permissioned vs permissionless.. well fiat has been a permissioned system for decades, and in 2007 shown even those at the top of the permission list ended up being the most corrupt, thieves of them all

These kinds of articles seem to me a lot of conspiracy theories.Of course, security will be at the top level when depositing investments.Security is important for every investment, not just the crypto money.

in my opinion things like this article are quite good. the more the attack bitcoin the more resilient it will get. we have had a lot of these idiotic attacks against bitcoin in the past 9 years and you can see that every time people realize a little more that bitcoin is much stronger than they thought.

I know the article is mostly bullshit but I hope that they actually do try to shut down bitcoin some day. maybe some people need proof that a decentralized network can not be shut down by anyone ever! their failure will make bitcoin even stronger.

The guy is obviously an idiot, because he wants to stop Crypto mining with Permissioned Blockchains like Ripple. This is a push for centralization in both Crypto currencies and Crypto mining, which is totally against what this technology was meant for. Crypto currencies was not developed for Permissioned access and centralized control.

They also don't care if they make things exaggerated most of the time for as long as they made a story out of everything.

Iam wondering why now is there are many organization or some countries that don't want bitcoin and other cryptocurriencies is growth :). after massive increasing price on bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies in this past years, there are so many FUD coming up out there. believing this will making market more even worse into big correction. bitcoin grows because the belief in their community. thus, believing FUD will destroy themself.

The article is about permissioned and permissiomless blockchain which is synonymous to decentalized and centralized cryptocurrency. What lies beneath that the government and large corporations are the one who wants to shut down bitcoin as it may attract to some criminals to do mining to funds their illegal activities,  once a criminal is always a criminal. Anything that has monetary benefits are also attracting the criminals. Mining and trading cryptocurrnecy opens a door of oppurtunity to some citizens where you can transact minimal amount compare to stock market which require large amount of money to trade and invest. Its a FUD sir, There is no way that bitcoin can be shutted down. If it is way back 2010 then its possible but with the massive adoption of blockchain technology on every sectors in our world (financial, healthcare, sports, entertainment etc..) shutting down or stopping the crypto is impossible

Everyone of us have different perspectives about how the cryptocurrency adopt in their life. And we know that all things have metit and demerit. So for me, criminals are always in the sorroundings they find a good timing to do crime or baf things. We can't shutdown the cryptocurrency radily because we know all of us was have benefit in the cryptos. Why is bitcoin always suspected as a tool to launder money? Initially, I also think that way because of the anonymity of bitcoin users and the technology. However, it can not be used as collateral because during this time money laundering always happens by using fiat currency through transaction system service used by existing banks. Instead, I see that the emergence of bitcoin technology can be a solution to the weakness of the transaction system in the form of fiat currency. So, the conclusion is that no system is perfect for us to believe because crime always harnesses from imperfect a system and that can happen to bitcoin depending on the purpose of each user.

No one will listen to you here even you post a lot of negative about bitcoin because first a lot of users use this for so conveniece in life and no one force you here to do some business so if you experience bad or not good in bitcoin better for you to leave then after that find other that good for your life and actually bitcoin brings so much convenience so better to look what it's worth

I agree, bitcoin (or cryptocurrencies in general) offer something we haven't known for a long time which is not to rely on institutions for representing my financial interests or being able to totally intrude and affect processes in my daily life. They have their reasons why they keep on attacking bitcoin or the whole crypto. Maybe they wanted to buy at low price or they are just simply a hater because they don't know what crypto is.

Well I agree with you. But I am a big fan of open platforms in general to be honest and I don't mind reading these articles even if I think its total bullocks. But then I'm interested to see what the guys on here think about it. Always better to have an argument then just not criticise at all in my opinion.   

Moral panic isn`t good. So for instance if terrorists use phones, cars, air should we ban it? ;D Every invention and every good thing can be turned into evil. My brain hurts on so many levels right now. First of all, you could read something useful for starters. Second, if we shut down cryptocurrency then you should shut down all other useful things that people were afraid of, but today they can't live without them. Stop calling crypto the witch and stop trying to burn it. Learn the history and maybe you will see that humans go forward no matter what and not backward.

Very good point. Ripple is centralized currency and many among crypto community does not recognize it as a cryptocurrency. The objective of cryptocurrencies dies when we make it centralized, as it inherits all features of fiat currency.

Good luck to those people who keep on wishing for bitcoin to die. Not even the combined comments of some billionaires can do something to prevent cryptocurrency from going mainstream.  :)

In my opinion, you should not post this information, because they affect the psychology of some new investors. They fear and do not dare invest in BTC, some people are afraid and sell them. This will make the BTC more and more collapsed.

it seems you will never be able to make the price of bitcoin or other cryptoccurency to decrease in price because I see bitcoin and other cryptocurrency have very high demand which makes it difficult to decrease the price.

Media outlets have been used by some international organisations to stop bitcoin trading. Even though the market is highly unstable nowadays bitcoin is here to stay and a good form of investment for anybody who is good in market analysis and trading.

You have read the article and the only thing you can get is that the author promotes people where everything is under supervision and control. The idea is conveyed in articles, especially those who know miners. Yes any kind of news thrown into my Bitcoin will not waver but support Bitcoin. There are many types of news being thrown into Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency but most of them are FUD and manipulated with the aim of creating panic to the public so that people will leave Cryptocurrency.

I dont agree with any of the statements made in the article. They are straight forward mentioning that blockchain will be kind of threat to the humans in future as it is filled with decentralised nature which can lead towards the hacks, leaking of the data etc (my guess is that).

But I think through there is decentralisation of the blokchain which literally means that everything is based on the public ledger as open source doesn't mean that it is not secure at all. Every bit of info is irreversible in the blockchain and thus it become the strong link towards the protective layer. May be its just attempt to show how blockchain is bad.

Blockchain technology is here to stay. Cryptocurrencies are based on Blockchain.
To shutdown cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology must be shutdown first.  
Shutting down Blockchain technology will make a nation to become a big 'loser'.

For all we know this could be attempts by the banks and government using the media to sabotage bitcoin. We all know how bad our freedom is for them.

Personally, I do not see the point of closing bitcoin. He does not give peace of mind to many))) While the entire population it will be convenient and needed I do not think that it is worth closing it, you need to take into account not only political views but also human thoughts on this matter
