Title: Cointerra playing funny buggers with its users Its $13,999 not $5,999
Post by: rimbit on October 25, 2013, 06:49:36 PM
Looks like the cost of the Cointerra is actually $13,999 and not the $5,999 that most of us are familiar with.

Unfortunately, I am one that has ordered, so will I be asked for the balance now, or was the article they posted a typo?

The just posted this news on their site but it is an excerpt from a news story that was posted in August.

Nothing to see here...

Cheers...

Hello,
Thank you for your input. We did indeed list the December ship-date TerraMiner IV @ $13,999, and the January ship-date for $5999. If there is some confusion feel free to contact us here or via info@cointerra.com

That's probably correct.

After being stuck for a month fixing a flawed mock tape-out, chances of Cointerra shipping in Dec are slim to none.

It will take GlobalFoundries longer than TSMC to make the chips, because of their more limited and inferior 28nm facilities.

Chips most likely won't be done until mid/late Jan.  I'd be surprised if they shipped batch one before mid to late Feb.

Where's the Cointerra news thread, or is this FUD?

Can someone explain to me what's going on with their new service?

Check out: http://terraminehosting.com/

Is this just a hosting service for cointerra or are they selling us a 6/12 month contract to mine at 1 or 2 THS??? I'm interested in buying if i'm buying hashing!!

If they are late they ship out more hardware at the same cost.

where did you see this?

umm? i thought that was standard, is it not?

no.  i believe they will give you 20% the hash power of your late order, free with your NEXT order

only if they are more than 30 days late

you have to spend more money to claim any supposed protection !!

by the time you get that 20% "protection", considering your first order has to be 30+ days late, then you make another order (with the same company that was unable to ship your first order on time), that 20% will be next to worthless

correct me if i am wrong but i believe i am not, sadly, cointerras "protection" is no such thing :(
