Title: Custom Woodworking
Post by: BitCabinets on October 28, 2013, 04:35:38 PM
Hi everyone,

I have a custom wood working shop here in Brooklyn. We only do jobs in NYC and Brooklyn. I'm looking to start accepting some jobs who want to pay in BTC.

I'm looking for ideas on how to reach out to people in my area who know what bit coin is and who also need a beautiful new kitchen.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Craigslist? Local fliers?

I've met local BTC people through craigslist, though never found anyone that want's to trade custom CNC machine work for bitcoins yet and I honestly don't think I will for some time yet. Still too new for most people to consider.

I'd be really leery about hiring a contractor with BTC though, due to permits, leans, and all the other fun stuff. Maybe it's different in your part of the country.

I guess I could post in craigslist, that might be a start.

We have a pretty stellar rep here in brooklyn and I can always provide references. I'm just wondering if there are forums that one could list services for business that accept BTC.

Thanks, any other ideas out there?

Put out a few ad's on CL, nothing yet. Some jobs take a few weeks to build and install, So I'm not sure how to bid the job. With a %50 deposit on the job the final payment on punchlist could be vastly different. I think the best way would be to take full payment up front, but I've never heard of anyone doing that when paying even in USD.

But since there has to be some people in NYC that made a ton other the last few months and this can be away to spend some of your coin now.

Still looking for more ideas/help.

Thanks!

Why not get a site, and accept BTC for payments? You can use coinbases 1 click button system which is kind of like paypal.

You can try a site like Craigslist to sell your product. If that doesn't work, you can consider creating your own site and selling it there.
