Hi guys , what do you most prefer , holding bitcoins or buying altcoins which is have a good technology and for long term investment ?. I'm a little bit doubtful  where should i stand on . I'm not rich enough to buy and hold this coins at the same time.However I'm trying to figure out which of the  two much better . bitcoins have a old technology in blockhain compare to altcoins now which is they are more advanced but the prices  varies so  what your insight about this ?

What I've been doing all this time I often buy altcoins with bitcoin, because I understand that later when altcoins and bitcoins are equally ascending I will get many and many more benefits from bitcoin and altcoins.

bitcoin is worth considering as a means of saving, and alternative coins are already both a means of exchange, and a way of earning, where you can rent a lot of X's;)

Both of them are very profitable for me and I prefer to hold bitcoin for the current time, and stay up until the price goes up even higher.

Diversifying is usually the preferred method of investment. Of course, if you cannot invest in multiple coins then a popular way many people look at this dilemma is: start slow, purchase what you can afford in bitcoin and hold it as a long term investment. Later on you can start trading for your favorite altcoins using your bitcoins--before you know it, you've begun diversifying your crypto portfolio.

With any earnings you make you could invest back into bitcoin or high market cap altcoins (eth, ltc, etc) or into cheap altcoins--it depends on your preferred growth strategy (long-term vs short-term) and your willingness to get into trading. There are cheap alt-coins out there right now that have high growth potential and could make you a quick profit but you will have to be a much more active investor who researches and monitors the market meticulously. If you're new to the crypto world I suggest investing into high market cap coins or "blue chip" coins first to get your feet wet.

I really like everything between bitcoin and altcoins as everything is good for investing especially bitcoin and also ethereum.

The best thing to do is to hold at the same time buy. When bitcoins value is at dip it is time to buy more then when it goes up you can sell half of it and wait for another dip and buy again. I have been doing that constantly and it is good to trade between dollars and bitcoin since it is much easier than trading with other altcoins.

I've always preferred to invest and also trade in altcoins by buying it through bitcoin, because fast movements and price increases make me happy to do it in altcoins.

I noticed Bitcoin is preferred not due its popularity, but on technical stand point is different, as it drops slower, and steady... while on altcoins, they have sharper movements. I would wait and not invest in neither though.


It will rise. All we need is faith. What happened at 17k was a market trend that can reoccur.

For me since theres no one knows the run of market and faith of this coin or token, I invest in both 60% of my investments to Bitcoin and other 40% to altcoins. So if ever I fail to bet on Bitcoin and succeed on altcoin then its just okay.

I expect that a lot of altcoins will disappear in the long term, even though the cryptocurrency market continues to grow. I think Bitcoin will always gain value compared to most altcoins in the long term.

Actually both are equally beneficial but the role of bitcoin and its popularity can not be replaced with the currency of other countries,besides altcoin was created specifically to co-exist with bitcoin but bitcoin still holds the most important role in the world of cryptocurrency for example altcoin as ordinary metal that can be switched to metal valuable named bitcoin,so I think both are equally good...

I like bitcoin and altoin. Currently, they are competing directly with each other, but Altcoin can finally find a niche niche market suitable for Bitcoin, and each of them has its own role in the market.

I am also focused on holding on bitcoin than altcoin. I don't know why I am not interested for now to take part in altcoins maybe because I feel like it is hard to manage two separate coins at the same time as your money will be divided also to different coins but I also understand that having another coin aside from bitcoin (considering that coin is a good one) will also give you benefit if you managed properly.

if you have a lot of money, you can buy bitcoin.
because bitcoin is more potent in every growth. and bitcoin have a major effect on market development, of course, on crypto. but if you have limited capital, you can look for cheaper altcoin and have a chance to grow. this is the hardest part, you have to be more patient and try to find and examine it so you do not get stuck at a loss. So, try to experience and insight you.

To be honest never thought about the holding of the coins depending upon their technological aspects because it is not what I consider while making investment. I have always attached myself with the bitcoin as number coin in the crypto currency. I know that the developments will keep happening in the bitcoin and it is just matter of time when everything will be in Line and bitcoin will see spikes in terms of its use, market valuation, reality etc. So this is the reason I hold my bitcoins.

Considering the altcoins, they are like liquid investment and they might there today but may not be tomorrow. So just hold the one which you trust, which you think is being talked about more and show some positive signs of spiking in the near future.

I'm sure that you can have a good idea and an answer to the threads from above. A simple Google Search will help you as well, instead of opening similar thread which has been opened and all the answers have been provided. Maybe some of them are old, but I think it is still applicable to the current situation.

I've been trying to buy more altcoins that had a great potential and also hold bitcoin for long term, that's what I'm doing now. In this dip is a good chance to buy more and hold it until the price of crypto is going high.

I choose altcoin. It is possible that keeping altcoin is more risky than bitcoin because there are many new ones and may stop growing. If my choice is correct I can increase my property many times than hold the bitcoin.
Bitcoin value 2-3 times is very difficult but altcoin is quite possible.

I prefer altcoins that have an very good platforms like Educational Platform,Hospital Platform,Gaming platform and many more they do awesome they making own mobile app wallet not like Bitcoin Bitcoin dont have any platforms and Bitcoin dosent have ERC-20 Token like ETH.

do not worry too much, what if you do not have much capital to buy both types of coins. just focus on what you believe. surely you know that bitcoin selling value is very high in altcoin appeal. should you buy bitcoin and save it until the price goes up.

bitcoin looks so unstable for now. even that looks so bad, but so many very good news about bitcoin. well, but for now, I prioritize altcoin in btc, but it's all for bitcoin. I think a lot of people are doing that.

if to buy bitcoin certainly quite expensive even though the price is currently down. but still expensive and cheaper for altcoin. and I guess depending as needed, if you are a trader or an investor. of course you will have bitcoin as an exchange tool.

If you are going to invest in both sides and looking for long term investment. Both bitcoin and altcoin have the same thing because bitcoin and altcoins is a long term investment though some of the altcoins are short term investment. Also the meaning of bitcoin is the original or the king of cryptocurrency while altcoins meaning "alt" alternative for bitcoin. That is the difference between those two.

You can never have one strategy for all the market situation. Trading Bitcoin or altcoins or going for long term investment, is all dependent upon the market condition.

In Q1 of 2017, a long term (a year) hodl was profitable. In Q2, short term trade (1-2 months) was profitable. Q3 was good for shorting bitcoin and altcoins equally.  Q4 was amazing for short term trading for bitcoin and altcoins. Thus, having the same approach for trading and investing is never advisable. You need to change your strategy for maximizing the profit in the given market situation.

The Q1 of 2018, is so far good for day trading with the profit margin of 10%-50% or one can go long term investment that is for a year from the present price be it for Bitcoin or  altcoins. Right now, I am preferring Bitmex futures trading to short and long Bitcoins because of the high volatility in the present price.

For me I prefer to have this both but mostly I hold bitcoin and ethereum, most of my bitcoin is come from my altcoins bounty rewards that traded to become bitcoin and hold.
I hold some of my altcoins for long term that I believe has potential to pump someday.

As for me am pretty much interest in both holding Bitcoin and buying of altcoins as they has potential of making me hit my target profit in crypto currency ambition. Although some time looses are incurred as a result of decisions on either holding and at the same time buying of altcoins so, one need to be extraordinary careful.

In last pass year I realize that altcoin depend on bitcoin. If bitcoin price fall for 5% almost all altcoin will fall atleast 10%. That's why I don't really buy altcoin. I holding only bitcoin right now, mostly altcoin that I get from campaign I put on sale with x5 higher price and leave there , so maybe one day that coin went to the moon and spmeone buy it from me.

Buy when the price is low when selling at high prices to make a profit - That is one of the traditional trading methods of investors. For Bitcoin or Altcoins - I will depend on the market, the right time to make a final decision on my investment.

For now, I prefer altcoins because most of their price are very low and you can purchase much more tokens rather than bitcoin. But before I buy them, I make sure that their project is good and they are already listed on exchanges. However, I also have tokens from airdrops which doesn't have any values yet. I think airdrops are good for startups, you just need to promote the project and they will give some good number of coins and you just have to wait for it to be listed on exchanges so that you can start trading them.

Both have worth . If you are long term investor you have to choose both because bitcoin hold is always profitable and some altr currency also you can choose for daily trade. i am also doing this 

Bitcoin still plays an important role, I disagree with what you say that bitcoin has a long-standing technology. You can see that bitcoin uses blockhain technology. Blockhain technology is currently being implemented in some systems. Some of them are banks that have started thinking how to implement the system blockchain on the system they have today. If calculated then I would much prefer bitcoin, I think that the future of bitcoin is good enough and I want to make the most of the opportunities I can get.

bitcoin has the greatest value among cryptocurrency.
altcoins has the faster speed than bitcoin. it is up to you what you gonna use.
for me, as long as cryptocurrency in the market low, i will buy the dips.

Bitcoin and Altcoins are both good in trading crypto currency. Bitcoin is the mother of all so it has a domino effect to all Altcoins. It is safely to say that both are good so it is ok to invest to Bitcoin and Altcoins. Putting all eggs in one basket is very risky so don't worry if you will invest to other digital currencies. When investing to Altcoins, just consider those top 10 so that you can never go wrong about them.

If for bitcoin, you have to have enough money, because the price is expensive, although now the price is down but still it is still too expensive, more buy atlcoin that has advanced technology, and have good prospects in the future. but you must have atlcoin knowledge that you will buy, do not buy altcoin origin, because not all altcoi it has good prospects.

I think both are the profitable coin specially btc there is no doubt about that . for sustainable  crypto market we do need new altr in the market so many altr coin come into the market but not create a good demand because of the project was not good enough , i think after bitcoin eth is the best altr coin in the market .

I think you should use a combination of both. Bitcoins are much safer as they  had already proved themselves over the last few years. On the other hand, alt coins are very volatile and thus can be rewarding as well.

I like bitcoin because now i want to invest my capital in the crypto and it is good to buy now and wait for the future. We have to check the market regularly and when the price rise then it is good to convert some bitcoin into altcoin and in altcoin i like the Ethereum to buy in the future i will need money in the future for starting a new business.

I would strongly suggest you to invest only in bitcoin at the moment. It is gaining a lot of strenght again the altcoins in the last few months. btc market cap is about 45% already and still growing. Carefully monitor the altcoins market so you can buy at the lowest price. Altcoins will gain more %wise gains vs. bitcoin however if you invest too early that would not be the case for you.
Invest in btc -> hodl untill uptrend -> invest in altcoins. This is a general rule i follow and it is successful. Btw if you are not a gambler, don't invest into coins that are lower than 500mil in market cap since whales can easily dump those coins and you loose money.

There is no rule saying you cannot buy and hold both bitcoins and altcoins. All of the cryptocurrency investors I know have both bitcoins and some other type of altcoins in their portfolio. Can't put all your eggs in a single basket you know.

Everyone is looking for their advantages and disadvantages of a particular coin. Now it is difficult to concretize something, the situation with weaving in the market for trading is not very favorable. But, on the other hand, for you, as for a potential investor, that's excellent. Since you do not have a lot of money, I would advise you to choose something from the Altkoins, because I think that bitcoin is a long-term

For now on. I don't know wether which is bettter both bitcoin and altcoin. Because I am newbie, but I think both of two are better.

I prefer altcoins. It's more convenient to trade them. They are more flexible and volatile. For long-term investment, I choose with the help of the
Coinmarketcap website the altcoins that recently entered the market. Today I look closely at the CMT token, it's network should be launched the other day. CMT has already grown by 12 percent today. I think it will grow even more.

Nowadays, I do see Bitcoin as a longterm investment while altcoins tend to be more for quick and more risky investments, if you try to make fast money I would recommend buying alts  (and be a little lucky for sure) if you want to invest money more safely with minor winning marges, I would recommend good old btc.

Alts are not good to keep now. When BTC is going up, alts drops, when BTC goes down, alts still drops. So better stick to BTC. Or hedge your coins to USDT. Later on these cryptos will go up.

very sad to see the current bitcoin prices, as prices continue to fall. but if you want to start with a long-term investment, I think it is very suitable to enter the current price. and different if we want to do short-term trading I think choose one altcoin whose movement of hat is being relatively increased

trading with pairs BTC/Altcoins

You can buy some altcoin if you don't have enough money to buy both of them. I know your purpose is to get more amount, money from you have right now. My advice is just to buy some altcoin that under $1 on coinmarketacap or you can buy an ICO token with the minimum buy to participate.

This is good not to put all the eggs in one bucket and we should try everything but at the end you will realize the difference of holding bitcoin and investing in altcoins, I think the best choice is bitcoin because it has very high potential and we can get very high profit from it, with passage of time bitcoin is being more and more famous so price is increasing vice versa/ so right my only plan is to hold bitcoin and let my bitcoin make me milliner and get highest profit ever, you also should gain your own experience.

Investing in both of them would be great, better to allocate in BTC and few good Alts as well. BTC because its a primary coin, even still now, mostly uses this in exchange before buying alts. ICO also has this option as mandatory, other than ETH. Altcoin is important, as at peak times, daily users shift to altcoins, making it a good one as well, but gradually.

Bitcoin vs Altcoins, certainly Altcoins can show a lower rise but not a monetary value like Bitcoin, but the more you invest, the more revenue you will need to earn income from Bitco, but it is not so for subcoins you can invest in coins that will change and increase coin.

Altcoins here like eth,ltc and bch are good in investing for long term because the potentials of this three already see by now and the price is only low so that's good for investing because we can buy it now in low value then sell in high,Moreover always think twice before you do investing here because there's no assurance here in crypto but if there a chance to earn like investing grab that and take some risk that's all

I think you should be in between, meaning you should have a big percentage of bitcoin to hodl, and the rest you can invest in your favorite alts, either for their technology(future worth) or for selling them on their next pump to increase your bitcoins.

if you have not much funds to invest, i think you can buy altcoins instead bitcoin.
the market currently have a low price of them. you can buy some to invest.

For me both altcoins and bitcoin are profitable but I more prefer holding bitcoin for longterm because I believe that its price will go up and bitcoin has a big potential in the future.

I prefer to invest bitcoin because the price of it is so high and you need to hold it in a long term so you can gain a huge profit. Altcoins is good also for investment but you can only gain a small profit on it. So much better to invest your money in bitcoin than altcoins.

If you compare the altcoin vs bitcoin, you will earn more if you invest your money to altcoin rather than bitcoin, because as we already know, Bitcoin is currently so expensive. Most of the newly introduced coins are actually just made to steal money from people. There is no wrong investing on altcoin but its more riskier to invest than holding bitcoin. Since bitcoin is more established than other coin, the possibility of sudden break down is less. I have tried investing in some ALt but until now,  I dont get the return of my investment. Some alt like eth, ripple and byteball is a good coin also.

I prefer both if i have the resources i would invest on bitcoin and other potential alts. I would not compare them because nothing compares with bitcoin, the king of cryptocurrencies. Alts will always be next to btc.

Altcoins have been created to surpass the negative things about bitcoin but for me bitcoin is better than these altcoins. Im starting with altcoins but my main dream is to get to the bitcoins. In fact id like to have both. But ive started with altcoins (which are cheaper and maybe could get much more expensive) thinking about making a profit and then to buy btc.

I personally believe that Bitcoin is the master or prime currency of cryptomarket. Bitcoin is also known as first ever cryptocurrency made with combination of blockchain and cryptography.

After Bitcoin there are number of altcoins in market but till date value of these altcoins can be evaluated in BTC only. So without having value to Bitcoin, there is no value for altcoins.

I also agree that there are some drawback with platform Bitcoin using, and there are also solutions for it for lightning speed of transactions and minimal time for transaction. So in upcoming future Bitcoin will reach to height as no altcoin can compete with it. But still altcoins will be best cryptocurrencies used for micro transactions.

From my experience, altcoins (especially Ethereum) has given me a lot more profits when compared to Bitcoin. That said, some people may be having emotional attachment to BTC, since it is the original crypto.

The role of both is very important. You can not invest all the money in bitcoins. No doubt bitcoin is the most valuable coin and it is the number one coin for me for long-term investment when compared to altcoin, My stuff is about 70% bitcoin and the remaining 30% is altcoin. Even a small portion of bitcoin can give you more benefits in the long run than altcoin. I prefer both and I do not rely on a single coin. 8)

I do holding both a few bitcoin in my wallet and some few altcoins that i choose to hold for long term that i bilieve they can help me in the future earn a good profit. I know bitcoin is realy a good investments to hold but i dont have a huge amount of money to invest in bitcoin only and it very dificult to double your capital in bitcoin.
