What happened::

I had an auction and on March 19, 2018, 11:58:34 PM the user Topparkeds won for a bid of .205 BTC .

Having sold this person coins already with no issue at all, they said they would pay me in the am and sent me shipping details, so I stupidly sent the package before verifying I  had been paid, thereby trusting this user whom I have dealt with prior with no issues. (My bad, obviously) :P

They paid a small portion, then another, and then went silent. I Have tried in all best faith to give this user help in paying this off, however, they have left me no choice at this point but to post this.

After I pm'ed him and let him know he won the auction:

Anyhow, that Txid never worked, so I questioned him again, and told him if he can't pay eventually, I'd have to post (this) scam acc.

Additional Notes:

I Have this users doxx (Name and full address, other info as needed). I gave them multiple opportunities and waited a while here, but he still does not want to pay apparently. This was my last message I sent him after checking his last active time and comparing to my final note that I would be posting this and indeed, he must have seen my messages, so this is deserved .

If I don't get my BTC for this, I will be posting the users information in the Investigations sub.

Thank you again. He did offer me a postal order for 1k at one point, but I declined for reasons I won't state here. I was very nice about all of this, even now. I gave him a lot of time and options like refusing the package and I would pay him back even but never any replies but what I posted so far.  :-\

Damn, that's brutal. I understand that people can definitely get scammed by previous trading partners and there is probably more trust put in them, for good or bad. Guess that's a lesson for us all to learn, never ship goods to someone until you've received full payment or that escrow has confirmed that they have indeed secured payment in their possession.

Hopefully he can come out and pay this as he promised.

You're at an advantage here, though. He probably couldn't resell the coin easily since it's in an ANACS slab and that can be tracked quite easily if he decided to use an alt account to sell it. Also you've got the dox which you have every right to release if he doesn't respond say, in a week.

We'll see, it's a shame though that he has to be reminded that his dox will be rightfully released to the public if they don't pay. This guy probably wasn't going to pay back anything if you didn't have that dox. You should have his address as well because you shipped the item to him before he paid right?

This is just another case of escrow not being used/blindly trusting your trading partner. Shows that even high ranking users can make mistakes like this and it can be pretty costly.

BTW, did he give any ETA on when he'll send the rest of the funds(0.09 BTC that is)? Did he give any reason for sending his money in small chunks like this? Either way, he's not to be trusted even if he does pay back.

Honestly, it sounds to me that he doesn't have the funds to cover the balance at the moment, which just means that he should not have bid on the coins in the first place if he didn't expect to win.

Given that it has now been a week and a half and the payment was not sent, I would consider that a violation of the auction, and regardless of whether he pays you in full or not, feel that the negative trust rating is still valid.

If he would have been forthcoming and just stated that he doesn't have the funds, rather than playing this nickel-and-dime game and disappearing act, I'm sure it would be easier to work out a fair deal. But because he has chosen to be non-responsive, I don't see why the negative rating would be removed, even if/after he pays in full.

I agree with your assumptions - that's exactly how it seemed. I even told him he could just reject the package and I would send back the BTC.

What really gets me is that the price of BTC keeps falling, so I'm losing both TIME & $$$ here either way...  ::)

Yep. It sure seems like that Topparkeds just doesn't have the money to afford to buy the item being auctioned for now which explains the fact that he disappeared then reappeared when there was a concern with his dox being made public. Even now, he is saying that he will repay partially instead of repaying with a lump sum all at once, which means that he probably never had the intention to pay on time in the beginning.

If he had just come out and said that he made a mistake, it would have been more acceptable.

But apparently he decided that just ignoring the thread for a couple of days without communication will be alright, which is definitely not the right way to handle this. That's why I said as well that he shouldn't be trusted, even if he pays back.


I don't think that you can do anything about BTC falling because the whole deal was in BTC. Oh well, we're all in the same boat here  :P

And yeah, this is what happens when you are not careful - That said, I'm never shipping anything again until I'm paid in full - In this case, there were no problems before and I certainly didn't expect any this time, he was perfectly nice and honest before. I think he just didn't mean to win. I agree he should have just said that, or at least replied on this thread. He was on this AM, I talked to him briefly.

No explanation as to why such smaller amounts. but I will take what I can get at this point. I'm a quarter of the way there, that was a really nice coin too! :P

He has at least apologized for not staying in touch - I have been as nice as I can be, but this shit is a waste of my time. I have better things to do like make more $... :P

i admit i should of dealt with this differantly and take full responsiblilty. I have made 4 payments as of today and will have this fully paid off by this week. As a bonus i am sending owlcatz a unfunded lealana for the troubles on top of the balance

Always be honest even if it hurts, lies are hard to keep track of and you can get easily tangled up in shit.. I'm waiting for owlcatz to confirm this and hopefully he will get the full payment for the coin. Once that is done I will change my Negative to a Neutral rating on your profile, but only when and if owlcatz has confirmed.

Actually posting the dox of people you have obtained via non-public information is not allowed here. In order to publish someone's dox, you must have obtained said information via public sources.

It is weird that you trusted a newbie with over $2,000. This is literally the opposite behavior that I would expect of any experienced trader. I don't like it when someone fails to honor their obligations, even when they are scamming someone who is part of an extortion conspiracy, but you have to use a little bit of common sense to protect yourself.
