Manipulation is nothing new in Market. There may have little manipulation in Crypto too. But I don’t think not in any form of Cartel. This is just mare speculation. It’s pretty tough to manipulate a market that is based on decentralization.

the author seems to be mostly in favor of conspiracy theories and that is clearly visible in his writing. additionally i have a feeling that he is very new to bitcoin market and has failed to do his research about the history of bitcoin price and its ups and downs.

In my opinion I think that btc price is manipulated. Maybe there is a group of people who are behind the curtain which secretly turning the price down so that they can benefit from it.

It is interesting that the drop down starts when the CME opend.
Normally the price must have grown because of more interest.

In the early days it was proven that Bitcoin was being manipulated when the rate jumped from around $150 to more than $1,000 in two months. I would say it's harder now to pump verse dumping when large amount of coins are flooded into the market and sold at market prices. As the industry gets older and Bitcoin becomes more distributed manipulation will not occur very often.

I also think that as Wall Street and financial institutions pay more and more attention to bitcoin.
That has led to a lack of bitcoin, most of which is concentrated in Wall Street financial institutions.

Anyway I think this is the post regarding a cartel inside the crypto market. They manipulate other assets as well like gold and silver because of Bitcoin future and they are shorting it.

Well I do not buy it, This Conspiracy theorist always accuse something but they  can not provide any evidence about their claim. They might have their own agenda why they posted that topic. Probably they are the one who are shorting Bitcoin right now.

   

Thats the flow of the market, they can manipulate the price anytime they want. For example, if there are so many bitcoin, they  can smash the price in to a very low, to be obliged  the holder to sell their bitcoin in low  price, so we need to be smart, study hard the flow in the market .

Bitcoin and other coins are being manipulated by whales and some big investors, they make it always dump so that some newbie on this field would sell their coins on much smaller amount and after that whales will make it pump again and they will profit on that.

Yes for me it can be manipulated. This is the normal flow of the market that big and powerful investors can manipulate the market price anytime they want. Other bitcoin holders will do panic selling so its very favorable on their part to earn more because the price is low. So its better to patiently hold and study the flow of the stock market to be aware of what is going on and be productive as well.

Bitcoin manipulation at this stage of its existence cannot easily be manipulated.  In my opinion, Bitcoin price fluctuates largey due to government policies in certain countries or areas mostly on exchanges, and policies of some countries against its usage. China, Korea and other countries where there are OFF and ON policies on bitcoin/cryptocurrencies affect Bitcoin price. Certain types of news can also affect people’s opinion as regards Bitcoin and generally cryptocurrency. In my view, the usage of Bitcoin have gone beyond cartel manipulation.

I think all the coin prices have been manipulated because the rise and fall in coin prices is very drastic and probably does not make sense. what is the real cause, why coin prices can fly high? we can always see it but we can always get profit.

With the market being so young and so volatile, manipulations and insider trading would not be hard to perpetrate, all you need is a large number of coins at your disposal at anytime and you can do it.

BTC price is manipulated by whales whenever they feel, this isn't any different than the stock market.
The more the option goes under the light (f.e. BTC) everyone's want a share of it and who decide to put xxx coin instead of yyy? the ones who can move a lot of money to buy/sell and drive the price wherever they want.

I think that the possibility of bitcoin manipulation is most likely significant in the crypto market by whale investors who happen to have big amount of btc's in their wallet. However, even if there is manipulation for as long as you may familiarize the market trend then you can still go with the tide for it's pump. Be observant in the current market situation for you will still gain good promising profit in the coming months to come.

there is manipulation in bitcoin market but it is not even close to the imagination that was used in this article on Medium. and a certain level of manipulation is normal in any market, specially a small market like bitcoin that was so cheap not so long ago and now it has suddenly grown too big.

There are some cases that bitcoins price is being manipulated of many whales. For example they wanted to dump the price of btc, and they will. Not only btc but also alts.

I believe that bitcoin is being manipulated by a hidden group because how can bitcoin soars really high in just a month then drops it to the bottom, no one would love to see bitcoin drops more than 50%.

For me, it has been manipulated by a group of rich people and maybe government officials. In my observation, when the time comes that bitcoin is starting to rise there will be time that it will fall down again and then repeat. As we can see now, bitcoin hasn't rise that much within the last month. Maybe this is because of the manipulators who are manipulating the market at this moment.

Personally, I doubt very much that the price of bitcoin is manipulated. Let's not forget that this currency is based on a decentralized system that is the blockchain. To read the article, I have the impression that the author has omitted many things about the value of bitcoin. I remain skeptical that bitcoin is being manipulated, because it is this decentralization of blockchain technology that pushed me to invest in this digital currency as I currently do on the exagon site.

It is possible to manipulate the price of Bitcoin but the group should have the capital in billions to do so. I don't think that it's that easy but as we have recently experienced the game of big whales that pushed the price of Bitcoin and then the correction when whales decided to take the exit. It is comparatively easy in alt-coins but difficult in the case of Bitcoin due to high market capital.

Of course the bitcoin price is manipulated otherwise how do you think the coin has such crazy volatility? With no regulatory over watch the price is bound to be manipulated. But this manipulation is good for the bitcoin project as it is what attracts many people to bitcoin.

I also read this article which is a very indepth article with lot of information. I used to believe that bitcoin price is manipulated by the whales who has lot of BTC but afte rrading this theory of cartel i am taking this game seriously now. We have to sharpen our knowledge and skills to survive in this market.
We cannot be just sitting and holding on to the coins and expect those gains which we saw in 2017.

Who has a doubt that the Bitcoin price isn't manipulated? If it wasn't for the manipulation we wouldn't see sky high prices we saw few months ago and we wouldn't see rock bottom prices which provide a opportunity to get at cheap prices.

Those with large sums  of money in Bitcoin can affect the price as of the moment. Whether they are a group with good connections to the media or individuals trading privately. As of now, we can obviously see that large companies are trying to bring Bitcoin down. This is the reason why the price haven't recovered since the bans of cryptocurrency related advertisements.

maybe bitcoin hard to manipulated, why? because if you want to manupulated bitcoin price you need to have big money and big capital to amkes the price high or low, and we know that the price of bitcoin is bery expensive, if the other token and other altcoin maybe it can manupulated because the price is not expensive like bitcoin and the market about that altcoin still rare, so the "big whale" can play the price of that token or altcoin

I've seen the article before, and I agree that there is manipulation going on, but im not sure to what extent. What im sure of is that the elite can't stop Bitcoin, they can only temporarily manipulate the price, and if they want to continue being a major force in Bitcoin they MUST own big amounts, similarly, they own big amounts of gold.

So it's on TPTB's gain to actually have a BTC worth $1,000,000 per coin, if they are the biggest owners. If they don't do it, someone else will.

There is certainly some level of manipulation on bitcoin by cartels but i don't thin that it is very huge .
The major reasons why bitcoin gets so much fluctuating prices , ups and downs  is because of the events surrounding it and all the negative and postitive influence of the external environment . There are phases of bitcoin in a year and from past few years it has been following the same pattern , that might also make things clear . Moreover governments , bans etc. also plays a major role in it.

any market can be manipulated. The financial market it's self is pretty decentralized (even more then bitcoin). If you think of it over 50% of the BTC mining market is in china and is controlled by 4 organizations. What financial market in the world is more at the whim of so few people? Can you imagine the potential for inside trading here? And what's worse is that because of the de-regulation and pseudo-anonimity of bitcoin this is neither illegal, nor easy to prove. You wanted total freedom with your money? You have it. No rules other then jungle rules. Survival of the fittest.

That wouldn't give Chinese miners control over the market. All miners can do is add (or shut down) hash power, order transactions into blocks, and sell block rewards on the market. Miners do not control the supply. Like any "whales" in the market, they can only sell for so long before their supply is distributed (if the intention is to suppress the price).

The "4 organizations" bit is misleading too. Just because a pool possesses hash power at this moment doesn't mean it owns the mining hardware. We have no idea how distributed mining power is. At the drop of a dime, a lot of mining power pointing at Chinese pools could be pointed elsewhere.

I don't think it can be avoided. There are always people with enough assets to move the market and that applies even outside of bitcoin. We small fishes would have to learn how to swim with the waves these people create.

If talking about manipulation then I will believe. This is because sometimes there are people who have a lot of money / Bitcoin / crypto and they do something in the market and then do price manipulation. Yes it may take an enormous amount to do so. Sadly I am pretty much aware of general manipulations made on bitcoin price. Currency without country backup is never going to be that much safe except community trust. Some people try to play with trust so manipulate the price.

They manage to manipulate because of those people who can't find time to understand their investment, if they just know how the market works then manipulation can't be done easily, bitcoin is another way of investment yet also a currency that can be usable for those who knows how to use it for their

If one person owns 70 percent or even 50 percent of bitcoin i think it can be manilulated by the majority holder but so far i know that the percentage of the ownership of bitcoin investment are pretty divided. So i guess this is bitcoin price manipulation is just mere speculation.

Manipulations doesn't have anything with ordinary people and their investments. Economy is like that, if you know laws of economy you know the ways how you can manipulate with any market. You need money and product, with people on right places you move the price in the way you wish by controlling supply and demand. Today we have so many news about everything, they have been used to create panic or fever. Manipulators are not alone, teams and groups of people can do a lot if they have funds.
Look at the young crypto market, take a look on pump and dump groups and what are they doing. Clear examples how manipulations works. That is the same like with any market, just for the bigger markets you need more money, more everything.

Fall and increase in bitcoin price is due to investment cap. I think that there is nothing of manipulation in the price. I am very surprised that who will manipulate the price and with whom because bitcoin does not relate to a person, a company or even a country. Exactly, I totally agree with your opinion; it can't really be avoided. The world has always been made up with the rich and the poor. Sometimes the rich manipulates the economy for their own gains and this is the same thing that is going on the world of cryptocurrency. But looking at it in another way, the poor can still benefit from this manipulation if they play their cards well and are vigilant.

Bitcoin price as a whole, impossible to manipulate. Bitcoin price on an exchange, depending on exchange, volume, amount of traders, amount of orders, amount of BTC, yes, they can be manipulated, but for a short time before everything corrects. The world has always been unfair to people who don't have much. Looking at how the price of cryptocurrency keeps fluctuating, You don't need a specialist to tell you that the market is being controlled by the bigger or whale investors. They pump and dump coin for their own gain and we the little  investors have no choice than to look up to them and hope they pumps it.

It is possible that big investors have manipulated the price and they want the whole stock to hold on low price and sell them out on high price. Everything is possible in this world. Nobody is trustable. Low investors have already lost most of their money in bitcoin because of the fall in the price. Nobody understands why the price fall too much in the last few months.

Yes totally manipulated. Now they are going to say that their wallet hacked and hackers dumoing the bitcoin.

Yes, I think it is obvious. Look at the price changes during last couple of months. Clear pumps and dumps and often almost perfect flat regions between them.

I think ya see the market that runs until now, bitcoin manipulated by some people who have a number of bitcoin large enough or a number of people who have a lot of money. they do this only to seek more profit by making the bitcoin price lower and then returning it back to the top

It really is. But what prevents you to buy coins at a time when whales sell them in large quantities? So you buy coins at a low price and each time will reduce the possibility of whales. They are strong only when they own a large number of coins. Without this advantage, they will be regular users. I believe that this will happen in the future.

It is always been manipulated , its nothing new about this. A lot of people  are manipulating bitcoin in order to make some profit from him . They are spreading a lot of rumors on internet about bitcoin , bad rumors , lies in order to make bitcoins value lower and then to buy bitcoin at a lower price . There is a man right now which is doing this think ( there are more of them  but i heard just about one of them at the moment ) he is spreading bad influents about bitcoin and after that , like i sad , he is buying bitcoin at a lower price to make profit . After he has bought bitcoin he is starting to spread good rumors about bitcoin becouse he wants the price to go up to make a lot of profit .

For me the issue of manipulation of bitcoin price is not new in this place. I am confused before how the big whales do that kind of manipulating the price. They have more gain in return if the favor is for them it is like chasing what your price want to get and put it in banks account. Whales holders are reasonable of this up and down price.

it is possible to manipulate but in my opinion this bitcoin price movement is strongly affected from demand so when there is good news that can trigger the rise of bitcoin price then some people will buy bitcoin then bitcoin price will also rise, but when bitcoin is not good to be used again then bitcoin many are sold until bitcoin prices also come down.

Of course it is, it can easy be seen with this 200-300-400 point surges in less than an hour, only whales can do that and with no regulations - walk away from it.

As far as I know manipulation is a natural part of any market, that does not mean that you need to like it but you need to acknowledge that it exist, do you think that the stock market is not manipulated? Or the market of bonds? So it's obvious that the market of cryptocurrencies is being manipulated as well the only thing that you can do is to hope that you are in the winning side when everything is said and done.

With a marketcap of over $ 150 billion then I'm sure that the price is natural from the laws of the market, I'm sure there will not be any crazy people who want to manipulate the price because it takes more than $ 75 billion.

Tether can be a vessel for this manipulation to occur.
Theyre use could be viewed as a tool for this on the price of bitcoin compared to their own.
But that is up to what the buyers have to say about it once they use it and see what it does to the current price of bitcoin.
