Literally there are many here asking for merits but it is not readily given whereas some would say that we as newbie should beg or to cry over it. Hence, this is not the issue. The issue is all about not giving of merits where in fact they can. Maybe a lack of motivation in giving those merits. Maybe we as a merit receiver should also compliment those higher rank in another way this giving a reward system also just like a welcome.rewards. Mind you not all higher ranks are good in english and some of them are just posting shits also. i have seen and read their post already in the threads.

Some higher ranks and other Members are saving their Merits and their intentions are to transfer it to their alt account (or trade it). I'm not a 100% sure that even some Legendary members also abuse Merits but it is for sure.

Of course, not all Legendary Members can speak English fluently because some of them are from other countries like Russia, Korea, and etc, and English is not their first language. That's why we should not underestimate their post just because they can't write English properly, instead we should just understand it. But, it is necessary to post in English as long as you can post English post fluently and properly, mostly when you're going to contribute or post in some sections like Bitcoin Discussion and Meta as it only accepts English words.

If I were you I will make my point for opening this thread it seems like a random newspaper you read it somewhere else and when you got home a message is popping in your head like I can't decipher whether the news is classified ads or something else. :-\


Merit is an introduction to nuke every spammer like you and that situation is the least benign, the worst your size is not much to fit in someones ignore list.
If I were you study the right thing to become a community member and start your goals towards there it is only a matter of month before you get your first precious merit.  :)

Lock the topic OP and stop opening topics about merit.

In my case, I only have a few smerits left and the thought that whenever I see a good and merit worthy post, there will always be a much more worthy post and that mindset hinders me to giving my remaining smerits. This may be the case of other high ranking members also. I guess it would be nice if we have a merit reset every month or so, so we will not hoard merit waiting for a more merit worthy post.

What does it really matter if they decay or not? If they don't send them and they decay then they're useless anyway so there's no real use in hoarding them. Forcing people to give them out likely just means they'll go to accounts/posts that probably don't really deserve it.

Honestly, I can't be bothered anymore to merit posts because I don't read threads i'm not interested in. So if you're someone posting in a spammy bitcoin discussion or speculation thread, you're not going to get merited by me. Probably not anyone else with a right mind, either.

Don't you guys who are asking for sMerit decay realise the stupidity of your request if you are hoping it will increase your merits. If a member has unspent Smerit, then there is always the chance that he will like a post, and reward the poster. If you take away his sMerit, then that can't happen. If he isn't awarding sMerit, and he is being vilified for it, then removing his sMerit will probably be a relief for him.

Those ones are extremely stupid by suggesting such foolish idea. Nevertheless, I think demerit function or automatically merit-destroying mechanism will release higher ranked users and merit sources from merit beggars. Merit beggars in the forum tend to follow merit sources and prestigious users who often give their sMerits away. If we have such a new function for merit system; higher ranked users might like this one. They will be free their soul out of merit and merit beggars.

How will they know who has rotten, smelly sMerits, and who has fresh and vibrant sMerits?

All the smart people freeze their sMerits on day of receipt to keep them fresher for longer.

They must have a system for that for the sake of other s that needs a merit. It must have this kind of statement that if the user has a spare merit they must redistribute it or else they will deducted to their merit until it will reach the minimum merit for their rank.

Do you understand the difference between merit and Smerit? sMerit ( the ones that are given away) have nothing to do with rank.
