As time went by and Banks got involved, they shifted their attention to create their own Blockchain based technologies and Bitcoin was dumped like a turd.
The big companies will always find a way to "steal" the technology and to make it their own. But I think NASDAQ is the first to support this technology since 2013 by developing methodologies in financial transactions.
