This is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi - the most notable freedom fighter of India. Andreas M. Antonopoulos just re-quoted that in a meetup event. But that's what exactly is happening around the world regarding crypto. Initially when the cryptocurrency was launched in 2009, no one given a damn about it. If I look at cryptos today, it is one of the most economically strong industries and growing at fastest pace. Banks and governments have tried to discourage general people from using cryptos since all these years, yet we are the one who stood strong amidst all negativity. We are indeed fighting because we know we will win. Currently crypto industry is standing at a stage where no one can ignore it. World's two most strongest economies have adopted cryptos already and majority of other governments are showing positive interest on it. Probably it would take some more time, but we all know cryptos are the future. A day will come when fiat money will just be a number in our bank accounts without any physical existence.

I wouldn't go as far as to say as we're fighting. It has negative connotations after all, and all of this us vs. them narratives goes against inclusion, which is one of crypto's strengths. I'd rather say that we're working towards a common goal, and these "enemies" are simply hurdles that need to be overcome.

That's just me nitpicking though. I guess it doesn't really matter what you call it in the bigger picture.

To Win may be a somewhat exaggerated description, but I can say that they will have to accept us and adapt to technological innovations. There is no other way for them. Always as I was saying, the new beats the old one in everytime.

Indeed we are fighting. Not sure how long, the government is opposing the cryptocurrencies, the banks, they're all here for one sole purpose to demolish cryptocurrencies and completely eradicate it. All we have to do is keep believing in it and show these people who we really are and what is our power when we stand together. Everything has a good and bad effect. If we focus and keep emphasizing on only the bad effects then that would prevent us from utilizing it however good it might be. Just focus on the good effects and keep in mind the bad ones too and avoid those things.

The future is sure very brigth for  BTC and cryptocurrency, Governnment  and individaul will get to embrace BTC soon as a major form of  global currency, tht is sure to pay soon.

The quote is absolutely right. We can see it in how many governments that were against cryptocurrencies in the first moment have changed their minds towards more open-minded positions when they have realized the potential of cryptocurrencies.

Lets be real with this right now, the government isn't going to support bitcoin or any sort of currency which is going to lead to them losing the control over the currency which they currently posses. They're just not going to do that as they're not going to hand it over easily.

People must change from the bottom up to force gov, because it won't change from the top down, trust me when I say that.

Crab mentality pushes some people to laugh us. At first, they don't believe that cryptocurrency is real because they don't know about it. Many people are laughing to crypto enthusiast because they are thinking that this is a scam, not knowing how crypto will be in the future. Until the time came that the price surge and crypto becomes the center issue of our economy. We've thought that they will believe now because there is a proof that it is profitable but what we've expected did not really happen. Instead to congratulate us from the success, they make a way just to pull us down. That's life, we must think that people that hate us will never be happy even we success but they will surely laugh when we fail.

I can’t say that we are fighting however the quote is very relatable. Most have chosen to ignore bitcoin at first and when there was a hype just last year, they have been laughing because they are quite certain that people will lose their money with crypto. Now that many are profiting, this is when we win. They may as well be jealous of those who have profited, but they have chosen to ignore us and even laughed at us in the attempts to show it to them. Now it’s our turn to laugh.  ;D

Bitcoin has already won , seeing these numbers and how it managed to increase every year for the best is just the beginning of the journey .
Sadly a lot of people are trying to fight this by trying to spread FUD whenever bitcoin or cyrptocurrencies in general faces dips , not taking in considerations how many achievements have been made and how many profit did people already generate .
People who are afraid of bitcoin are afraid of loosing their power , because the power lays where the money exists and if the money goes through a tool that sends away that third party in the process of storing wealth , power will not be reachable any more and the people behind the concept of banks such as the Roschild family won't be in control anymore ..
Bitcoin isn't just money , it's an ideology and a anti establishment movement , it's a way of practicing our freedom and it'll never be taken away from us as long as we believe in it and try to drive it's whole environment forward .

It all depends on your personal goals after all. I personally have already booked a major win, which is that a certain part of my wealth is stored outside any central environment, and only I have access to it. I am sure governments know that too, so it can't really be considered a 'we are fighting' stage anymore -- we are beyond that already. The point here is that governments have set their main priority to be controlling the mass, rather than the tiny percentage of individuals striving for that what they believe is their right to obtain the freedom they so badly want and need. We all have that right and option with Bitcoin, but only a very few are utilizing this opportunity in their advantage, which is a shame -- people should stand up instead of following the mass like a herd of sheeps....

Now shift the months around a bit and you have ups and downs in contrast to what the image would like to portray. I think that Bitcoin still has a lot of way to go, and in order for it to mantain the top position in markets through this bearish sesso, proposed features for it should not remain stagnant. Bitcoin hasn't won in my opinion. It's always remarkable that it stays on top but it's a never-ending fight to keep that as is.

Definitely, there is a very good chance to Bitcoin become a future of currency. When we say that, a lot of people laughing at us. They got some fule because of the recent dump of crypto. But I think of someday we will get a chance to laugh them back.

You are right even today fiat currency is a just numbers, we need more awareness to let people know this fact.

This is for all those people who keeps looking at the graph's peaks and valleys, Bitcoin is not for day trading it is long term investment.

100% agree with if we are waiting that Governments will to make it legal, I guess it won't happen at least not that soon.

This  is what's happening exactly right now around the world with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. People against it are fighting us by all means they can think of. But no worries everyone, a day will come that freedom will win.

I have heard this speech and agree that it is really very inspiring! I wouldn't mind to be on  the stage We win) I think that in the nearest future this will come true and we will win not in our dreams but in the real life.

Looking at the graph's we easily forget about the long-term deflationary nature of Bitcoin as currency. This is something I learned from the brilliant lectures of Mr. Antonopoulos. Even compared to gold Bitcoin is much more deflationary (or soon will be), and as a result, it has already won as a store of value asset.

If I'm not mistaken, this is also something Mr. Antonopoulos emphasizes in his talks. Not only will they not make it legal, they will fight Bitcoin. They simply won't go down without a fight. Too much is at stake.

Actually they got no hold on bitcoin again because their realization came too late that is why they are fighting all exchanges trading on bitcoin

This is the very good news that we guyies are already at the stage 3 that "they fight with us " and i am even very suprised that whetre was me whwn we are at these two stages but now i feel myself very lucky tht i entered into the family when we are already at stage 3 and our next goal is the stage 4 that"we win" biut tyhe final destination is not that easy because there are millions of hurdles and obstruction in the way to win  with bitcoin because there are many who still dont want btc will become the central currency for the transaction.

We are seeing some major shift in the approach of bankers and investment into bitcoin, we were having a steady stream of followers and the market exploded last year when there was a major shift when it comes to bitcoin and it all started with Japan legalizing bitcoin and the ensuring fork and the idea of multiplying your asset with a split coin and the introduction of future market brought some serious attention to the coin.

I think the phrase of Mahatma Gandhi is suitable for the btc but it is also suitable for all the great innovations of humanity that were first mocked but then changed the course of history.

ignoring the "price orgasm" everyone has about bitcoin

thinking about the function/utility and mainstream adoption(merchants) bitcoin has NOT grown. its actually declined

as for the "they fight us"
actually i see that as they "invade us"
after all every time i see a topic about a country adding regulations. nearly every fiat loving profiteer that doesnt understand what bitcoin is really about cheers that it is a benefit for bitcoin.

businesses that use bitcoin do not need regulation. what is actually needed is consumer protection. which is totally diffrnt from regulation.

yet i see no community spirit fighting off bureaucratic regulations nor do i see any community spirit trying to attain consumer protection..

Funny,  most people I introduced bitcoin too,  laughed at me,  calling it a bubble,  time and time again bitcoin has proved them wrong.  Most of them are calling me now to come and lecture them. Only a change is constant, cryptocurrency is still scratching the surface,  yet to even start.  Glad am on board.

So what you are trying to tell is that they will invade and limit us, i know it is really hard to predict what the future would be, but they could try to invade us, but they cannot win all the time, they only thing i see coming up in the future is that every country starting to come up with centralized digital currency in a block chain and we might see a clash between decentralized and centralized currency.

well it is obvious bitcoin has won against all odds. despite everything thrown at it bitcoin keeps coming back stronger. sure we will win at the end

financial integration? through bitcoin or through cryptos?

i doubt bitcoin helps financial integration because financial integration can never be equal for all.

banks dont care about bitcoin.. to them its jsut business as usual.. a buyer buys a item and hands fiat to a seller.. to a bank its just fiat moving from a buyers bank account to a sellers bank account.
no fiat is actually destroyed due to bitcoin

also the bitcoin community is not destroying fiat laws. not creating a new community of anything better than fiat. infact the community of 2009-2014 has declined and it has become mor regulated less oppositing of fiat. and more accepting of regulations while still not bothering to protect itself from scammers or others that try to steal funds.

as for banks making their own coins.. well that will have little to no impact. after all no one knows or cares about what database structure a bank has, nor the banking network security. in the end dollars and euros are still digits on a computer. that occasionally you can have a piece of paper that rpresents digits on a computer.
but if banks use blockchain. it wont make any difference to citizens. all it will do is reduce the banks running costs because they no longer need to employ auditors or security staff becuse their blockchain is self managed.. that is it. a banker blockchain will only benefit the bankers and will only be noticable by those who stand behind the banker walls

as for bitcoin being decentralised.. that too since 20014 has declined. with it turning from satoshi-qt.. to core.. things became more centralised. where there is only one roadmap that was designed by one group and anyone that loves bitcoin but opposes the one groups roadmap are to be treated as attackers and need to be thrown off the network
the roadmap only had 35% community consensus(satoshis election coded invention) but the cores group decided to avoid consensus and do a bilateral split to kick out any core opposers. yep core got to 95% by kicking out 60% to an alt by using their partner BLOQ to do the bilateral split under the trojan horse that the split was a fair election... when infact it was a deportation

there have been 4 REKT campaigns and 1 bilateral split all to ensure one team becomes the monarchy.. where the devs that are paid. who wer part of this tyranical monarchy creation are all ultimately paid by the same group (https://dcg.co/portfolio/#b)
but hey. while this is all happening.. they wanna throw some kardashian drama about unimportant poeoples glory hounding story.. (craig wright, the fraud and nobody) all done just to distract you from the invasion

Which one? Be the change you wish to see? In any event, this singular change in the way we view money and transact is unlike anything we have seen before and because it challenges all the financial institutions currently in place it will have immense push back. Banks have all the power and money at this point in time, and they will fight tooth and nail to destroy Bitcoin. Too bad they will fail, because you can't shut off the internet 8).

Andreas antonopolos is without doubt one of the best voices in the space. The way he uses metaphors to explain concepts makes it a great introduction for beginners. Even veterans could do with going back to his books for ways of explaining things to newcomers. We can tend to forget how daunting all the new technological concepts may be to outsiders and a voice that can transition between the two is extremely valuable

That's from mahatma Gandhi, a person who embrace non violence movement rather than to use force against their enemy. English men thought that their movement is just a big joke, but mahathma gain monumental support around the country even around the world.

yes it is true the world is laughing at us they were laughing at us when people invested in bitcoins but they didn't when the price of each bitcoin had hit 20k
they were laughing at us when they though our money will go into waste as everything is a scam but look now this is the new future but still people are laughing at us and by the time they fight us we will be strong enough laugh back at them

Nowaday the world accept blockchain. 4 year ago no one could think bitcoin will be the factor which change the world. And now most of people are wrong. Bitcoin is the leader of new trend.

Andreas has perfectly described the current situation.But just a small chance that he described that we are in laughing stage in 2014 and now in 2018,we are in the next stage of fighting.Just the final stage of winning is to come.But the bankers would not let us easily to win.

it is in nature of some people to deny the inevitable. they get caught up in things that are temporary and then lose sight of things that really matter such as the fact that bitcoin is the only decentralized border-less currency that exists and it has a limited supply.
right now everyone is too caught up in the price drama that they don't pay attention to this.

This is a great speech and this things happen in every case. In every case when you introduce a new thing to the general people then they laugh at you without understanding anything. People do not accept unconventional fact. When they see that gradually it become important then they fight against you. In this fight some will join to your group by understanding the importance of your fact. And finally some will loose. In the case of bitcoin the same thing happen. Finally we will win an laugh at them.

Definitely, bitcoin will win all the battles for cryptocurrency. All the negative talks against bitcoin are the necessary speed bumps on its way to prominence and mass adoption. If Bitcoin weren't coming to destabilize the ancient financial institutions and their banking cohorts, nobody would be sticking it. While growing up, we knew a tree with delicious fruits by the array of stones lying at the foot of a tree after the stones would've been thrown at tree to get its fruits. It shows how interested people are in that tree. So also is with the Bitcoin. Nobody throws stones at tress with worthless fruits.

slow and steady wins the race.  more and more people are coming into the fold of bitcoin.  the number is increasing day by day.  when people will find crypto more profitable ; when they find it easier to transact then definitely they will start transacting via crypto only.  After the people start using crypto and so as a result the usage of fiat currency will decrease day by day.  This day by day decrease of fiat will finish the fiat.
So if bankers are laughing at bitcoin at present; then they shall keep them ready for a fight; and win for bitcoin.  Though I myself being a banker feel some sad that banks will finish in future but it is true that bitcoin will be better option for people in the times to come.

I think this is something we should happy at. This is the win of bitcoin over hundreds of nations, millions of people. Andreas M Antonopoulos has very well said , considering ourselves as a part of bitcoin, he said first they ignore us means that people initially ignored bitcoin and they laughed at bitcoin and then they will fight against bitcoin and in last bitcoin will win and we are at laughing stage and I think our victory is not so far we have to fight for some years only for bitcoin .

Yes it is really that they used to always scoff, laugh. But those who loved or supported Bitcoin believed that they would one day win. And now they win the war. Bitcoin has not yet fulfilled its expectations, but will fill in the future.
