Since the demise of the Newegg 5830 for $109 deal, 5850s have been the new sweet spot IMO.

Then everybody had to settle for 5830s. Thanks, that makes sense, but was before my time. I've been picking up 5850s when I can for around $150, and I'll take that over a 5830 for $109. I heard it can take several weeks before they ship though, which in the mining world, is an eternity. So don't buy these. ;)

My guess is that supplies of these cards are drying up overall, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that 2-4 weeks :) If anyone has seen 5850s elsewhere for around $160 within the last day or so, I'd love to hear about it. I agree that if you need a card right away, its hard to go with 5850s, but if you've already got a rig and can be a bit more patient getting more cards, then deals definitely pop up from time to time. But really, the same is true of 5830s since the supply for these is drying up too.
