Title: A very good guide on how to build a Bitcoin Mining Rig Cluster
Post by: eWoah on July 29, 2011, 06:07:10 PM
I wrote a very extensive article on how to build a Bitcoin Mining Rig Cluster! I believe this to be one of the best guides out there. Can someone please post this in the mining section, since I don't have a very well established account. I think it would be very helpful to many many people looking to start Bitcoin Mining. Thank you!!

This is a very nice guide.  I'm sure it will be helpful to new miners.

Thanks.. I might actually look into building a rig if I can somehow scrape enough money together (got enough money trouble at the moment though..)

No mention of dummy plugs. All in all its a great slide show.

I think with the 11.7 ATI drivers you dont need them anymore.

Have you confirmed this? I have not found any posts about 11.7 with no dummy plugs.

Ive seen several posts of people confirming it, but havent tried it myself.

Or you could stop wasting time and money on windows and just use Linux. No dummy plugs required.

You might want to mention MiningMonitor.com as an option, since it takes care of a lot of the hassle of watching your rigs manually (or via SSH/RDP/etc), and it is getting an API to receive worker health stats (from a script I wrote) for GPU temp, core clock speed, mem speed, fan speed, mhash value per GPU. In addition, Flexible Proxy also has a branch that I created that allows you to track those same health stats via their web interface. More on that stuff here:

Lol was reading the guide and then I recognized how old it is. Its a good guide for GPU mining, sadly though GPU mining is becoming less profitable. I wish I had joined & had money when bitcoin GPU mining began to grow.

Thanks!
