That way you can add up to 5 pcie16 slots with risers for future video cards also open air instead of a case for mining alone seems to produce the best temps. It's a stud, plenty for 3 X 5850's.

I have the Z68 Extreme4, and the bottom pcie slot won't fit a dual slot card. You'd need to use a riser. Title: Re: new mining rig - asrock 970 extreme4 can go triple crossfire? 5850 Post by: deslok on July 29, 2011, 11:24:19 PM if the bottom slot does or not is up to your case(the case does have a bottom) get one with 8 expansion slots you'll be fine otherwise go caseless. as far as crossfire is concerned it's determental to mining performance.
