Title: Sgminer and cgminer use by Innosilicon and Halong Mining - CLOSED source? Post by: kilo17 on April 12, 2018, 04:26:20 AM I am by no means an open source legal analyst but have wondered for some time how both Innosilicon and Halong Mining have closed source firmware if they are using open source miners. I have asked both Halong and Innosilicon for copies of the firmware without any luck.
While I know there may be parts that they do not want to share, I am unable to figure out if they can continue to use it without permission from -ck et al. in a closed firmware application. For those wondering about the Firmware Updates that Inno publishes, those are not complete firmware packages. Thanks in advance, I hope -ck can chime in. The codebase is still in wild flux so there's nothing useful to push yet.
