Title: Starting with Bitcoin mining
Post by: ForcedCommander on November 11, 2013, 11:19:45 AM
Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so i'll introduce myself a bit, I am Marco, I'm 19 years old and live in The Netherlands I study Software Engineer :)
First of all sorry if this topic is in the wrong section.

I am thinking of starting with the mining of bitcoins, if it is worth it :p
I got a server at home wich is already running 24/7 so I thought why not mine bitcoins with it to if it is on 24/7 anyways :)

I was thinking about buying one of these:
Butterfly Labs Jalapeno 5Gh/s BitCoin Miner - Costs 300 euro
USB Block Erupter by ASICMINER - Costs 20 euro

So my question is now is it worth for me for buying one of these or will I just lose money? :p

Server specs:
Intel core i5 2500k
16 GB ram Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600
1 Western Digital Harddisk 2.5" 2TB, SATA300
onboard graphics card :p
G-series PSU ( 300 watt i think )
OS: Windows server 2012

Well unless your buying the BFL locally or from someone that has one in hand then okay. dont buy it from them you will be waisting money.

Do keep in mind this. Ten to one you wont make all your money back rather you buy a BFL Jala or an eruper. You will make some money back. Look at it as a hobby.
