Title: Error Decrypting Wallet Blockchain.info wallet
Post by: someaditya on April 13, 2018, 08:44:42 AM
My Identifer is correct, password is correct, email id is correct and even 2FA is correct. I am 100% sure about it but I am still getting this error message. Unable to login to Blockchain.info Web Wallet for past three months. The Bitcoin is intact at my address but I am unable to access it.

What could be the problem ? Seems like lot of people are facing same issues since November this year.

I have stopped using Blockchain.info as of now, but if I can recover these Bitcoin that would be good.

Any help would be great.

Do you have your 12-word recovery phrase? If so, you could recover your funds by importing it to another wallet like electrum (https://electrum.org/#download)

Here's a link for a tutorial: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed/
*Don't forget to tick the BIP39 box on OPTIONS when you are prompted to enter your seed (the 12-word)

If you still want a crappy wallet, you could always stay on blockchain.info and enter the seed here: https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/recover

Something definitely seems to be missing.Otherwise, the error wouldn't persist.Have you download your 12 word phrase ? If yes,you 're safe if no,you probably can never access your bitcoin every again.(unless magically you input correct identifier/password combination)

Have you tried contacting their support ? They are good first step towards your recovery process. Not that it is going to change anything but will definitely be noticed if it turns out to be  system flaw.

This wallet can prevent you from logging in if you are using Tor browser or any vpn application
Code:
[use your old IP and browser] or cmd ---> ipconfig /renew.
try to check your email address and use it to get your wallet ID (you may be wrong in writing).
since you stopped using Blockchain.info export your 24 words seeds into electrum.org follow this ----> https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/66614

Hi , I don't have the 12 word recovery phase. I am 💯% sure that identifier and password is correct . Even when I am entering the details and trying to login , I get the approval mail. After Clicking it ,I get the SMS code on my phone. I enter the code and try to login. I get the Error Decrypting error msg. There is something wrong on the Block chain.info side.

There is two reason for this issue as I know.
1: If you have plugged in or added the VPN software in your computer you will find the issue on logging into any web wallet due to security reasons then next that.
2: Then browser cache may be filled and completely capture the data over there.
3: If you use the other desktop or mobile which does not used before to login here means also you will not able to login.
Check all these and work on it accordingly.

Could you try to delete the history and cache of your browser and download a ccleaner and clean all your browser history and cache.

Restart your PC and restart your internet and re-login again.

If this didn't work the only possible could help recover your wallet is the blockchain support, but expect for delay response sometimes they reply 1 week before you can receive the email from blockchain support.

Hmmm.. Then try the following--- although I can't guarantee anything

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies
  • Reboot your internet router
  • Try logging in through a: different browser; the app; different device
  • And yeah, don't use tor/vpn

Figured you might wanna take a look at this: Blockchain info | error decrypting wallet - check your password (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2683433.0), similar problem as yours. SO the guy basically solved his problem by logging in from time to time.

Im had same problem as u. Do u still have backup of wallet file? They send u this by email when u first sign up. If u have it u can use this file to make new wallet and access ur funds.

I get the approval mail. After Clicking it
You receive confirmation on your email address when suspicious or unusual activity is detected.(This means that your password is correct)
,I get the SMS code on my phone. I enter the code and try to login.
SMS code is a second layer verification.
I get the Error Decrypting error msg. There is something wrong on the Block chain.info side.
this means you activated Advanced security: "Login IP Restriction"
Only allow login from IP address in the whitelist. If you do not have a static IP address, this may lock you out of your wallet. If you have verified your email address, you will be notified of any suspicious login attempts.
Since you are lost access to your backup phrase, uncheck any program that changes your IP or tor projects with full deletion of all browser files and you will be able to access your wallet.

Hi, don't have the backup phrase that's the problem.
Could you try to login again, but this time use a VPN and try again. If this didn't work the only way that I think you can do now is to login your account from time to time until you get response from blockchain.info like potato chips said because I heard someone here that they solved their issue by logging in from time to time same as what happened to me before and I try to change my IP every time I login.

Once you're lucky to login you should backup your seed by retrieving it into your email for the future recovery.

The other way is to login via VPS, you can use the free from AWS because it's working fine to me when logging in with remote desktop in AWS.

Hope this help.
