Title: 1X Riser in 16X slot - GPU Not detected Post by: stabs on July 31, 2011, 02:05:40 PM I'm sure this has been asked somewhere else but I've searched many times and cannot find this scenario in any results.
I have a 16x pcie slot on my MB and I plugged a 1X -> 16 Riser in the slot however the video card is not being detected. When I plug the 1x ->16x riser in a 1x slot on my motherboard it's detected and works fine. Any ideas? I would order a x16 --> x16 connector, and maybe do the short trick while you are waiting for it to arrive (if you really want to mine this way in the meantime).
