Title: Bitcoin in China.
Post by: yourmomy on April 17, 2018, 09:24:51 AM
In March, the head of the people's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said that China will never recognize bitcoin and other crypto-currencies as means of payment. But already on 19 March he was dismissed, and the head of the Chinese Bank becomes his deputy. And on March 21, makes the statement "Bitcoin gives the opportunity and freedom to any person to enter the market of finance."

What do you think about this? Shift of China's attitude to bitcoin in a positive way or not. Or this statement to anything will not lead?

there are countries (like US for example) who don't recognize bitcoin as a currency but that doesn't mean they are against it. they can still consider bitcoin as a commodity hence the second statement is true.
in case of Chine things are always behind a cloud somehow. partly because of the bullshit media that spreads lots of false clickbait which they call news but also be cause Chinese have always been weird when it comes to bitcoin!

At first, I think that China governor Zhou is needed more time to think about it before he totally decided. We cannot blame his because I think he only doing just because he really care about their community but I think in the end he finally realize that bitcoin and crypto currency has a good and better things that can do for their community and their country.

Oh please.. stop spreading FUD. You are starting to make a fool of yourself now, and people are seeing you for what you are.

You are lucky that this forum allow shills as yourself to spread your poison. Gold investments is for the people who has no

balls to take chances in life. They only invest in something, if it is a sure bet. Everyone knows that the Gold price is being

manipulated by cartels. Apart from that, it is the most boring investment that you can do.  ::)

With the new bank governor with the statement of giving a chance for the crypto currency it will have a good impact, and I think it can also affect the price, because we understand that china is very influential for crypto.

So you're saying that gold investment is a "sure bet" and Bitcoin is not.  Since your post implies that the OP is correct, why are you trying to claim that it's "FUD"?

Considering China's fairly recent crackdown on exchanges and mining, I would consider it neutral to BTC at best and hostile at worst.

I don't think that whether a country regards it as a currency actually matters.  All that matters is its decisions on how to treat it for regulation and tax purposes.  If the Chinese government haven't made changes or planned to make changes to those things, I don't think it matters what their general impression of cryptocurrencies is.

Bitcoin has never* been banned in China. If it was then bitmain will stop operating the ban is implemented to all cryptos.

They are one trouble the bitcoin in the last year in a negative view. I hope now only they have understood the benefits and usage of bitcoins. Please invest your fund on trading field or elsewhere.
All the amount will be much safer since we are seeing the symptoms of the Chinese government's effort.
Hope we see the peak value again in the market, that is what my expectation about this move.

Sometimes I do not believe that bitcoin market in China is closed because china sometimes manipulates bitcoin followers so coins are sold and bought cheaply by Chinese.
It is true that bitcoin trading is very large in china and I am sure bitcoin is still reliable.

I think this is FUD news, China just manipulate us in-fact China has a giant bitcoin mining in the world, Chinese mining pools control more than 70% of the bitcoin network’s collective hashrate and this is huge, how they can say that they ban or not recognize bitcoin on their country!

Chinese government attitude towards bitcoin has not changed at all. they never opposed it or banned it or anything like that but at the same time they have always treated bitcoin a little harshly.
for example the crackdown on exchanges which was justifiable but also harsh at the same time since these Chinese exchanges were in fact shady.

Change of thinking of the Government of China can be a positive side for Bitcoin.because China was the most Bitcoin friendly country. but recently China was continuously changing their decision.they were quite confused about legalizing Bitcoin. I'm not sure about the news that China has already banned Bitcoin .but I have heard this. if China wants to be positive with bitcoin, this can  be obviously a good side for Bitcoin. I think so. because Bitcoin was invented in China.

the Chinese government has not stopped its attacks against bitcoin and they will not stop until China does not have that word bitcoin. governments like China are not easy, they do not care about their people, they care about keeping their people under total control of them and this is becoming more dangerous every year

Change of thinking of the Government of China can be a positive side for Bitcoin.

What do you think about this? Shift of China's attitude ...

I believe there is a typo in the title of your thread, you might want to take a look at that, because I don't know any place called "Cnina". This might be a strange new spelling that I am unaware of, so please excuse my ignorance if this is the case.

I don't think very much of this, but what I do think is that it is rather shallow and transparent. Over the span of a couple days there is a complete turnaround to how the government is viewing cryptocurrency. I believe that this was an attempt to see how much sway the Chinese government has over the Bitcoin market. They were curious how much power their words have over that particular market. I am sure they alerted their buddies of this announcement, allowing them to take positions that would result in a profit from their expected outcome. It just seems like a game that they are playing, if you ask me. I do not believe they have any plans of legislating Bitcoin in any significant, long-term way and will most likely manipulate it for their gain if possible.

China changes their position on cryptocurrency too frequently, so I wouldn't really rely on statements that they make.
Anyway china seems to be really unfriendly to bitcoin after the recent laws that they made against local exchanges in their country.
Anyway I don't agree with you, a country will never state they are against bitcoin, even if we are talking here about China, they will do some steps against bitcoin, that is acceptable, but they will never state that directly.

China is a country that has a great influence on the development of Bitcoin. Currently, the Chinese government has issued a ban on Bitcoin. The rich and poor in China are very clear. The rich in China do not want the government to manage their personal assets. They are concerned that the government will introduce high tariffs. They seek to transfer cash into digital assets, Bitcoin. The government says that Bitcoin is a tool for people to evade taxes, along with corrupt officials washing money ... So China has banned Bitcoin.

Also I do believe that China is also technologically advanced and has enough integrations on both its government and the whole economic sector that it can both sway and influence the going ins and outs of all those who are in them. China will continue to resist and they won't allow using cryptocurrencies anytime soon. It is not possible for them to inspect every citizen and see whether or not they own some cryptocurrencies. They will have to allow Bitcoin some day because they will earn a lot of money from it. Bitmain is a Chinese company, they earn million of dollars every year. We all know what is going on in China and how its governments work, they even firewalled the whole Internet. Time will show us what happens to Bitcoin in China. I am very optimistic about it.

In my opinion it is a matter of time. Gradually all the countries of the world will accept bitcoin and will allow people to deal in bitcoin. China also know the importance of bitcoin because china is the big exporter of almost everything and payments in bitcoin is easy than any other currency. China currently implements strict economic control measures. They do not prohibit Bitcoin, but they fear Bitcoin because they cannot fully control Bitcoin. I think that when the Chinese government manages to effectively monitor cryptocurrencies, they will accept Bitcoin again.

Well for starters, i think this change in the head of Chinese bank will not affect the whole counyry's decision of banning cryptocurrency. China government is the one eho made the decision to ban bitcoin not its central bank. In line with this, China's firewall are even designed to block anyone in the country who accessed exchange sites. So this is entirely the head of china not just the head of the bank of China to make the decision of banning bitcoin or not.

any restrictions and strictness in China has always been because of the fact that there has been a lot of shady activity there. for example you can not expect the government to stand still and do nothing while big websites call themselves exchanges and launder a lot of money.

Now, according to local media, China will block access to domestic and foreign services “to prevent financial risk.”
China has a long tradition of blocking unwanted foreign websites using the so-called Great Firewall of China.

“Overseas transactions and regulatory evasion have resumed,”
said an article published Sunday night by the People’s Bank of China-affiliated Financial News,
as quoted by the South China Morning Post.
“Risks are still there, fueled by illegal issuance, and even fraud and pyramid selling.”

Hardly. The People’s Bank of China has run trials of its own prototype cryptocurrency,
taking it a step closer to being the first major central bank to issue digital money.
China’s vision, however, seems to be based more on taking full control of such transactions in contrast to the libertarian aspirations of Bitcoin.
but then.... China often changes their position on cryptocurrency, so I don't really rely on what they say.

we will never know how China's attitude to the crypto world, is difficult to predict, even more difficult than predicting bitcoin fluctuations.

China is one of the largest crypto trading countries, many bitcoin mining places, but some bitcoin mining companies fear their mining will clash with the Chinese government's rule of banning crypto transactions.

some reasons why the Chinese government bans crypto because cryptocurrency is hard to control and worries used by criminals.

I hope what he says gives a place for the crypto world to enter the free market.

Miners create bitcoins by solving complex mathematical problems, for this they need powerful computer equipment. In China, their "farms" are located mainly in sparsely populated suburbs with inexpensive electricity and a cool climate. 80% of the power spent on the creation of bitcoins in the last 30 days falls on China.
According to experts, the simultaneous shutdown of facilities located in China is unlikely - including because China is spinning nuts in the turnover of bitcoins for months, and many miners already could transport equipment from there.
