Yes, it did work out, but it was an experience that throughout kept me in despair. The ups and downs of voltage, the fluctuation, etc, was something that could've literally ruined my whole rig. On the other hand, it was a petrol-powered generator so it was not efficient enough as well.
I then moved to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) instead of generator and it worked out good. You should do the same. Title: Re: Can I operate rig on generator's power? I have run 15 rigs (about 20,000 watts between them which included 3 Antminer S9's) for 3 days straight during a major outage after a storm.
This was a very efficient 1,800 rpm turbo charged Kubota 30kw diesel generator and there were no issues. My earnings were higher than the fuel cost, so it was worth it to me. Besides, it kept the rest of my house running. Would I do it with one of those big box store 3,600 rpm gas generators? No way! Title: Re: Can I operate rig on generator's power?
