Title: ForkDelta and Etherdelta
Post by: fairy_fries on April 21, 2018, 01:49:36 AM
It's been a while since I traded in Etherdelta. And I don't have any idea if it still working as before, where do you now usually trade your Altcoinstalks? Is ForkDelta the new trading site replacing Etherdelta? Pls give me some opinions to where it is best to trade . Thanks.

Forkdelta is just like a mirror of etherdelta. The environment is the same and I think that forkdelta is the mirror link of ED because lately ED was hacked and they need to back up their site for security purposes.

ForkDelta is not just a mirror website. It's actually what the name says: a fork.

IIRC they used the same contract as Etherdelta for some time but with a few modifications. But I'm not sure if they changed that.

You should read this post if you want to know more: EtherDelta vs ForkDelta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2986915.0)
And if you want to see ForkDelta's roadmap: https://forkdelta.github.io/about/

Yeah, ForkDelta anda EtherDelta is the same exchange, for now I never trade there. Now this platform exchange is too slow and sometimes a bit difficult in making deposits and withdraw.

Both exchanges are shit, ignore them and use a better one like binance. These two exchanges are buggy, UI is nothing spectacular, and are based off (in ForkDeltas case) on a site which was VERY SHIT and got hacked (Etherdelta)

I don't know why people continue to go back to these sites and want to use them more, use the real exchanges and then you don't have to face these problems. Poloniex is pretty much dead after it's hack, and rightfully so -- let these sites go out with pride and don't drag the dead house.

Forkdelta is only a split exchange of etherdelta , so whatever coins or tokens in etherdelta is also in forkdelta but forkdelta is much prettier than etherdelta because it requires only a amount of ether gas to trade and transfer.

Did you really inquire on which one of them are better exchange? then my answer is no one of them are good since they are the same awful exchange and wouldn't go for anymore further trades at any of that site since I am damn sure that they will be compromised just like what happen on Etherdelta itself. Better to hold your tokens and find those more reliable exchange where we can trust more.

For me much better the forkdelta than etherdelta because etherdelta is hard to trade it always logging and slowly than to forkdelta it's easy to use. And I think lot of traders now choose forkdelta to trade than to etherdelta.

Etherdelta has been the platform where most traders do their business and the advent of forkdelta is an added choice for the traders. Recently both platforms have emerged to be one platform. I personally do not like trading there because of their charges and  difficulty in depositing fund some times.

Forkdelta has more participants than ehtdelta because I think you should join Fordelta to make better purchases of coins. So see them as a dynamic market and generate income for you later.

Indeed, forkdelta is now being used by others and also by me because etherdelta sucks now like in slow ui interface. When selling or buying takes so much time to load. And I also notice when I'm placing order, it takes time to be success or sometimes fail to do. Unlike, forkdelta have much good to trade now so you should leave etherdelta behind.

Forkdelta is using etherdelta's contract so I think there is no another hacking risk involved, I do not use it much but it is probably faster than etherdelta.

I would recommend you to use Fordelta because first of it's more safer and why it is made is to replace etherdelta that has alot of lack of security which means you can loose your money.

The exchange is decentralized and running in a ETH smart contract. You control your funds. Binance is centralized and has full access over the addresses private-keys. That's the difference.

And Etherdelta didn't get hacked. It was a simple DNS redirect attack in the main domain. You could run the exchange source locally and do every trade you wanted to do.

I don't know why people continue to go back to these sites and want to use them more, use the real exchanges and then you don't have to face these problems. Poloniex is pretty much dead after it's hack, and rightfully so -- let these sites go out with pride and don't drag the dead house.
Yeah... keep using an "real" exchange until they get hacked and you lose all your funds (remember Mt. Gox?)

etherdelta and forkdelta is same. Forkdelta is the update version of etherdelta. you can choose kucoin and binance for trading. these site one of best for security. Also you can use hitbtc. Hitbtc is user friendly. But support team takes too much time to solve problem.

I wouldn't put my money in any of them!
I don't have a good diary of using crappy exchanges , No matter how much is the fee , i'd rather to use somewhere that i can be sure it doesn't eat my money , If you couldn't find the coin in some good exchange and you must use one of them to change it just use as an exchanger not a wallet.

I have traded in those exchanges before, but I prefer big exchanges now. Preferably good exchanges now are Binance and Kucoin, I like the ui and fluid operation haven't encountered any problems but I dont keep my coins and tokens there for so long.

I do not often trade in ED and FD. Because, as far as I know, they are not the official listed exchanges from the team or the project management company in / out. I often wait for them to have information about the official trading platform and many exchanges have more reputation. Sometimes, it is perseverance for each person.
- Binance, Bittrex...

I wonder why people are still using these exchanges even after knowing about the risk involved in these exchanges due to variety of bugs present in their software and database. Binance is much better and probably the best one so far because of their strong back end support, their priority is to ensure security and privacy to their users.

Forkdelta uses the same contact as EtherDelta and works much better. But i haven't trade there for a long time. I prefer trade Ethereum tokens on another dex called IDEX, it is more user-friendly and pairs have more volumes.

I agree mate, etherdelta will be faded soon and be replaced with forkdelta. That's right etherdelta was still actively trading, and it was just the same as what forkdelta was doing now but if you have that blockfolio app on you android it isn't updated. Etherdelta still the recognized trading particularly with eth platform tokens, but with forkdelta's story I guess that's more secured compared with etherdelta. For the past months this year many reported tokens being stolen from delta, and this time that's all fixed through forkdelta.

ForkDelta is obviously better than EtherDelta. Both are quite similar and it could be said that forkdelta is an extension of etherdelta. ForkDelta work better than the other. There are many performances issues on etherDelta. You don't need to create an order several times as on etherdelta. And forkdelta is actually not blocked for some countries as etherdelta, and you don't need to use VPN.

I use them both to trade some shitcoins. Of of the main current features that due to the low volume you may buy (sometimes) good tokens for a low price (just set buy order with low price) and then resell it on top exchanges. Repeated this few time with Rivetz token.

Use metamask only, don't share private key  8)

P.S. Anyone know what will be with etherdelta tokens that they was selling in winter?

I think the two exchanges are almost the same, people will sell their altcoin there first before altcoin gets into the big exchange. but the bad cost is very large from other exchange when we sell must require eth balance.

Forkdelta is just an improved version of Etherdelta, it is in its name a fork of etherdelta, it aims to have a ton of improvements and much faster order processing system, it has added it ton of fetures but still the same as etherdelta, you will be able to depoist both etehreum and ether, and etehreum based tokens and trade them directly with other users.

Selling tokens who's not listed yet to a prestigious exchange forces holders to use both exchange, I think they are just the same if you really look
inside their features, I also trade some of my tokens when I needed some emergency funds, but as of now I use IDEX as I find it more friendly and
the transactions is far faster than both ED and FD, you can also check it by yourself.

I use Forkdelta quite often since it has a lot of listed coins, but I don't really like it. It is quite slow compared to Binance and often gets hung in between. The overall experience is quite frustrating and I only use it because I have no other choice. Given a choice, I would use IDEX or OKex over this laggy website. But nevertheless, the fee is not a lot and it is definitely better than other even slower exchanges. So you can go ahead and use it as it is still functional.

I think etherdelta and forkdelta are the same functions. If I prefer etherdelta because the use is simple and easy to understand for the layman to the already proficient. It all depends on our own want to trade where it is

Title: Re: ForkDelta and Etherdelta
Post by: rachelia13 on April 26, 2018, 01:32:25 PM
I think etherdelta and forkdelta not much different because they both have a lot of tokens that have been listing and both have newly released coin listings from ICO or airdrop, so it is preferred by traders because of the large selection of coins.

But for the price graph is less satisfactory because of the small trading volume. Both Forkdelta and Etherdelta have advantages and disadvantages of each - although both have similarities. In terms of security both can be quite good and in terms of look both the same is less user-friendly.

I prefer Forkdelta because it's loading is faster and the transaction process does not take long time compared to Etherdelta which is often error.

I'm not using etherdelta now since the platform is hack and so slow I choose other exchanges to trade my altcoin it depends to what altcoin I have and where my altcoin got listed. Forkdelta is much better to etherdelta now because the platform of forkdelta is fast than to etherdelta.

Due to the recent hacked and data loses in etherdelta, I never use it again to exchange my coins. On the other hand, forkdelta is also like in etherdelta but I think it is more good and safe to use forkdelta than ED. The difference between ForkDelta and Etherdelta is significantly different. At a minimum, this can be called the speed of performance as well as it is much more convenient to use in contrast to the old version of Etherdelta.
I fully support your opinion. I believe that ForkDelta has become much more practical and convenient than the previous version of this exchange. Transaction processing speed is also accelerated.

I prefer to chooce Idex or Ethfinex for trading erc20 token because these exchange has bigger volume. When the daily volume is big so i can get high liquidity and faster transaction. And the open order is not canceled automaticly like Etherdelta or Forkdelta. Idex and Ethfinex also has better platform that offer trading view chart that more easy to know which support and resistance area.

Yeah maybe, thinking nobody will permit using their name unless it's the same owner or someone bought their name or have it franchise, something like that.

I rarely use etherdelta and not even forkdelta ( as of the moment ) because I don't want to put my private keys there because of the unsecured interface like once we put our private keys there we're not have a full control to it. Just use other exchanges instead.

I trade in three decentralized exchanges namely, etherdelta, forkdelta and IDEX. Forkdelta didn't replace etherdelta but it is a fork of etherdelta. All the coins listed in etherdelta can be found in forkdelta. I prefer forkdelta now because I have observed that the coins I traded have more volume in forkdelta than the previous one. Some coins that I cannot find in both exchanges would be found in IDEX. IDEX is gaining some volume too and I like that they have a prompt if you are sure with what you are trading unlike forkdelta and etherdelta wherein when you buy and sell, they would broadcast the transaction automatically so you are less prone to mistakes in IDEX.

ForkDelta and Etherdelta are a decentralized exchanger token site or a decentralized token exchange website or easier market that is not centered on a party. Forkdelta and Etherdelta have their respective flaws and advantages. The advantages are equally decentralized, auto login with private key, Forkdelta more stable and has never been attacked by hackers while Etherdelta Url is easy to remember. For Disadvantages, Forkdelta if using metamask must first login to metamask, display is not user friendly, Url is not easy to remember by beginner, transaction is not instant while Etherdelta is less stable, never attacked by hacker, display is not user friendly and sometimes error. For Forkdelta and Etherdelta are safe enough because they store user funds in smart contract ethereum.

It's been a while since I traded in Etherdelta. And I don't have any idea if it still working as before, where do you now usually trade your Altcoinstalks? Is ForkDelta the new trading site replacing Etherdelta? Pls give me some opinions to where it is best to trade . Thanks.
I have traded in two floors. I prefer ForkDelta, as there are more transactions in EtherDelta. Although the timing and form of trading on the two exchanges is the same, one side of many participants and the other side are few participants.

Both of those exchanges are scrappy. The sites are super slow and it hangs like a throttled network. I had expected ForkDelta to be a little more better compared to EtherDelta but It's all the same (performance wise). I think sub-par performance is one big downside with Ethereum DEX like ForkDelta, EtherDelta and iDex too. Bancor is  much more better only that the web3 wallet is only accessible via MetaMask.

In my experience, I chose forkdelta. Not my choice because of the convenient forkdelta or faster etherdelta. Which I choose because in forlkdelta there are many investors buy more, this place is much hotter than etherdelta.

Yes Etherdelta has become a platform where most merchants do their business and the forkdelta appearance is an additional option for traders. Recently both platforms have emerged into one platform. You personally do not like to trade there because of their costs and difficulties in depositing funds several times. Better hold your token and find a more reliable exchange where you can trust more.

I consider etherdelta and forkdelta not serious sites, it gives a lot of errors. And then the commission can also be withdrawn several times.

I think it is better forkdelta than etherdelta, because forkdelta there is always the latest update of coin ico is already finished and his site was not heavy to open and its fee is also cheap. However, overall these two sites have many similarities in terms of appearance and usage.

I don't use either of the two. It gotten much worse when they split up and they have so many histories of hack that I cannot afford to happen to me. IDEX has now replaced them and that's what I frequently use.

Forkdelta is the same as Etherdelta, which distinguishes both markets lies in the interface design. The interface design on forkdelta is better than etherdelta. But etherdelta already existed before forkdelta. I prefer etherdelta

Sell Ask and Buy Ask is less friendly, making it difficult for beginners.

I sell altcoins on both these Exchange should wait until 3 more months to turn into Bictoin because there is no Sell Ask.

too bad !

I usually trade on forkdelta. I find the deal more exciting here on etherdelta. But overall the risk in these two places seems high, as they are decentralized. Can change policies at any time without notice, and also have nothing to commit them to being honest with us. Therefore, the transaction should be reduced in these two places.

Comparing forkdelta and ethredelta I can say that fork better than etherdelta. Plus some teams strongly advised not to trade (buy and sell) on etheredelta because of security issues. I think etherdelta just slowly dying and soon trading there will not be at all. Six months ago, I was very active traded there on Etherdelta and there were volumes there some time ago, but now there is nothing special to do, so almost do not use. I think IDEX will soon replace all and will become the number 1 of DEX exchanges. However, sometimes you can use fork or etherdelta to sell something rare and not very necessary. Sometimes there is no other market for tokens except these 2 exchanges.

Both exchanges are crap nowadays. Were using Etherdelta earlier for trading some rare coins which can be found only there.
ED is without any development for almost half Year so I use ForkDelta.
Both are slow and almost unusable as Deposit /Withdrawal time sometimes takes several days.
They are not user friendly, do not recommend to us any of them.

I think forkdelta is better than etherdelta. As i know the price on forkdelta little bit expensive than token price on etherdelta, the forkdelta also faster in deposit or withdrawal your token or ethereum. While etherdelta, had some problem like attack by malware and little bit slow while doing deposit or withdraw.

Etherdelta and forkdelta have the same API. Both are the same exchange, but forkdelta faster than etherdelta. I always like to trade here, because forkdelta is a very good exchanger to buy a coin at a low price. I think Etherdeltha and Forkdelta is the same base. Forkdelta is a new one from Etherdelta core exchange since Etherdelta was hacked with NDS spoofing with some fix. I think Forkdelta stand to be a backup system if ehterdelta stop working and they make a mirror. I think Forkdelta have also sam problem with Etherdelta. For desentralize exchange, I think Idex is the good one for trade because Idex also list more token of etherum thought not have import contract fitur like Etherdelta/Forkdelta.

ForkDelta is like an upgrade to Etherdelta, which overcomes Etherdelta's display and search. But ForkDelta is becoming obsolete, and the number of users grows less and less. Currently, Idex is used as a listing priority after the ICO ends; now Idex is the largest decentralized exchange platform.

Forkdelta and Etherdelta are two decentralized exchanges that are being used quite a lot by investors. I used to use Etherdelta in the past, because it has an easy-to-use interface and a fast transaction, while Etherdelta has been around for a very long time, but still very slow.

Forkdelta is just like a mirror of etherdelta. The environment is the same and I think that forkdelta is the mirror link of ED because lately ED was hacked and they need to back up their site for security purposes.
If etherdelta got hacked, will the user's wallet private key be stolen too ?
Sorry, I still don't understand about etherdelta, They save our private key or not ?
Exchanges are not supposed to save your private keys. Your funds on ether delta or fork delta or any other exchange can be stolen on when you are coincidentally trading during the hack or phishing attack. And it is advisable not to leave your funds in exchanges because when these exchanges are hacked it is easier to lose your funds deposited there.

Yes, both platforms are the same, but forkdelta has a larger transaction volume than Etherdelta. So I think that trading is where it is, this is a decentralized trading platform, most of the trading takes place only to sell the tokens have not listed anywhere.

Forkdelta is the "fork" of Etherdelta and from what I have known, whatever coin is listed in one of the sites will be created in another but then take into account as well the orderbooks because it is not updated so you might waste an ETH in the transaction thinking that you can buy or sell coins only to find out that the price in the orderbook is not updated. Etherdelta and forkdelta should also update their chart because it's quite hard to trade when the chart has that interface. I would suggest tradingview to be use in the charts just like in IDEX.

Yes, forkdelta is the most popular decentralized exchange at this moment. The main reason is that etherdelta has lost a lot of users money + they had a slow customer service
