Title: Anyone notice posts not being counted?
Post by: jmigdlc99 on April 22, 2018, 08:29:05 AM
Never had this problem before but it seems like my post count stopped increasing when posting in the Altcoin (Mining) section.

After some digging i found that if you'll check my "lasts posts" page you will notice on page 47 there is a count of total 924 posts but as of this writing my post count is only displayed as 922.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I believe that post count increases have been removed from several boards, this is to discourage the uprankers from posting in them.

Hey thanks for the response. Am i not searching well enough or is it that I can't find any announcements regarding this?
Up until yesterday (April 21) my posts were being counted correctly as usual.

I haven't seen an announcement for that board, but Theymos did post that he was considering this, so it's a bit of guesswork really. Of course serious discussion and Ivory tower had this restriction from the beginning. Some boards also have sigs disabled as part of the cleanup.

I do believe that if Theymos did implement such a change, he would make a formal announcement (either at that time or shortly afterwards). It shouldn't be left to guesswork to find out which boards are not considered for post count / activity.

Can you reply to this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3366985.msg35302576#msg35302576) and remove it in a few minutes again? I've deleted it, since it's off-topic and you're offline.

This is what theymos said in a similar thread:
You have 3497 posts. 3 of them are in the serious discussion sections, which don't count. 6 of them are redirection topics, which don't count. So your post count should be 3488, which is what it is.

I've just tested (https://archive.is/r6eDw#selection-3677.0-3679.85) it, and I have no issues. My post count went up by 1, as expected.

Manager Lutpin told us that there is a global recount the reason why we are decreasing our post. I've also notice that I am losing posts. I have my post count for 3014 the last 2 days I guess and now I just only have 2979. So, any explanation for this? So we can be aware of this issue. Thank You!

As far as I know, the recount was a one-time thing.

Mods have been trashing Spam Megathreads, if you post in those (which you (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322489.msg34984418#msg34984418) do (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2630030.msg34986001#msg34986001)), you'll lose them once the thread is removed.

The solution is not to post in Spam Megathreads. I barely see my post count drop.

Mods have been very active from the last week and many useless threads have been removed. If you answered some of them, then your counting activity will fall due to the erased posts.
This is happening each day, they are working hard on cleaning up the forum and the activity disappears every time a thread you quoted is deleted.

Normally the threads on mining boards has been cleared by the board moderator all the time. Apart from this there is cleaning move done the moderators through out this forum. If you find these things while you are working for any campaign.
That time you need to make the additional posts to manage it mate.
If any manager count your post manually then no problem for you. lol

I was just assuming it was threads being removed rather than there being a problem. Atleast if the forums are being drained of all the shit posts it will eventually put shit posters off entirely.

Thanks for testing LoyceV. Did some posting on the altcoin mining boards today and my posts started counting up again.

I'm thinking now that it was just bad timing in the sense that some of my old posts were deleted at the same time i posted which gave the illusion that my posts weren't counted.
