Title: Network Hashrate
Post by: Alcuino on November 21, 2013, 05:12:26 PM
Hello:

According to http://ppc.coinmine.pl/ the ppc Network Hashrate is : 0.730 GH/s

But to http://zet.coinmine.pl/ the Network Hashrate is: 60.495 GH/s

How is it possible that a coin less developed have a higher hasrate?

Al

The hash rate is a reflection of how many people/computing power are mining for it.

The miners are competing to win the coin reward and to keep the amount of new coins entering supply stable the difficulty of mining is raised or lowered.

im not an an expert and i dont know if this adresses your question but i have to make a first in the newbie section.

i guess different coins can use different hash algorithms so if a coin has an easy hash algorithm then i might be possible for one cpu to generate 100 hashes per second but only 1 hash per second another coin with a more complex hash algorithm..?
