im new obviously and im trying to get my hands on my first bitcoin and all the websites give me a insignificant number which is never ganna get me to where I want to be. help anyone? any cool sites or vids to get me free btc's thanks! :-[

You aren't going to earn 1 BTC by using free sites, accept it.

There is no free lunch. But you can earn BTC if you have a skill and can find people in demand of that skill.

He's right, no one is going to give you hundreds of dollars. Think about how you might get other forms of money. You could sell something, you could work for it, you could buy it with another currency, you could invest $20k on a mining rig and mine some.

Also, with my last post faucets I didn't mean faucets are completely useless. If you have a lot of free time and accept you'll only earn about 0.01 BTC/month, go ahead and use them. If not, don't use them.

You can't get 550 euro's for free. You can buy a bitcoin on an exchange, or earn it by doing jobs for people.

faucets are pretty bunk. for a few freebies, head to the gambling subforums. there's a few bitcents in giveaways over there. better than faucets, anyway. a whole BTC? that'll take a while....

I remember early this year it was possible to get 0,01 BTC daily from free faucets, but today not anymore. But the price was 20 USD / BTC only

Easiest is buy some, not necessary full Bitcoin

In amount 1 month, I was able to accumulate 0.4BTC for free without depositing a single dollar.
Now the price was around $200 back then, but still.  If you want to get free BTC...there are ways!

What about mining?  Mine alt coins and sell them for BTC.

You aren't going to mine $750 USD worth of coins, of ANY coins for that matter, in a reasonable time period, without buying specialized mining equipment.
The best way to obtain 1 Bitcoin is win it in a contest, sell services or goods, or the old fashioned way.  Buying it.

I would suggest going to a Fetish site or forum and offer to do crazy stuff on webcam for them.
Explain that you only accept payments in BITCOIN.

then get them to do all the work to get the currency, and you just do some really whacked out stuff on webcam.... easy coins for ya!

To all of those who said that I can't get a btc for free: I got a btc for free. I started at bit Vegas and made my way up to 0.02. From there, I have bet, sold my signature, did boring tasks for others, and other stuff. Now I have 1.5 btc.

It depends how much effort you are willing to put in it! An easier way would be to get a real job and buy bitcoins for your pay, but that was not the question. He/she asked for ways to earn one btc.

Start mining and also start selling your goods in btcs. Those are the easiest and also the most entertaining ways to get your very first btc.  :)

I have a roasted dandelion coffee company here in East Sussex (England) and at my last market I decided to make a large sign for the front of the stall proudly exclaiming that I accepted Bitcoin.

As a result of the large sign, and what with all the media attention that BTC has been getting lately, I had lots of people gathered around my stall asking me about Bitcoin; clearly I don't know as much as the people on this forum (which is why I'm here after all) but I did know more than many of the general public.

Well, this created quite a buzz around my stall, and people in markets are attracted by people in markets (they wonder what all the fuss is about) ... whereas I didn't sell one bag of coffee in BTC, I did sell more than I would normally because of the buzz that was created.

A Satoshi is not the same as 1BTC. A Satoshi is currently the smallest fraction of a Bitcoin that can currently be sent (0.00000001 BTC). We don't want you to accidentally be charging 1/100000000th of the price you're wanting for something ;) not that you would currently be able to sell something for .2 Satoshis

Buying 1 BTC is easiest, and still affordable. You dont need to buy 1 BTC at once, just whatever you can afford every month. I do it this way
