Title: Bitcoin-qt not resyncing... Post by: DavidZ on November 22, 2013, 06:40:32 PM Hi,
My bitcoin-qt wallet unfortunately is not resyncing any more. It is now 39 hours behind. I am getting a warning message which says "Warning: displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade." I'm running v0.8.5-beta under debian linux wheezy/gnome. How can I get it to resync? At least I still can transfer out bitcoins. Thanks, David Title: Re: Bitcoin-qt not resyncing... Post by: zvs on November 22, 2013, 07:20:26 PM so what does debug.log say
Title: Re: Bitcoin-qt not resyncing... Post by: DavidZ on November 22, 2013, 08:11:10 PM I'd post debug.log here but I'm not sure if that would be a safe thing to do. Anything I should look for in particular?

Post by: theymos on November 22, 2013, 09:39:44 PM Your block database is probably corrupted. Shut down Bitcoin. Go to the data directory (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory) and move the chainstate and blocks directories somewhere else. (Keep them for a while in case the devs are interested in looking at them.) Then start Bitcoin, and it'll resync. You could also try deleting just the chainstate directory for a faster resync, but this might not actually fix it.
FYI: My block database was also corrupted recently with unmodified (but self-built) 0.8.5 on Gentoo. I wonder if a recent block/tx triggered this on certain systems. Thanks. |
