Title: So where's KNC Neptune?
Post by: Twipple on November 26, 2013, 06:08:20 PM
I read on Coindesk that pre-orders begin today although I can't see them listed on the KNCMiner website.
Are these only available to existing customers or?

right now, yes, at least that's what they said. Log into your account if you have one and see if you can view it...

I have an offer unpaid as of now, still deciding. If anyone's interested feel free to PM with an offer (In BTC).

If suitable I will add your name and address onto the order and contact/forward the emails with KNC if required.

I placed an order and then my fucking bitcoin-qt crashed... argh, need to reindex. Hope it's still there when the computer is done.

It's not a bad deal at 14.5 btc...

checked it earlier tonight, was given a price of 11.something... seems like an awesome deal, but then I think that I paid 70 btc for the jupiter and it's only gotten like half of that back and will not ever break even and then I pause and reconsider.

FWIW, I never bought anything from KNC, but I created a login on their site when the Mercury/Saturn/Jupiter were announced.

I can see and order the Neptune once I've logged in.

As to Bitcoinorama, all buyers logistic details can be changed anytime anyhow, at buyers discretion.

Wtf? They say it ships in Q1/Q2 2014. That means it will ship around March. Is this thing
Even worth it? I don't see any possible ROI on this. It can
Buy 10BTC now for $10k and in 3 months that will likely be worth around 20-40$k. All this by the time this ships. I don't see it. I just don't see it.

I'm not a genius but I get the notion that the real winners mining were the guys that mined from 0 to 10m coins. Anything after isn't worth it. At that point more profit is in buying the currency.  Does anyone else think the same?

And you're sure BTC will be $2000-4000 in March?  It could be back to $130 then that $10,000 investment you've made looks even more foolish than buying a Neptune for 10 BTC now.

Doubt it.  If gold can value up to $2K, then BTC most certainly can. You can split BTC into satoshis. Something you can't do with physical materials. Furthermore it takes time to move physical goods. In this world we move bits in milliseconds around the globe.  This is something the world has never witnessed before and I think we'll continue to be blown away going forward.

I will never bought mining equipment nor ever will. Instead I will invest my USD capital in the companies that sell this stuff to you.  I would only consider mining if I had it vertically integrated and someone that knows their shit in charge.

thing is BTC will have a bigger value by the time they ship  ;)

If that thing shipped ASAP I would definitely thrown down BTC on it... the unknowing of shipping date is pretty terrifying though.  I shutter to think of what the global hashrate will be come Q2 of 2014...

I find it incredibly hilarious that some people are so sure that BTC is 100% guaranteed to go up in value.  This is "bubble think"... the belief that crazy markets are real and normal.

I am a believer in BTC and think it will increase in value over an extended period of time.  But this past month's price increase is irrational and nothing more than a bubble that will pop soon.

It'll fizzle out and then gradually grow. It may not grow $50-100 per day anymore, but maybe per week or month. And that ain't bad. it still beats money sitting in my bank account.

I love the notion that my money lives inside the internet. It sound so mystical to the oldies.  It's that badass!

200-300/month is the norm for this sort of thing

OK so things don't get out of hand, let's clear a few misunderstandings.

Sales are currently open to previous customers only.

Blatantly the person using the registered email account with the name associated with that account is the only person that can order.

The only person that can make changes is the person with that account (i.e. cancelling the order).

It has to go to the same recipient, in the same country.

You are on your own, we will not have anything to do with reselling pre-orders if you are not the person the account is registered to.

The guy claiming to charge no fees to order on your behalf also recently started a thread stating words to the same effect that he then subsequently locked so no one else can comment.

I am a prior customer and can order Neptunes everything will be under your name,  PM me offers

and his 'locked' thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349174.msg3739455#msg3739455

So use your head, you are placing your trust in someone that may claim to order and can also cancel that order.

The other day someone was scammed and paid 1/2 a Bitcoin for an order placed, which wasn't. He's lost out. Not KnC's problem.

Hi guys,

I am looking to purchase a few neptunes and I am unable to order since I've never had an account with KNC until today.

Do you know when it will be available for the general public to pre-order?

Also if I wait until then to order by myself, will this shipment be later than the pre-order shipment to previous customers?

Thanks.

Props to KNC for over-delivering with the Jupiters etc...

But a ship date of Q1-Q2 2014 for the Neptune is basically a range of 01/Jan to 31/Jul isn't it?

How is anyone calculating profit with any degree of accuracy here?

Alright -- my wallet crashing and reindexing the blockchain was a blessing in disguise. It cost me only 12.5 not 14.5 BTC in the end. Order came through... apparently sold out in two days!

Looking back September delivery was early October. Probably this means it will be early July next year.

KnC is already in business, so why the f*ck another pre-order!  >:(

And why so vague? Q1/Q2 wtf
