Title: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: Pythonideus on November 28, 2013, 02:22:59 AM Hey guys, I'm trying to build a litecoin mining rig (sorry if this is the wrong place) and I want to make sure that these parts will work together. Thanks for any feedback or suggestions!

Post by: Lessaj on November 28, 2013, 03:03:17 AM Yup that will work just fine. :) That power supply is actually overkill but that gives you room to grow. I just bought the same motherboard and CPU. Installed all the components tonight, Windows is updating as I type this. I bought the motherboard from Newegg.ca and I got free 4 GB of RAM with it. :D You don't need more than 4GB for litecoin if you're using CGMiner.

Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: xzempt on November 28, 2013, 04:09:50 AM i think id go with 2 7950 instead of 3 7850s....
if you can find them.... just looked on newegg, all 7950s are showing out of stock..... http://amzn.to/1cxzMK0 Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: Lessaj on November 28, 2013, 04:14:04 AM Yes 7950s would definitely be a better miner but that's not to say that 7850s are bad! Just that they're not as good. :P
I think the ram deal was on the Canadian Newegg only, and it looks like it JUST went out of stock, I bought mine on Sunday and it arrived today. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157262 Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: xzempt on November 28, 2013, 04:23:43 AM once you have a bunch of cards pumping out heat.... you'll wish it was 620khs per 7950, instead of whatever the 7850 gets... maybe 325khs?
Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: Pythonideus on November 28, 2013, 04:24:06 AM I can't find 7950's anywhere at all =\
Instead, I upgraded my # of 7850's to four. Should produce between 1200 and 1700 KH/s. What do you guys think? Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: xzempt on November 28, 2013, 05:35:02 AM should work good.... make sure they are out in the open, or build an open air case

Those bump in price. Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? It's just not gonna work. Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Title: Re: Can you look over these parts before I buy them? Post by: Cryptocables on December 01, 2013, 05:24:16 AM You are going to need Powered Risers for this setup as well. Why?
1) You have more then 3 cards on your board 2) They won't all fit on the board due to thickness |
