How to recover lost bitcoin wallet? I know that my question sound silly, but anyway what is the possible technics/methods to do that, even if it will take like gazzilion years to find/bust the wallet and access bitcoins in it?

There is no supported way to recover your wallet. The only way is to brute-force the password, this would indeed take an eternity if you have no clue what the password was. However if you a slight clue what the password was, the possiblities to brute-force it would drastically deminish, which might make it worth to try. There are tools/services which are able to do this for you, google :)

What you mean by lost wallet? Have you formatted your pc or something or you forgot the password?

It could possibly be over-written already if you reformatted. There are some commercial software that is dedicated to recovering deleted files, but I'm not sure if that would work. Good luck though.

Once you lose your password, probably you are lost. However, some guys on the services forum offer password recovery service. Search for it.

The guys at http://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/ (http://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/) may be able to recover it for you, under certain circumstances. This is assuming that you lost only the password, and your wallet is still intact.

Guys are there to recover the wallet with partial keys, and brute force method. Search inside the forum and also google it.

Did you lose the wallet or the encryption key?

If you lost the wallet file (through deletion, corruption, formatting) and you were quick enough to shut your computer down before it was overwritten, there are tools that can scan an entire harddisk image for key signatures and re-create a wallet (for example, jackjack's pywallet).

If you lost the encryption key there are companies that help with recovery, as mentioned they will ask you for all your knowledge about the passphrase and use directed brute force.

In case the harddisk broke down, the data can be recovered with forensic techniques. This is expensive, but may be worth it in some cases.

Moral of story: make regular backups!

Thanks to all who replied, no I have no broken HDD, deleted files, lost wallet file nor encrypted key, I only have my bitcoin address, so I am interested with knowin address, how hard will be to recreate the wallet and make it up and running, thanks for all answers!

Backup! Backup! Backup! is the only key to safeguard your wallet in case of damages to storage. And if accidentally a transaction is made to a wrong address, you would lose your coins.

Back up your private keys. Write it down or copy onto a flash drive.

My question is the following: If I have only my bitcoin wallet address is it possible to crack or generate somehow, and no matter how long it will take to recover the wallet? This is what I am asking, I am not interested in backup of HDD or other methods, i am only interested in that particular case, thank you for your attempts answer my question!

If you're talking about your public key, then no.  Absolutely no way possible.  End of discussion.
If you're talking about your private key, then yes, and quite easily.

(Unfortunately if you have to ask this question, then you're talking about your public key.  So no, there is no way to recover that.)

It's indeed not possible using just the address*. That would be a huge security hole :)

The technique is this:

1. Generate a random 256-bit number between 0x1 and 0xFFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFE BAAE DCE6 AF48 A03B BFD2 5E8C D036 4141. (a private key).
2. Determine the bitcoin address for the generated private key.
3. If the generated bitcoin address matches, you have the private key and you are done. If not go back to step 1.

This is called "brute force". There is no other technique.

If you only have the public address or public key, there is no real way (other than brute force) for you to recover the private key.

If someone is able to do that for you, he could have taken everyone's btc as well.

Edit: and with "vanity address generators" you can bruteforce addresses efficiently, though not efficient enough to get the private key belonging to a certain address within the age of the universe.

If you created your wallet with a passphrase i think there is someone that offers recovery wallet services. I don't remember the site though.

I had to read the entire post to figure out if you were talking about a bitcoin lost wallet (.dat) or a bitcoin lost password…
I don't know if there are other options than restoring your system or finding a data recovery tool for lost wallet .dat.

All I know is that there is a solution for bitcoin or litecoin users who lost their password. Actually I have recovered my litecoin password using recoinvery. It seems that this freeware also works on bitcoin and few other coins but I only can confirm that it worked great to get my ltc wallet password back

I think there are boundary conditions for the recovery: either you had taken a very weak password in the first place or you have still some idea about the password. I think there will be no way to recoup your passphrase if it is well chosen.

maybe he has forgotten his password, there's no way to recover your password, which wallet do you use? and what do you save, whether bitcoin, eth, ltc, etc. if you mean lost your password, you can reset it by forgot password, but if you use hardware wallet or another wallet that use seeds or private key, there's no way out except you back it up before your password being lost.

Blockchain.info has several recovery methods if you took the time to set them up. I believe you can recover your wallet with either the seed (a list of words) or the account mnemonic (a longer list of words). The site has details and instructions.

It is vital to back up your wallet.dat  (or the seed, if that applies). If you did not back up your wallet, then there is no method to restore it.

When people ask such questions - from what chance is that somebody will generate the same wallet (private key) as yours to how hard is to brute force a private key - I like to point them to this image (https://miguelmoreno.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/fYFBsqp.jpg). It's already old, but it's well written.
The image tells how hard is to just count all the possible addresses. After seeing it, you'll understand that brute forcing it it's clearly impossible.

I hope there will come a time that you really can recover your lost wallet. But yeah u need information for that. Perhaps biological item could unlock it like DNA?

Unfortunately, the only way to recover a lost wallet is to brute force it, given that you can't still remember your password. If you have lost the entire software (wallet), you can try using recovery tools which is a google away. However, chances are very slim and there's no assurance that the coins you have stored in your wallet will be recovered. If its a small amount, much better if you'll just move on.

1. you can check the blockchain for the amount of btc matching and try to open it
2. check it the exchanges you previously exchange.

Its better to lose btcs rather than loosing your hard earnings by getting fooled once again

That's right. And even if you are considering to brute-force the password, it's way more logical to aim for some whale's address.  :)

if you have forgotten password but you have remember few letters of it then it can be Brute forced but not 100% guaranteed.But if you don't have any clue of it ,then i am sorry to say that you might not get back your password.

I am afraid you can't recover if you lose your wallet's private key or phrase seed code. I am really sorry if you lose your funds. This time everyone should more careful about their wallet. But if you were using blockchain wallet then you can recover your wallet address through the email. Which wallet were you using? Did you lose email too? If that happens then you can't recover wallet address ever  :(

There is only one way : brute force to find your Private Key. There are existing tools to do that, but sorry, that can take many years...
