It seems all messages on this forum are tagged as new.

Threads that you haven't viewed yet, will always appear like that (similar to when there's a new post on threads [since your last visit]).

Yeah, I was thinking about this. Could it be made that names of the  threads, you haven't visited, show up as blue without the "new" sticker on the side. Then when you reply it shows the "new" as in new replies (as still does today).

Yes brother, all threads you have not viewed are tagged as new messages.

Your name will appear in the "last post" box if your post is the last one.

It's a feature: if you click the word "new", it takes you to the first post in the thread that you haven't read yet. I use this all the time opening links from Show new replies to your posts. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unreadreplies).

Your browser should handle that (except for removing the word "new"): if I've never visited a thread, its title is shown in bold font. Any thread I've opened before has normal font.
Update: this doesn't work when I click Show unread posts since last visit. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread) (on the top of each page). All links are normal font.

Because I didn’t know that, it is quite useful. I was sure it had some logic but it seems quite counterintuitive.

Where's that option? I can't seem to find it anywhere?

But to be honest, I'm just looking at that icon on the left where it tells you that you've replied there. Kind of got used to it like that now.
