Title: Hi all Post by: dsW00 on December 03, 2013, 06:53:15 PM Hey there, I've just joined and thought I'd best say hi! :)
New to Bitcoin (and all the others), just got interested after it made the headlines and wondered what it was all about... Limited resources, so CPU mining alt-coins via multipool (40kh/s) just to get a few coins in my wallet. A hobby really, I reckon I should have got interested earlier if I wanted to make money... ;) Cheers, Rich Title: Re: Hi all Post by: mixpickle on December 03, 2013, 07:15:51 PM hey im new to btc too!
currently im mining with 0.3 gh/s on cloud mining, basicly mining 24/7 on a server where you buy ghs directly and they mine for you. only invested like 7$ heres link with my ref https://cex.io/r/0/mixpickle/0/ Title: Re: Hi all Post by: Honeypot on December 03, 2013, 07:29:16 PM Same here, new to the digital currency scene. Trying to get my feet wet my mining litecoin with GUI miner on my Nvidia GTX 470 :(
Unfortunately, it seems I need to know how exactly to work the GUIminer before doing any mining, since I always get hung on the connection stage. I can't find my GPU on the Default GPU drop down menu-just a bunch of AMD cards. I need to understand how to exactly input the URL (WHAT FUCKING PART TO CUT OUT?) and username/password (apparently different from ones you use to long into pools), ports, etc. Essentially, I can't figure out how to connect to pools properly or use GUI miner properly. Help :( Title: Re: Hi all Post by: dsW00 on December 03, 2013, 08:35:34 PM Yeah, I tried a a few different options and couldn't get them all to work. I'm using CPUminer now, which is working out ok for the altcoins. I think most pools have example config files which you can copy and paste (although I know it's not always that simple....) For Nvidia cards I think cudaminer is your best bet, but I tried and failed with that setup. Had to install Cuda toolkit but still wouldn't work for some reason.

Title: Re: Hi all Post by: Honeypot on December 03, 2013, 09:02:37 PM I am always getting json_rpc_call failed retrying after so and so second with all my mining programs. Anyone know what's going on?
