Title: Bringing old Bitcoin back to life Post by: Possum on December 04, 2013, 01:29:53 AM Hi
I have left a bitcoin on my computer for well over 2 years with out opening the wallet. I now have open the wallet program with it on. The wallet has been going for 3 days now but it say it is still loading blocks. Is this normal. What is the best way to maintain your bitcoin wallet. I don't really want it running all the time as it seems to use a lot of resources.. Thank you.. I would recommend however closing it down and installing the latest version of Bitcoin QT (assuming thats the program you're using). I wouldn't run one that is 2 years old. I also changed from Bitcoin-QT to Multibit. Very satisfied so far... (+-3 weeks of usage) Title: Re: Bringing old Bitcoin back to life Post by: bitcon on December 05, 2013, 03:38:51 PM just find your wallet.dat file. i think you can import it to blockchain.info
without having to download the entire blockchain. Title: Re: Bringing old Bitcoin back to life Post by: Tirapon on December 05, 2013, 04:41:57 PM Make sure you have a backup of your wallet!
