Hello traders!


I am new here in this forum I don't have more knowledge about tradings, but I think maybe someday if I will given a chance to do trading I think I should try it. So I always read articles about tradings and also I read threads here in our forum about trading discussion. However I would like to ask all traders here that have more experiences about trading if what was the common problems that encountered of an ordinary traders?  And what was the common mistakes had you ever experienced and how could you manage this problem and mistakes? 


Can you share your thoughts and experiences about tradings.

Fear . I think this is the problem most traders encounter. And my self is like that, the time when I first invested I lost a lot because of this. And now I have improved it.

what kind of fear do you mean?
because maybe someday I will enter the trade also later, therefore I also need to learn.

many ... others think that if they are going to trade, scammers, losers, money can not be returned. that's the common problem with a trader. but more.

I spent more than 4 years studying the Forex market on my own, before I could make money on it.
And believe me, books, the stories of successful traders have not helped much.
There are always described ideal events that do not correspond to reality.

You need to understand for yourself how the trading instrument chosen by you works, find indicators, write rules for yourself and work.
In this area, the advice of other people is fraught with loss of deposit.

I think market knowledge is the most important thing for trading. No bookish knowledge would help in this issue until you have a direct contact or involvement with trading. From my experience, I can say that a right time decision is the most vital point for this issue. and traders always have to be careful regarding this matter.

The common mistakes investors make at the moment are that they always invest in their emotions. Investors who rely on premonition or luck will never be rich forever. They will pay dearly for lazy analysis. There are a lot of investors failing because of the lack of calculation and work based on emotions too much. Avoid this before bankruptcy.

I guess most common problems of a trader is emotion. Idea of a trader is buy low and sell high but this is forgotten  when emotion strike you. example scenario, A trader buy at he think the best buy point but suddenly after he buy the price is continue to fall down at the deepest dump. So he's panic mode and thinking that the price still dumping so he sell even below at his buy order. Big mistake, he loss funds with emotion

I can enumerate some of the mistakes of problems that I myself have experienced since I am an trader but not pro  ;D ;D

1. Lack of patience - This is so far the worst problem of most of the traders at this moment. They want to gain some profits easily. They don't have this attitude called patience. Traders tend to lose some money with lack of patience especially if they don't know what to do when the coin they are holding drops below their buying price.

2. Emotion first before strategy - This is very hard in my experience and I know that some traders felt this too that they put their emotions in trading rather than thinking of a strategy. I know emotion is hard to control but as a trader, we must know that emotions will not help us in trading. Now, I don't put any feelings when I am doing some trading. When my bought coin drops, I will hold it and be calm and relax. I know that coins are volatile, the only thing I need to do is just wait or accumulate more if it drops.

3. FOMO or Fear of Missing Out - I have experienced this once, in the verge partnership with FUCKING PORNHUB. Yes I got FOMO'ed because I bought at peak. As a newbie trader like me, don't think that you are too late when a certain coin pumped already. Move on to another coin because there is a high chance that they will dump it in your face and in the end, you will be at loss. FOMO is caused by emotions. Its a common mistake for us newbies but don't do it twice.

4. Jumping into trading without proper knowledge - I know some here want to gain some profit right? The question is are you equipped enough with information and knowledge you need in order to be a successful trader. I am trading right now but I am also learning because I know that there are many things to learn in trading. Traders tend to lose their money in trading because they don't want to learn. The only thing in their mind is to gain profit. Take note that soldiers don't go into a battle without their weapons. Same with trading, information and knowledge is your weapon.

Yes it is important to control our emotion, but i think the there are so many other reasons which are also responsible for the failer in trading, i think that we need to get some good experience first in trading and after that we can expect to become succeeded in trading and get good profit form it. i think we can get experience only if we will spend good time in trading.

Patience mate. Thats the most important thing that trader must have in him while making the trades and investment. Many times people just go rushing their trades and make it worst or what can I say complicated! They refuse the idea of keep the coins for long time, dont use the tools like limit orders and stop-loss and thus loos more money than they can afford to loose it. I believe this should be one of the character people must have in them if they are starting any kind of trade. Literally we need to have patience while making the short term trade also.

I think that failure to trace the most undervalued coin and investing in a coin which is just getting pumped and dumped due to lack of market knowledge is the main mistake which majority of new traders encounter.Also traders should not be vulnerable to market fuds otherwise they would have o lose their investments.

Also traders should avoid investing in newer coins until they get stable in the market.

I think this is the most common mistakes I have encountered:

• Investing in unknown cryptocurrencies: Just because Bitcoin has achieved success does not mean that all currencies will achieve the same success, much invested in unknown currencies for this purpose.
• Do not multiply currencies: Some people think if they have all the cryptocurrencies they will make gains, so you find them investing in more than 20 cryptocurrencies.
• Investment without a plan: You will often lose if you do not have a clear idea of what to do

The most important advice is to have a safe wallet and some technical expertise to keep your cryptocurrencies safe.

That's a good way to start trading you can keep on to learn more about trading, I new in trading cryptocurrency. But the other side I get to be a trader in cryptocurrency is very hard to do, yes I can say that. Theory is just a spice to start trading, the more we are our common sense to get the profit we want. It's going to be good for if you want to start trading do not just focus on the theory, the most important thing is you directly make a trade. So later you will realize the mistakes you make and you improve with the theories you have learned.

Believing on the hype coming and that's a common mistake made by the traders since they can brought up on massive loss for believing so much for incoming pump given by the devs nor supporter. That's why we need to be more informative on the things we want to trade so that we will enter the scene with good profit gains.

But you are going to get nothing about trading knowledge other than signature spammers spam posts to increase their post count.
Do your own research no one will tell you the secret of their success.if you want to try trading there are some simulators are available so you can try it without losing any money and gain some knowledge.

LOL, as I can see most of the people here are making money out of doing bounty campaigns, well I am one of those, in return the money I earned during campaigns are the one I used for trading. Some people  become succesful by campaign not about in trading.

I see a lot of traders regret selling their coin, wheh that coin pumps into a 10 or more dollars. Well it has something to do with emotion. Experience will be your best teacher, its not about books. You're the one who will figured it out.

I agree that these mistakes are very common among beginners and allowing novice traders to lose money. Common mistakes and problems of traders are not having experience and immediately attempting to trade, others are being control of their emotions instead of thinking about it before deciding and trusting easily.

     There are lot of mistakes that should be avoid by most of the traders like:

1. Not choosing the best investments.
2. Not reviewing well and not researching well about the projects information and details.
3. Not constantly monitoring the market in which the latest update is very much needed for every decision to make
4. Not having an enough patience in which in the end of the trading will result of early to give up.

   If you will follow these suggestions then for sure you will avoid huge loses of your investments and high chance to be successful in trading.

I think the main mistake of the most traders is that they buy when the market falls and sell when the market grows. It is necessary to buy when the market begins to grow and sell, if there is a downward trend. So say the professionals.

Paying attention to wrong information/advice, that's the main mistake. Not sure what 'professionals' you are talking about, but they are utter noobs. If you keep believing in that, then you will surely keep making the same rookie mistakes.

Everyone with a working brain buys when the market is on its way down, and starts liquidating holdings once the market has gone up. Noobs need an increase in price to gain the confidence they need in order to start buying, and when they do, it's more often than not near peak levels. Seriously, if you keep sticking to that broken logic, you'll always keep wondering why the price goes down when you buy, and why the price goes up when you sell; get rid of that noob logic, especially if you want to make money instead of losing it.

Trading crypto currency is of the best way of maken money in the crypto currency market couple with investing in ICO and rendering crypto related services. Although as a beginner you will need to have a good knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis of the market as that is the way for you to be a successful trader in the crypto currency market.

I want to give you a top secret point , One of the most common mistakes is stop loss width , never put your stop loss too narrow , Most of the times it comes with loss when you put it too small , you're welcome!

I cannot agree with you less on this position especially the first mistake which is about investing in unknown coin. Every noon trader believes by default that all coins have the potential to be like bitcoin and the time they are buying, they are actually doing it to cash out big and some exchange sites don't even help matter with the statistics they display. You see statistics such as the most traded coins, the most pumped, the most dumped, highest volume, promoted coins etc all in the last 24hrs.

However, its not possible for coins to be like bitcoin. I have fallen victim of those statistics before and I learnt the hard way that those green or red coins are really not the forces of the market but consistent manipulations of the outcome by those who knows the rule of the game.

All currencies has a potential to gain much profit as long as we're able to determine the market prices and having a good strategies. Yes, they are unknown but in my analysis the prices of all currencies is unpredictable ,we buy a cheaper coin because our earnings is not enough for buying a top listed coin.

Trading mistakes are common and inevitable. As they say, a large part of “experience” is a result of learning from our mistakes. To be a successful and sustainable trader, it is not just important to analyse your performance, but also your feelings and behaviour patterns.

We all know this thing that trading is not that much easy thing to do most of the people think of it to be and that the most common mistake which they make because of this misconception is that they jump into trading without even knowing anything about any of the crypto coin or anything related to that of trading. Never plan to ride a rally when it has gone up considerably high, because you might get stuck for a while when the market crashes, always plan to invest when the market goes down and not the other way around.

I think common problem of traders are lack of strategies, they are not a take risker and they are fear to loose there money.
In trading you need to monitor the movement of market flow.
You need also to check carefully the site to avoid the scammer.

One of the most common mistakes among traders is to be too greedy, they made a good trade and instead of taking their profits and look for another trade, they think that the market is going to keep going up indefinitely and that is simply impossible, then when the price begins to go down they refuse to sell thinking that the price is going to go up once again, and even in some cases they lose money with a trade that should have gave to them good profits, so the lesson here is to grab your profits whenever you have the opportunity to do so.

I think the most common encountered problem is fear. Besides scam, I genuinely think it's fear. For newbies, not only here in forum but in trading, their common problem is fear. Fear of losing token/coin and fear of not getting something in return.

Errors of traders expect for the most part in psychology. The fact that he is not morally ready. He is subject to fear, greed and indecisiveness.

Yep I can agree on all those, basically it comes to one thing where the market is controlling you not vice versa where you are using the market to take part in a trade on your own terms.   Somehow even with this knowledge its hard to stick to your own defined terms of engagement.   It really is better to just wait for your own opportunity then try and chase or enter in a bad way you are not actually comfortable with.

I would add over exposure, as a new trader try to learn with lower amounts.  The gain being experience mostly, dont be driven just by the difference gained in your favour also the gain is increasing confidence and knowledge.    All markets repeat themselves in various ways so its good to build up personal involvement not be overly committed immediately.

The number one problem of a trader here in crypto world is the lack of knowledge when it comes to trading and how the coins move in the market. Another one is lack of patience if they see the coins they bought are decreasing it's value they are begginging to panic which lead for them to sell their coins even if the lose from what their buying rate. Also lot of traders are too greedy when it comes to money and all they want is to earn instead they graudally losing their capital without them knowing because all their mentallity is money. So it you want to become a good trader you must erase all that qualities above in order to succeed.

The worst mistake you can do with trading is that not learning from previous mistakes.

I think the most common thing that let newbie traders to lose is not having a good knowledge specifically in moving market.  In addition, is the negative news that is big enough to make the market down. In this times the traders were so emotional and embarrassed on what happened to their investments tge more they hold for that day they keep on thinking to sell because they don't know what is truly going on.

It’s a very good question that you have asked this to the community. My answer would be based on my own opinion, so I am not good when it comes to altcoin trading. One of the common mistakes that the traders have is that they are “emotionally drowned” if the market crashes down. They do not see it as an opportunity, but rather a “regret”. They have to change their perspective by simply calling the bearish run as a buying opportunity to increase their portfolio and wait till the bull run season begins.

Basically the mistakes that people make now are exactly the types of mistakes I've made when I started trading.

So when you are new to trading you have no idea what to do. You just want to buy something, anything, and hope you make money.

But since you have no idea what candlesticks are, what technical analysis is you go and follow other people.

In my day it was Yahoo forums and it's basically the blind leading the blind.

Nobody knew what they were doing but the posted fake positions anyways and others would follow. It lead to stop losses and margin calls.

And I see the same thing being done today on the Bitmex Trollbox. People basically getting over leveraged following other people who are more or less guessing.

Yes, certainly I agree with that and this will be possibly happen for those new on the field of trading, they are afraid to see the downfall of the coin they are holding for not to pump again so they will sell in a lower price, and lastly the lack of time for market monitoring will give such trading mistakes.

for me the traders' mistakes are relatively the same, that is, they have difficulty in controlling their emotions and even always experience panic. it makes them easy to give up especially when they lose.

Common traders' mistakes are:
- Buy a coin without reading announcement of thread, charts, news etc.
-all in
-panic buy / sell
-fomo
- easily instigated by people who shout 'buy now or cry later' then finally get stuck and can not rise again.

In my view, the most common mistakes of these traders are always towards the crowd. It is a very misleading thinking for traders nowadays when they look at speculation / investing like gambling.
The worse thing is they never analyze the altcoin or ICO project they are about to invest. They just ask the experts to make a decision without review. That makes them forever poor and never rich.

The main mistake is that they want too much money in too short periodo of time so they often lack the patience and could be mislead by wrong or incomplete information. Success in trading comes with time and experience and many traders just think how to get rich over night and not how to improve their skills. That often costs them money.

In my own experience, most mistake is emotional. It's hard to control my emotion in trading. Not patient, and finally i loss my money. But, now. i'm better good than first. I got more exprience and so many knowledge about trading, so now, i can control my emotion.

I think the most common mistakes are made by traders who don't know when to stop and continue trading when the price isn't good. I think that a trader should make only reasonable well-researched decisions

There are 3 main problems:
1) Newbies think that they know enough to start earn money. A lot of them do not even read Forex or Baby Forex.
2) Fear. If you have not enough knowledge it will be not a trading it will be a gambling. And in this case you will be afraid of loosing your money so strong, that you will make a lot of hamsters mistakes.
3) People give up after a big loss. Only an experienced trader know that losses are near by with winning. And if you are good in trading, it doesn't guarantee, that you will be 100% successful.

Perhaps it is impatience when the market drops. Everyone is afraid to lose a lot of capital, so the hole is low. This action will cause the market to fall deeper. So learn patience no matter what the market is going on. And let's set a goal in business. Take profit at the price, so you will be more successful.

I think the common mistakes or problems of the traders are first are having no experience or knowledge abiut in trading we all know we should have enough knowledge and experience to do trading because it really complicated and too risky we should aware of what we are doing. Second, is patience we should not always rush things take it slowly and lastly uncontrolled emotions we should not always use our emotions add some intelligence if you are doing rigjt or if you're decision will make things right or make it worst.

As I know, not accept the result is problem. Some trader not follow their own rules about stop loss, take profit, hold to get more profit or to recovery their asset. What I mean is they don't have faith and believe with their own skill. Other issue is mostly about exchange rules and delay,no big deal. Try enter the market and learn it with your own faith and knowledge is the best way to manage problem and mistakes.

I was reading an article by Timothy Sykes where he was explaining reasons why he thinks his trading students fails a lot to achieve something from trading. He mentioned that not cutting losses quickly is one of the major problems newbies do have and that is true. Most of these newer traders are used to holding and hoping that the price will go up and yet they keep on losing.

It’s better to cut your loss and wait patiently and see what happens next. So try to cut your loss immediately than wait while you keep on losing. He said a lot of things, but no time to write about all that here.

^^  I have read that and its very true, most of us will be coming from an investment stand point but in trading its best to enter and exit in a far more rapid way then normal market involvement.
A good tip that keys into that is to actually alot more time not being in trade but possibly planning or watching for ideal entry then you also plan the exit pricing.     Hence when I look at a graph now I try to state possible ceiling but also underlying support below current pricing.

Another further idea is to scale in but also out of a position so that your gain or loss is not absolute and you do not get caught with too much 'size' at a weak price.   Its probably a far more important idea for those traders successful enough to be trading in larger amounts that might get noticed on an order book.

I liked your opinion about that. Impatience is the most dangerous mistake for traders. I think people who enroll in this field of trading should know how they use their brain smartly when they start to losing money. Panic selling is not worth at all in the most of the cases. Personally, as a trader, I never sell my token with loss, I always wait until the crypto will pump again and decide then to keep investing in it or to invest in other crypto. If you want to succeed in the trading world, you should learn how to control yourself in the worst situations and learn patience.

understand the chart, this is a big problem that you will find, you look at the chart and do not understand anything of what you are seeing, you do not know if the price will go up or fall, but you want to do a lot of trade, you want to understand every move that the price makes, you do not know where to learn, so it creates frustration, day trading is not for everyone, but everyone wants to do day trade and few are able to understand the chart.

I think it is fear and patience there are traders who sell their coin and they want it to happen so fast that they would put it in the lowest bid in sell prder .
And they would feel bad if the coin’s value would increase after a couple of minutes o hours when their token has been sold.

Common mistake and of traders is watching the price fluctuation because when you watch the changes of value of the coin you invested, you could easily get moved and make you emotional which may lead you to decide the wrong decision specially when you watch the price of a certain coin constantly dumping, you could sell your crypto in no time, that might lead you to have loss. So if you are a trader, just relax, think positive, and set goals.

The biggest mistake of traders is overheating in their decisions, and some of them may be too confident in the crypto they are investing in to make up for the loss.

Agreed.In my own experience,emotion is what makes me fail mostly in trading.Especially when i am badly needed for money and btc price starts to drop low,i somehow panic too.But as time goes by,i learned to control my emotions and develop patience so as not to get loss in the end.I know it happens mostly to all the traders out there.

Practice makes man perfect,So sometime we read but dont implement practically should try practically.Avoid past mistakes but must learn from past mistakes and never take decision in panic either buying or selling.

Someone can correct me but I think it is the fear of trading itself. Since we all know that trading involves around risk, you inevitably trade most of your resources and hope that its price may increase today. I believe, that is the fear thay every trader must conquer in order to maximize profits.

In my opinion, most traders do not consider and observe the market whenever they do the process. They subconsciously trade resources without having to consider a lot of factors to minimize risks. Lastly, most traders invest everything without having a contigency plan if their investment lost. This tends to leave them lost and bankrupt.

The most common mistakes is made by new users who don't have any knowledge of how trading works and especially how crypto markets work. The first rule of crypto markets is to only invest what you can afford to lose and most of the traders end up going all in and than later get stuck with their investment in a bad trade. Also weak hands are going to get burned fast in crypto markets.

Biggest mistakes are probably being too greedy overall.  People will make a trade, see the price go up 20%, then decide to stay in even though it's clearly dropping.  The 20% gain on your investment is good enough, but the majority of new traders will see that and not be satisfied.  20% on a trade is huge, if you kept that margin up you could become a millionaire over a long enough time period.  Fear and greed, never be afraid to take profit out just because you think the price might go up more.  It's foolish as hell.

Additionally people get emotional about their trades, you really gotta just check your emotions at the door when you start trading.  Remain logical and you will win every single time.

Hi friend, I am also the amateur. I lost much money on trading. But now, I just buy when I know in there are the event or long vacation in some big countries such as: Japan, Korea, USA. In this time, The price of Bitcoin and altcoins always increase :)

The common mistake that is been made by traders is the problem of been patient. Patiently waiting for good exit and entry could be a painful and tormenting.  Ability to stay calm is golden.

1. A common beginners’ mistake is to look at the coin’s price rather than the market cap. Many think that they should buy ripple as its price is relatively cheap to Ethereum’s.
2. Traders don’t diversify their investments.
3. Many traders cannot spend much time in this market.  Crypto trading not just on a daily basis, but on an hourly basis. It’s not everyone that can play this game. Nevertheless you need to consider the amount of time invested in the process.
4. Some don’t have control on their emotions.
5. An additional common mistake is searching for crashed coins, in accordance to their value against the Bitcoin, hoping they will return to their glory prices. What goes down does not necessarily goes up again.

Sure, trading is not for everybody. If you have some fear, you'd better do the other business. Another mistake is naturally impatience. Greed is also an enemy.

most of them do not use the strategies and targets to be achieved so that when they trade they get a lot of trouble and finally their level is not naek and despair.

I think there are some things that make traders make mistakes in trading, the first is a sense of uncontrollable panic and it happens when traders see the market down and panic will come so that traders usually sell at cheap prices and lead to losses.

But better still, aside panic sales which needs patience for FOU: Fear of unknown, ill experience that must be checkmated, improper or poor research, poor understanding of coin involved, imitation of someone else idea, lack of business discipline which must be in piety, putting all eggs in a basket instead of diversifying into pool of coins and emotion control among many others that had initially been enumerated by prior posters,  I in addendum feels Quick decision should spontaneously be avoided or averted and equally,self starting with meager amounts can be implored even if lots of funds is available in other to have the personal study of ones particular opportunities or threats to be watched.

In addition most of the traders are not contented even if they really get profit for 20-30% still not decided to trade. When the opportunity lost that the price going down traders are get disappointed and have fear doing trading due to painful feeling of big losses with missed out of good opportunity that lost.

I find the common mistakes made by traders are:

1) Not researching enough before investing.

I think the most common mistakes that traders/investors make are always derived from either too much greed or being too scared of losing money.  Many people will lose money and have lost money because they keep thinking the price will keep going up when it reality it's going to crash after a certain point.  The same thing applies for people who are too scared but instead they end up selling out of fear that it will never go back up again.

Allocation of all funds to one asset
Always divide your investment portfolio among different cryptocurrencies.

Panic and buying at peak
Do not give in to emotions, be patient and judicious. Do not sell coins at the next bounce of rate.

Ignoring the news
Both positive and negative news are important. Analyze the information received and try to foresee how asset owners or potential investors behave.

High expectations
People quickly become frustrated having heard about the incredible profits and started trading on stock exchanges. In order to achieve success at cryptocurrency market time and insistency are required.

Negligent attitude to safety
Always use two-factor authentication! It is very important to use a secure computer and to encrypt your data.

I have been working in the Crypto market for 2 years and are considered a professional trader. I've had some small and big mistakes.
The first thing to mention is patience. When I first traded, I set up a very good plan but I did not have the patience to make that long-term investment plan. I lost a lot because I decided to sell all the coins when the market went down.
The second thing to mention is laziness. I was very lazy to analyze altcoin and just wanted to follow the crowd. As a result I did not have much profit.

The common reason why because they don't know how to trade, they trade their token 'cuase of others opinion, if they friend said that this is the time to sell or buy they follow them, you can follow them if your friend is pro for that carer if it's not will you need to double check what kind of token that you put in. So when i was in panic, then i sold my token as many people did, the result didn't get profit but lost.

I lost the opportunity then i hold those token for long time to wait the up price.

I think the most common mistakes and problems of the traders are in the patience that sometimes makes them selling their coin too soon. and if they can be patient for a while, I am sure that he can prevent a big loss. the patience is the most thing that we should have and the rest of that list will be following and we can get the profit in the end.

some of us have our own thought why we have to sell the coin that we have for immediately cause for some personal reason and you dont owe this to regret for well this is some of the common cases that we already see for then after that we can say that most of us here dont have patience specially when we see that there is no other could ever be done with the coin that we are hold for.

As the prices drop down, they are also worried that they might lose their hodlings. It is important that we could control our emotions because if not, we might commit wrong decisions.

Try to study first the market like knowing the statistics of the coin you are interested to invest before trading, there are a lot of different ways to earn in the market like long term holding or day trading but what matters the most is to know how much profit you will be going to earn in that coin you are interested to hold.

Yeah because on their head just there much profit are waiting, and they try to catch it up. But the end they will loss because the price will be fall down away from the profit.

that is right, but when I have a conversation with my friend, he tells me that he is regret that he sell too soon because after he sells his coin, the price increases in just a few hours later. so if he can wait for a while, he can get a profit of about 0.1 btc and because he cannot be patient, he only gets 0.05 btc. I telling him that is fine and he can search another profit with another coin and don't regret that you are selling too soon.

I think this is not a mistake because he sold it for profit, not for the loss but he made a small profit that's it. who knows in just a few hours the price will increase 50% am i right. For me it happens many times but i took it easy because i was in profit.

As part of our trading plan we should be able to determine our motives and goals, because by the time you acquire enough knowledge you will learn how to hold in longer terms.

Trading in small amounts of capital for example less then $ 50 is not very profitable for me, or I'm sure some people in this forum have felt it. I see that some of the traders did this and they are confused with the market when the price is going to down and they are fast selling their coin without doing the analysis for the coin. and to manage this problem and mistakes, I guess we still need to learn about trading no matter we can get a profit or we get the loss. we do not realize about our mistake so we only take it easy without searching what can we did to solve our problem.

Thats one of my problem im a panic seller and twice i end up crying because the moment i dumped my token a days later it moon 10x the price i dumped it. So. That is also a lesson learned.

Trading with emotions will create big mistakes, you can easily move by any certain events that can lead you to panic selling, without relevant knowledge that emotions can ruin everything inside your trading business, a common mistake that really take time before you can learn how to take care of it, common thing as a traders always telling yourself that you can control and take the risk but each time you dropped by in front of your device and see that some fluctuations happen you are always curious and act not according to your plan.

Base on my experience when i was still a newbie in trading i got easily persuade to buy  altcoins which are purely speculative and hype coins which turn out to be a big loss when suddenly dump. I’ve been in this space for a few years now. I started off as a investor but fell deeper down the rabbit hole. I work with an accelerator helping token sales, and recently joined the team of a project I fell in love with. I like to think this gives me a comprehensive understanding of fundamentals at play.

What this understanding of the players involved in this market has given me is..

Well, the knowledge that this market is almost completely sentiment driven. Which means it doesn’t always make sense. Crypto has more retail investors than any other market. You can see this if you look at the Bitcoin price chart next to a chart of Google search trends for the word “Bitcoin”. The charts are pretty similar, it would seem, The more people that google Bitcoin, the higher the price goes. The Search Volume graph seems more smooth because less data points were used to plot the graph.

The search volume actually starts to pick up just before the price goes up.

When a market is sentiment driven, price movement is driven by emotion. To come out on top in a market driven by emotion, you have to remove emotion from your trading.

The reason I’m telling you all this is so you understand that it’s not always about what you do, but what you don’t do. It’s what you refrain from, when exhibiting that mental fortitude we talked about. When the price of Bitcoin goes down, and you watch all of your cryptocurrency holdings lose their value, it’s hard to remain calm. When the market gets bloody, you might even be wondering if Bitcoin will ever go back up again. I don’t have a crystal ball, but can say with a decent amount of confidence that it will return to its former glory.

Don’t try to catch the exact bottom.

If you’re lucky enough to have some of your investment capital in fiat or BTC when the market takes a tumble, it can be a good time to construct your portfolio. I like to think of market corrections as “Crypto Flash Sales”. I almost always keep some fiat or BTC tucked away in case of a large dip in the market — but my obsession with catching the bottom of a downtrend has made me lose out on some big wins.

When you’re staring at a coins chart, watching it plummet in price, wondering when it will stop. You’re trying to catch the bottom. “Catching the bottom” means you’re attempting to enter into a trade at a bottom of a downtrend. It’s extremely difficult to catch the exact bottom on a trade. So difficult that it’s often called, “catching a falling knife”.

If you’re constantly trying to catch the exact bottom, chances are you’re going to miss out on trades. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve waited, and waited, only to have a trend reverse before I got in. I’ve missed out on far more than I’ve gained by trying to be a perfectionist with my trade entries. Sometimes, if you’re planning on entering a trade, it’s better to just get in near the bottom rather than wait.

If you’re a technical analysis wizard, the likes of Gandalf the White or my friends at Cosmic Trading: you might be better equipped to catch bottoms. This isn’t directed at you. This is for everyone else, the retail investors that make up the majority of this market. You’re not the Wolf of Wall Street, and you’ll bank more coin if you stop thinking you are.

Don’t sell your coins for ones that are going up (FOMO Trading)
Everyone’s done it. You don’t have to be ashamed. It’s only human. We’ve all sold the bottom of a downtrend only to see it immediately reverse and shoot upwards.

It seems like everytime I abandon ship on a coin to FOMO into another one, the coin I sell goes up. FOMO stands for Fear of Missing Out, it’s a common fear that causes a lot of bad decisions in trading.

Let me paint you a picture.

You buy $XYZ at $0.25 cents, you’ve done your due diligence, studied the charts for a while, and you’re ready. You didn’t even try to catch the bottom, you know this is a long term hold so you’re fine with your entry. You’re cool as a cucumber.

Two weeks pass, $XYZ is still at $0.25 cents. You’re starting to question your beliefs, sense of logic, even your reality. You start getting into arguments with old people at Denny’s about what “money” means. The longer your bag sits firmly on the ground and not the “moon” , the more bitter you become.

Two more weeks pass. $XYZ is at $0.20 cents. You’re friend John who just got into crypto last week told you about some sh*tcoin called $ABC. You laugh at him for even considering any coin besides $XYZ. Then, a mere 6 hours after John buys $ABC it skyrockets. It goes up 70%, John thinks he’s the king of crypto. He offers you advice, knowing that your coin is still in the gutter.

It’s at this fateful moment that you lose sight of what is most important.

Your strategy.

“Screw it!”, you exclaim.

“This market doesn’t make sense if it rewards idiots like John”, you think.

After all, he’s only been trading for 12 hours and he’s up 80%, what kind of sick joke is this. He already got that promotion over you, and now he’s getting all the good trades?!

The next day John’s stupid $ABC coin goes up 150%. You stare out your window, not at the beautiful LA skyline, but at the street below. Wondering if jumping out the window would hurt less than watching John tell everyone in the office what “Hodl” means as he waves around his hardware wallet. You get home, open up your exchange, and say goodbye to $XYZ. You sell all your holdings, at a loss, and move your capital into $ABC.

The next day, $XYZ goes up 800%. John calls you, excited, “Congrats! I saw $XYZ mooned today, oh man I wish I got out of $ABC while I was ahead, It’s down now, practically the same as when I got in. I should have listened to you and bought $XYZ”.

Don’t be that person. I’ve been that person, it sucks.

Don't stare at charts all day

Believe it or not, you can’t force a chart to go up or down with Jedi Mind Tricks.
Trust me, I’ve tried. When I first started trading I used to spend countless hours “charting”. Looking back, if I’m being honest with myself, a lot of those hours were wasted. Sure, I spent a lot of time actually studying and applying what I learned to my trading, but I also spent a lot of time aimlessly staring at a computer screen for hours on end.

I learned that the majority of my mistakes where made in moments like those. When I wasn’t being productive, I was needlessly monitoring my holdings like a hawk. It made me more emotional, and it made me overtrade. Two things I now know to avoid at all cost.

Sometimes the best thing you can do, is set a limit-order, and walk away. Trust your strategy, and always remember — if you’re not trading with a strategy, you’re gambling.

Such actions of traders not only help to reduce prices, but also practical Lead to their bankruptcy. The fact that the crypto currency at the fall can not be sold at all, especially if everyone is sure that the market should soon recover.

I dont consider myself as an experienced trader, Im still in the process of learning, but one of the common mistakes of a trader is not acquiring enough patience before he engaged into trading.

As an average trader and based on my own experiences the common mistakes and problems of the traders are:
1. Greediness - Most of the average traders are greedy they want to make a perfect trade and this is not good for making a good profit, If they see an trend of a altcoin they would enter in it and waiting for a very highest stage of pump that they wouldn't know when it happens so while they're waiting for it they would hold their coins or buy more because they expect that it will pump more and this method is high risk what if the coins will dump so fast? They would lose their capital not only profit.
2. Fear - This is connected to Greediness too, Fear can make you to lose capital too so if you're greedy and your coins value will dump so fast you would fear and results to panic sell so you lose some of your capital.
3. Patience - Panic selling results to lack of patience and traders want to make easy money or short trades that's so risky way of trading.

Yeah these three things really become a troubling specter for many traders, for now fear and patience become the main problem, especially when the price declines, many traders who fear the price is going down and harming them, let alone they do not be patient, of course everything will end with cutlose and they get lose

Exactly! We seem to rush things and forget the essence of hardwork, commitment, and positivity. We tend to believe what we hear around instead of discovering it by ourselves. We are too focus on the reward, not realizing how important it is to have passion in what we do. It is very vital to always remember that we need to be informed , keep calm, and at the same time to welcome failures for productivity, and personal and professional growth.

Here is my list:

Overtrading, not doing TA properly, getting scared by shakeouts, taking losses too seriously, being overly confident when in profit, adding to an already bad position, setting stop losses where  it'll most likely be hunted, trading when the market is choppy, using too high leverage, being impatient.

You must be: patient, savvy, "strong handed", and sometimes a contrarian.

and from this, they can be panic when they see the price is down and finally, they make an instant sell without doing analyze the price and the trends. for me, selling at lower price is their mistakes and buying at pump price is bad habit. you can always buy at lower price then hold if it is go down to 50% then buy again. Never sell at loss!

Holding stubbornly no-name, pump and dump coins just because some time ago it made 500% is not a good strategy.

One of the biggest ones I can see is buying high and selling low. Now you may think thats obvious but people who bought coins back in 12k-18k bitcoin range and similar for other altcoin levels are afraid when it reached these levels and they decided to sell thinking it will go even further down.
Now for example nano went down 98% or so which means it lost almost ALL of its value, of course people were afraid and sold their coins. Now, if you use those coins to make profit and succeed than kudos, but if you are cashing into fiat than thats a wrong move.

I think the common mistakes traders in the Crypto market have are impatience. They are always scared when the market goes down severely and does not trust the future of Cryptocurrency.

and to solve their problem, there is no other way except to keep the practice in trading so they can find a good strategy that will work well for them. I think it will need a time before they can find one or two good strategies but still, it is worth to them to keep trying to make a profit and avoid the mistakes. yes, I agree that to prevent from the loss, we need to use stop loss function so we can avoid to get a big loss and besides that, we can learn something from this so we can make another strategy to recover our balance.

Man, a good professional trader will never hold his crypto for long. He would rather make another common mistake: sell the tokens and Bitcoins too early.

He mentions gold and personally I think gold has no similarity to Bitcoin however they do share the inverse relationship to the dollar.   So if you are ever wondering on the strength to a move in BTC and motivation for buying and how long that uptrend might happen then imo look at Dollar some.    A weaker dollar does help crypto generally I think as both are global currencies traded often in place of a countries own more nationally restricted currency.
