Title: cgminer blank screen
Post by: Forexperiments on December 07, 2013, 02:19:45 PM
When I run cgminer, nothing is shown on screen, it's all black, even if it's actually working.
I have to run it in basic text mode  (-T) to be able to see what's happening.
Why this behavior? What I can do?
Thanks

Are you attaching a screen to it? Also, you do know it is pretty much just a shell interface right? No gui

I forgot to write (due to the 360 seconds between posts bug, my post was erased) that I'm on windows 8.1

cgminer default interface has an UI, you can add options to miner without exiting the app, it's not just a basic text shell

I have 8.1 as well, after adding another card I cannot get cgminer to display anything in the program menu wise and forgot what voodoo magic I worked after several nights last time around. Did you ever get this fixed?

I have to run cgminer using the -T option
It's much less informative, but at least it works...  ???

It works this way or another :)
just doesn't show any info
have u changed the original cooler on ur gpu ?
seems like you have a cooler rpm calc problem - if a driver cannot detect the fan settings it kinda doesn't know what to do

Ah!!!
So I know why!!!
My card it's a 5970, that's seen from the OS as a double 5870, and one of them doesn't report the fan speed, because it's cooled by a single fan

Thanks!!!
(so, i guess there's no fix for me...)
