Title: Latin America Bitcoin Conference
Post by: sleuth on December 09, 2013, 02:11:06 AM
Just finished up 2 days at the "sold out" Latin America Bitcoin Conference in Buenos Aires. A lot of great talks and very interesting ideas and people.

By far, the best talks seem to have been given by Andreas Antonopoulos who spoke on Bitcoin Neutrality (Sat) and Security & Scalability (Sun). Seems like there is a long way to go in terms of better Bitcoin security, seeing as how most people will not take the time to create (or know how to create) a paper wallet.

The auctions at the end of the conference were quite interesting with a Butterfly Labs 60 GH/s miner going for U$S 3300 (a bargain in Argentina) and a physical "copy of The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" paper going for 11 Bitcoins.

Great to see so much enthusiasm for Bitcoin in Latin America and a lot of interesting companies to keep an eye on...
