Title: Friedcat does care about ordinary people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: kirawei on December 10, 2013, 11:09:11 AM
Update!!! Friedcat finally replied my message.  So far at least no more dividend paid to Ukyo!

Hi kirawei,

We already stopped paying to g.asicminer.pt's dividend address. The former payments are recorded as credits. After the direct shares show up from g.asicminer.pt, we will pay all missing dividends along with that week's.

Best regards,

friedcat

Posted 2 topics and tried to email friedcat about our stuck shares on bitfunder. But didn't get any reply from him. there's 10,000+ shares still stuck there, and Ukyo is keep saying I am making a page for claiming the shares for over a week now.  I asked friedcat not to pay the dividend and force Ukyo to give the list, but nothing!!!   Please pay a little bit attention on us ordinary people!!!

Since when do CEO's of multimillion dollar companies reply to everyones personal emails? FC knows about the situation and is trying to deal with it.

I believe FC said they would transfer the shares to direct using the public asset list but that would be slow and tedious. Either way bugging FC about the situation will likely not make it go any faster.

You should contact the administrator of the passthorugh for support. FC did not establish the PT, it's not FC's problem.

friedcat would care but you made the mistake of not having enough exclamation marks in the subject.

But really BitFunder has nothing to do with friedcat, the shares are owned by Ukyo, and he should fix the mess.

yep

If you sent an email to bill gates complaining about windows 7 , do you honestly expect that he would send a reply?

People saying friedcat should continue paying the dividends to the Passthroughs on Bitfunder are basically right. Those passthroughs are issued by the respective issuers and the shares themselves owned by friedcat.
BUT
This is a political statement by friedcat. A good one. He basically acts in a way that speaks out against scams, thievery, and so on. IF everyone in charge is indeed working on resolving the Bitfunder problems, they will understand the dividends being held back. If not, well... Their fault. (my own opinion)

bitfunder very publicly shut down

if friedcat continued paying to it's addresses, wouldn't that be criminal (or at least sue-worthy)?

just trying to understand the idea that he's doing something other than making a generally responsible move by withholding dividends

Friedcat pays dividends to the owners of ASICMiner shares. The operator of a Passthrough, in this case Ukyo, is the owner of the shares. Legally, FC should pay dividends to Ukyo. That Ukyo used the shares as backing for a PT is of no concern to friedcat.

Morally, however, friedcats decision to hold dividend payments is a good one, in my opinion. But owners of PT shares of any kind should use this as a demonstration why PTs add extra counterparty risk compared to direct shares.

No moral decisions were needed, Ukyo requested that Friedcat withhold the divs himself.
