Dealing with molex jr is pita and time consuming. Thanks for the responses. Looks like you are going to hard-wire the power connector so you'll be doing a bit of soldering. I had a connector melt on me so, with a pair of snips and a soldering iron, removed the damaged connector and soldered on wires with a SATA power connector at the other end - problem solved. What you can do is exactly the same, if you can't find ones with exposed pad, buy risers with connectors and remove them. Title: Re: PCI-e risers with exposed pads? Isn't it more time consuming to be doing some soldering or doing some custom work on risers? I haven't seen any with a barebones board and they seem to be sold as is. Not sure what you're trying to achieve but I mean molex is not good but it's a hell of a lot simpler and easier to plug it in. Title: Re: PCI-e risers with exposed pads? I am going to change all the PSUs to server ones so one side is absolutely ready for soldering. Thanks for the replies. I am surprised that nobody offers such a riser.
@Manufactureres, please ditch sata connector and give us 2 big + - pads for future risers. |
