Alternative coins (altcoins) have become increasingly popular. With this increase
in popularity, the amount of use cases has skyrocketed. While cryptocurrencies
and blockchains started as a simple online payment system through Bitcoin, they
have the potential to be used in many different ways: a reward system for
customers, an RFID tracking system, a token rewarded and spent by playing
games, etc. With the popularity of cryptocurrencies growing in the public sphere,
and the many different possible use cases, it is no wonder that many individuals
and organizations want a blockchain of their own.

However, despite their growing popularity and relative ease of use,
cryptocurrencies are not simple. Although cryptocurrencies are accessible to
nearly anyone, the same cannot be said about creating and programming the
blockchain. Blockchains require a lot of development time with specific
programming skills and months of work for very specific and minute details. Even
with a perfect team, sometimes a project will encounter a problem that the team
members cannot solve on their own. ERC20 tokens, which are created through
the Ethereum blockchain, were a potential solution. However, ERC20 tokens are
fully reliant on the Ethereum blockchain, which limits possible uses. In addition,
ERC20 tokens can be created in under 10 minutes, and do not have their own
wallets. ERC20 tokens, therefore, are less professional and less desirable than a
fully independent blockchain.

This is where Slate, as a platform and cryptocurrency, comes in. The platform links
developers to clients, offering an escrow-style system that ensures developers get
paid and clients receive what they pay for. Through the Slate currency, the
platform is secure and verifiable. It is a coin developed with the purpose of being
used on the platform, and they work together to solve the issue of bringing
blockchain development to the masses. With Slate and the upcoming platform,
you can create the cryptocurrency and blockchain you or your company needs.
Slate can be used to create an entire blockchain, or simply to solve problems you
are having in the process of developing a blockchain. It is up to you and your
