Title: Good names for coins
Post by: hairycoins on December 11, 2013, 11:33:51 AM
Who else lol when they heard of sexcoin? These cryptocurrency names are turning into a joke. List some coin names that you think will be in development.

I think they will develop hairycoin next :D.

Well I guess that more bizarre name = bigger chance of going viral.  At this point, with a lot of crypto-currencies out there, it is the probably best thing to do for coin promotion.

I think if there was one the queen of England will be purchasing some on the stock exchange :).

I'll advice this to the queen. I'm here financial advisor after all. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't let here know that there are royalcoins just for her.

Coincoin: coins within coins
Libertycoin: centrally issued "crypto-currency" by your favorite federal bank
Jimcoin: A coin made by a guy named Jim
Joecoin: Jimcoin's arch-rival
Hamcoin: A coin backed by juicy ham.  Will butt heads with Koshercoin.
Monocoin: just one coin, with trillions of decimal places.
QECoin: Because "market failures".  Will become compulsory by the year 2020, likely to join forces with Libertycoin so voters can decide which one businesses accept.
Sanicoin: solves 100 blocks every second.  2fast4me
Coinbit: Bitcoin's evil step-brother, punishes miners with debt.  Popular with sadomasochists, and North Korea.
Nirvanacoin: designed for world peace, but the devs are too stoned to bother with it.
Illuminaticoin: top-secret satanic-cult currency, rumored to have only 666 total coins, most likely used to pay for black flag operations planned out in Bohemian Grove.
Pumpcoin: The world's first honest alternative cryptocurrency.  Ironically fails to work as planned.

If good names runs out they will ask the pokemon developers to come up with a name for their coin.

I propose:

CatCoin and LOL coin :)
Maybe LolCatCoin?

Well, some coins are rotfl-worth but lolcat is a very stable amount of web humour :) and a good occasion for cat lovers ;D as you know, the internet was created for cats by cats, and even you can draw a cat to be famous online http://facebook.com/narysujmikotka (site in Polish, but the cats are understandable in English) so we should have a coin for cats, too!

A currency for porn only seems like a great idea, one of the problems of the porn industry is that buyers would like to stay anonymous and that's not possible with credit cards.

So they're gonna use a currency called Sexcoin instead? Hardly inconspicuous. The porn industry will just use Bitcoin if they need a crypto. I don't see why they have to have their own coin.

I had an idea for a coin - Veterans Coin (VET). When you download the wallet client, you would pre-select a veterans charity (e.g. Wounded Warrior Project, etc...) and then every time you make a transaction, a % gets automatically donated to that charity.

It could work as a general Charity Coin (CHC ?) as well.

Just a thought. Too bad I have no clue how to develop said coin.

I had an idea for a coin - Bodybuilding Coin (BBC). When you download the wallet client, you would pre-select a pre or postworkout shake (e.g. whey protein, Jack3d etc...) and then every time you make a transaction, a % gets automatically donated to your supplement brand of choice .

It could work as a general Bodybuilding stack (Zyzz coin ?) as well.

Just a thought. Too bad I have no clue how to develop said coin.

no currency in the world ends with 'coin'... and its not even a coin.

eCoin
eMoney (i like this one)
eCurrency
eBucks
eDollar
eCent

VM (short for virtual money)

iCoin ('i' stands for internet, obvious)
iMoney
(etc.)

VirtualCoin
TheCoin
ItCoin
NobleCoin
POPcoi
CaesarCoin
SlotCoin (for gamble...)
RizeCoin
ChikunCoin
BloodCoin (maybe not a good one...)
DNAcoin
CryptoCoin

have lots more ideas...
