I'm very confused, why every people in this board always talk about merit? Meta is a board to talk about problem in this forum. It means, is merit an problems in this forum? What is the problem for merit system? What causes this to be a problem?

Isn't merit a feature of the forum?

merit is something brand new in this forum and its for sure gonna create all the buzz you see around  ;D  am waiting for the new bitcoin talk forum core ( software )  so i can see meta full of topics about it . hhh i bet most people will forget about merit that time .

Who said it is a problem? 1,000,000 users? or some bounties hunters that think the forum is a cow and needs to be milked to the last drop?
Lock your topic and take a look on these topics and see the answers given by the other users.

I see why people dislike it, since it makes it harder to earn via bounties.
But, using this system, it rewards good posts, and therefore, the content quality is raised.
That's good, since this isn't makemoneybyspam.org, it's bitcoin and talk!
I originally joined for bounties just as many other users, however, lately I've mostly been trying to discuss bitcoin and crypto in general.
I mean, this forum dates back to the birth of bitcoin, all the information is right here! It seems like it's a bit of a shame to let it all kinda decay into a forum filled with bounty-spam and people asking what merit is.
But, it is contained, mostly!

There are some really high quality content in this forum on any and all crypto-aspects, and we can all contribute in some way.

As this forum is supposed to be discussion about bitcoin and not about leveling up for bounties. I don't see merit is a problem. In discussion you are judged by your post content, not your rank. BUT, if you are here only to make some money then it's indeed a problem because you need merit to level up your account.
Newbie to newbie advice: you better of do other bounties, not signature one.

Firstly, I don't think you should start such boring topic on merit system. Therefore, I suggest you to locked your topic sooner or later (you can not delete it because the topic stays in the Meta board).

You're confused because people talk about Merit here in Meta section right? Did you even realise that you just made a topic that talks about Merit? Then you're included to that "Every People" you were talking about.

Nope, Merits is not a problem. Any problem?
Those people who treat Merit as a problem.
Those people who can't accept and are against Merit System. With these people around, Merit System will never be acknowledged by other people.

It is a right place to talk about merit. Since meta board is the place to talk about problem and other new things in forum, so it is okay to talk about merit in here, unless admin made a new board for merit specifically.

The problem is not merit. The problem is that people are not getting it that is why they think it is a problem, at least for their "getting money" problem.

I think this can be said about a lot of the features of BCT. For sure it's not the most intuitive forum in 2018.

That being said, learning and contributing has been educational; almost to the point of addiction now for me! ;D

Creating a merit topic was just another to be called a spam in the Meta section. You're questions are already having a thousands of answers, if you just read the previous topics or locked topics here in the meta. Because this topic doesn't make any sense and most of the users who are trying to reply here was just to increase activity.

Right! Especially if those questions have been already answered by someone else at some place in the forum.
The topic should be locked to avoid spammers join and dump their shits.

Yeap, Meta board is for the purpose, but before creating new topic, writers should use search function of the forum to find available topics and potential anwers.
Only creating new topic if the question have not been answered.

I understand what you are trying to say and let me tell you are not alone. I was once disgusted to see the number of new threads popping up in meta about merit. Now since meta is about discussions related to the forum and merit is a system of the forum - its justified to discuss about it here. Still I had come up with this idea a few months back but it didnt get much of a traction.

The problem is that people who come to this forum think its the place from where they can feed their family with the petty bucks that they get from signature spamming. This "Who does not like free money" attitude is the root cause of spam.

Don't just jump to conclusion. Some of them are not reading deeply in the forum. Because of merit system, our admins already determines which section were merit transactions took place a lot (in Lauda's point of view-"I can already see the main sources of account farming for some sections" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3650124.msg36786484#msg36786484))

Just be patient. Follow our admins to have more ideas what is happening in the forum and look for more useful topics from them to broaden your idea.
