After reading this:

Who are we?

Axon Labs is a spin-off company born inside a Research & Development Corporation. After months of work, our research team came up with the technology we now use for Synapse Terra miners. As the original company that gave birth to this technology is a research and development hub, we created Axon labs. Dedicated to offer Synapse signature products specifically to the virtual currency mining market.

A bright future

With an incredible interest shown in our products, Axon Labs has set its main goals to develop and manufacture a diversity of high performance products suited for the future of markets. Bitcoin miners are only the beginning of a long and exciting journey!

I feel like family to them! Please put me down for eleventy of them.

I'm just kidding.

- No https AKA Secure sheLL Sockel Layer, which means that this mfg. sent IDs and vetting info to a SSL registrar (tip o' the hat to a kind stranger, Kaega, for pointing out my logic/acronym fail)
- No info, no LinkedIn profile links on company founders

Caveat Emptor!

R&D Corporation? WTF?!

And these days, most corporations have non-compete clauses AND have right of first refusal or own the rights to anything created/invented during the course of work.

Just my 2cents.

It`s not totally correct. They have a RapidSSL cert from Geotrust. The Cert is a real one but it is exposed for the domain https://www.ipage.com (https://www.ipage.com).

scam, it's the same group of scammers repeating the same crap once their ruse is debunked each time.

I'd imagine it's the same people behind 'hashblaster'...

their customer service says they are located in Markham Canada. I should note the customer service moniker used in our chat was "descarte"... same as OP.

I am in Canada and live within half an hour drive.

I didn't see the address but I might be willing to stop by if they allow it and a time is arranged.

Edit:  270 Esna Park drive is an industrial section of Markham.  I have customers in that area and I will actually be around the corner from there on Monday for other business.  I will drive by the address and have a look.  I won't be knocking on doors or any such thing.  I am assuming that address is an industrial complex and has multiple units but the website doesn't list a unit number, but I will do a "drive by" on Monday all the same.

I'm not sure you understand what https is and how it is different from SECURE SHELL (ssh).  But alas, a site should have SSL configured on their site.

NEVER give your money to an ASIC company that has neither shown their stuff on these forums or even said a word.

These are fly by night scams and nothing more, if you send to them, you deserve what you get, which is an empty wallet and sorrow that you didn't buy from reputable sources.

This looks like the same jokers behind several others.

Don't mind me. I'm a network engineer that's designed multiple LANs for a number of Research Labs (even a MAN), but I'm an engineer cramming for a Security+ cert. Besides dealing w/ the DoD acronym overload I normally have to deal with, I'm busy cramming info - mostly useless info - for a cert exam. SSH, SSL...close enough!  :D

Thanks for the catch: that should be SSL for Secure Socket Layer (the "s" in https) and not SSH (hooray for Putty).

For customers who ordered several machines and managed to get a deal to get extra blades, don't forget that machines are limited to 3 blades in total per machine. We will not take reservations for more blades than you can fit in the machines you ordered.

How cute, pretty much saying we will not rip you off any more than you already have been if you purchased any of our "machines".

Did they also neglect to mention that their facility was guarded by a moat with sharks armed with lazors on their headz?

Not like this isn't clearly a scam but in case anyone is interested I did drive by the address on Monday.  There is no sign of any company called AxonLab or anything close.  14 Units at 270 and all appear to be rented and in use by existing companies with signage, except one.  One of the units was listed as an Ontario numbered corp so I have no idea what they do and they had no sign on the door or window of the unit (just the unit#).

If in some 1 in a billion off chance someone talks to these guys and they allow visitors I am in the area all the time and would be happy to stop by although I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting.   ;)

This is a response from my email to them....

> When can I expect these if I make my order this month?
I'm sorry, we're unable to estimate queue position in a two-weeks period. The best guess I could come up with is - at the beginning of Q2.

> Also I read a scam report on bitcointalk.com. If you google axonlabs a scam you can find the link?
You can probably obtain similar results searching for "Microsoft Scam". This is the internet ;)

> Most importantly can I come to your shop and pay cash for these items as I live within reasonable distance. Please understand the lack of trust as your company is new to the miner hardware business.
We don't allow visits of the labs, and we do not accept cash payments. You may use escrow services to hold your payment until delivery or wait for a future shipping batch.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further question. It will be a pleasure to assist you.

Kind regards

C. Desjardins, Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
Axon Labs, Markham
