Deutsche eMark sees to be skyrocketing lately.  What is the appeal?  German engineering?

No, DEM is not skyrocketing, it is just getting starting :)

DEM is very good coin, and for now there are only ~2 500 000 coins.

DEM is also first SHA256 coin after BTC with the best profitability. See coinwarz.com with 14-day average value (coinwarz.com has for w while broken rate from coinex.pw API, so the profability was better as wrote in the site).

I am very happy to have a few of these in my portfolio and I hope to make a good business with these coins. +30% should be possible in the next 24 hours.

There's a team of really motivated Germans working on it, that should tell you all there is to know :D

Yeah, but it's worth a quick 50% return on a small buy if you get in low before the pumps.  Just gotta be patient and try to judge it right.  I don't know anything about this coin, but saw the opportunity at 0.0006 and I hope to get lucky enough to enter a trade there again and see if it can make one more bounce to the 0.0008 region.

And newbies are easily confused. I'm not going to track down every post but if I come across one I like to do my part.

What are your criterias for a scamcoin or is it gut instinct?

Nothing new and just a shameless clone. Litecoin is not a scamcoin and neither is PPC.

It is not essential whether a coin has something new, but if there is a strong community behind it. That's undoubtedly the case for the eMark.

Your wrong here on 2 counts. It's mainly important to differentiate because otherwise there is no reasons to move over from Bitcoin and if there is no reason to move over there will never be a critical mass and therefore a strong community. The only reason there are people behind it is because they think they can get rich quickly off off some schmucks. Try to have an original idea :)

But that is exactly what it's all about. You buy an altcoin on cryptsy ore somewhere else because you expects a short-or long-term value increases. You do not buy it because, there is a great intellectual idea behind the coin.

it's all here just about profit. And the eMark promises in medium-term a very good yield (as many other coins also (eg DogeCoin up to now))

It keeps getting better! This is what we like to call pump and dump. Trying to buy something which has no value and sell it for more. It's what we call a scam hence scamcoin :)

That is how the world financial system works since Nixon decided to end international convertibility of the dollar to gold in 1971. You buy something because you and everybody hops that it has a value.

Nope that's fiat.

The same applies to crypto currencies.

Not for the non scamcoin ones :)
