Do you know what it might be? Also, do you have a backup of the wallet from before you changed the passphrase? If so, the old passphrase will work with the backed up wallet.

Try this:
http://www.oxid.it/ca_um/topics/brute-force_password_cracker.htm

Set it with predefined examples of what your password might be or what you think you set it to.

Good luck.

Don't send your bitcoin to anybody and don't disclose any information about your password.
Instead follow the suggestion quoted, you have a backup, right?

I might be able to but only if you have a good idea of what your password is. Instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=343611.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=343611.0)

Be careful, he could send you a wallet with a virus in it, there are plenty of scam emails out there that contain wallets to mess with your system.

There are quoted ways on here to help you get it back without sending anyone any files.

Just trying to keep both sides of this safe.

Good luck getting the account open.

On a side note, if it contains BTC whats the public key??

edit.... you have a bad trust rating, people arent happy with you.

I guess with the lack of response with how this was resolved that it might very well have been a scam.

Sadly far to many greedy people falling for these types of scams.
